why not just bring the car to one of the people on here who offered to look at it for you......
you want a problem diagnosed online that could be cuased 100 different ways with as many different fixes....
sunday afternoons are good for me pm if interested advice is free.....
speaking of nitrous I'll never forget that night out on broad by kroger when my dakota backfired and you almost missed your pants becuase 6 feet of fire shot over the windshield..... I ended up with a 175 shot on that little V6 and it never missed a beat
wasn't your first nitrous kit some stuff fowler pieced together from spare parts and random ebay stuff... One of the solenoids got stuck open at a gas station somewhere.....
your looking at close to 300 in parts (timing belt, tensioner, idler, balance belt, water pump, coolant, drive belts) and probably 4 or 5 hours of labor
anything under 1000 at a regular shop is a pretty good deal
compression ratio is not really the main issue....
its cylinder head and piston design that really limit what you can do (quench area)....
with the right combination of parts 12.5 and evnen higher compression ratios are possible
if your using mostly off the shelf stuff AJ is correct stay around 11:1
New uses general store. It's like once-upon a child for household stuff. Call them to see if they have any available. Several stores around columbus.
