  9. good story about what to do if an unmarked tries to pull you over that I got in an email This story was recently sent to me by a friend. This actually happened >to one of my dearest new friend's daughter.. Her daughter, Laura is a 19 >year old sophomore in college and it happened to her over the Christmas/New >Year's >holiday break. Until now, I never even knew about the #77 calling feature >and >I feel it is >important enough to share with others! >It was the Saturday before New Year's and it was about 1 PM in the >afternoon. > >Laura was driving from Winchester, to visit a friend in >Warrenton. Laura pulled out onto the interstate and started following a >state police car. She was traveling just over 65 mph behind him. Soon >thereafter an UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his >lights on. >My friend and her husband have 4 children (high school and college age) >and have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked police car >onto the side of the road. Rather, they should dial #77 on their cell phone, >tell >the dispatcher that you will gladly pull over at the next gas station or >some other populated area. Laura had actually listened to her parents' >advice and promptly called #77 on her cell phone to tell the dispatcher that >she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher >that there were 2 cars, one unmarked behind her and the other, marked in >front of her. The dispatcher promptly checked to verify there were in fact >two(2) police cars where she was at. There wasn't and she was connected to >the policeman in front of her and he told her to keep driving, remain calm >and that he had back-up already on the way. >Ten minutes later four(4) patrol cars surrounded her and the unmarked car >behind her. One(1) policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the >unmarked car behind hers. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him >to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and was wanted for other >crimes as well. >I never knew that bit of advice, but especially for a woman alone in a car, >you should not pull over for an unmarked car in a secluded area. In fact, >even a marked car after dark should follow you to a populated area. Police >have to respect your right to keep going to a "safe" place. You obviously >need to make some signals that you acknowledge them (IE: put on your hazard >lights or call #77 like Laura did.) I am so thankful that my friend was >just sitting at our book club meeting telling us this scary story, rather >than us sitting at her house consoling her! Pass this on to your >friends, awareness is everything. > > >
  10. car is 97 riviera s/c want to make more boost http://www.thrashercharged.com/L67_htm/pulley.shtm
  11. he means turbo it. it would be far cheaper to spray a 100 shot easier to install too
  12. just add nitrous graemlins/bubbrubb.gif
  13. does it stall any other time could be a soleniod in the trans sometimes they cause the converter to lock up at idle wich makes the car stall
  14. he has to have his lights on to pull you over he does not have to have them on to radio ahead. actually he probably got the desired effect your dector went off and you slowed down
  15. just spray it. that little 2.2 ought to handel a 150 shot 4 or 5 times before it quits
  16. looks viable. can you build it? I'll try it if you can solder it all together and tell me what to buy.
  17. check these places out www.trishieldperf.com ---minesota http://wsx.net/ere/ ---newark(ohio) they both do excellent transmissions the hot setup on big block cars right now is a th400 or a th350 with a gear vendors overdrive on the back now the catch is that the gear vendors deal is almost 2000 but if you already a have good trans setup you won't have to go through it all again plus the gear vendors unit is bullet proof thos eturbo six motors make torque but not like a big block I have a turbo 400 for an olds if you need it let me know and we can work something out
  18. A-transmission masters in reynoldsburg does good work. a service bulletin is an update for techs with new/better info usually. the circut board thing is for after a rebuild. with the kind of mileage you have its prolly due anyway. if you don't wanna mess with the trans shop pm me and I'll see what kind of price I can get you on a rebuilt one through the store
  19. call marvin at reynoldsburg NAPA he does good work
  20. extrude honing works good but you should get a good port job done first
  21. you both have owned your clutches they probably have hot spots and warpage wich is why you get the shudder go get a new clutch and make sure you surface the flywheel if the flywheel has burn marks(bluish hot spots) junk it for a new one cause its shot. HTH
  22. do you already have a pressure box for the carb? if not I'll poke through my car crafts till i find the blow through carb turbo they did the box was sweet clear so you could see the carb in side.
