If you're looking for more familiar Dynojet comparisons, my EVO made 400whp on IPS's Dynojet and ran the numbers in my sig.
-
Awesome. I'll let Mike know and one of us can hopefully set something up with you via PM's. Yes. That's our best pass to date. Previous best last year was 9.39 at 157mph. We ran 9.23 at 160mph on the pass before the 8.96. We're excited about the rest of the year as this was a good first step so early in the season. Nothing of significance broke on the car too which is always a great feeling.
-
Guys, Our camera guy unfortunately had to leave before we made our 8.96 pass. I thought I saw at least 1 or 2 people filming the car during our pass. If anyone has it on film we would be beyond grateful for a copy of the pass. We were the white DSM. Thanks in advance.
-
8.96 at 160.94. Car ran great today and it seems like the tire/suspension mods we've done finally started to get the thing going straight down the track. Thanks to Anthony and CR for putting on another well run event!

This shit sounds eerily similar to the crap I deal with from non DSM people telling me what our car should run because it makes 1000whp. Old school people don't just understand what it takes to make certain platforms go fast. Particularly when you get into uncharted territory and have to be the one to figure out the limits of weak links in parts. Its easy to put together a solid car out of proven parts that have been around for 20 years on a certain platform. This kind of stuff is a whole different level when you end up having to be the person that is the innovator.

Zettler has a large selection of metric taps

BTW... AMS' pass was beat by Mike Reichen's EVO2 over the weekend which went 237mph at Maxtown.
-
That wasn't my point. I was just showing what the platform is currently capable of coming out of a competent shop/tuner. The car in the video would put down over 1000whp on a Dynojet.

Here's what they can do with a Shep tranny and over 800whp on a Mustang Dyno.
-
I'll be there. I don't usually pass up a chance to see a shredder like Petrucci up close.
-
I've never "broken in" a turbo in any way, whether it be a standard journal bearing or a Garrett BB CHRA.
-
I saw them open at the Newport for Megadeth (I think) a year or two ago. The whole band was good and she can really belt it out. (Although I realize that's not what this thread's about )

Clutch technology has come a long way in the last few years for Mitsubishi. In the old days, you had to use very heavy duty pressure plates to get the cars to hold big power. It came at the expense of really tearing up the transmissions as the disengagement was not good at all (particularly at non-stock RPM). Basically, if you need anything stronger than your run of the mill 2600/street disc combo then you should be looking at twin disc setups if you want the trans to last (and shift faster).
-
I haven't run these sorts of clutches in a long time but my assumption would be that you want MB1-XTSS. The disc is the same between the two choices (MB1-HDSS vs MB1-XTSS). The level of "extreme" is the clamping force of the pressure plate. Call them and ask what extreme equates to what number. My assumption would be that "extreme" equates to 2600 and "max extreme" equates to 2900. I say this because ACT always had the stance that you couldn't use a street disc on a 2900 pressure plate although everyone did it.
-
Run a 2600 and an organic street disc. I would also get rid of the aluminum flywheel and also get an ACT chrome moly one. They hold up well and aren't that much heavier.

My DSM syncro tranny made 48 10-11 second passes without breaking. After I was done with the car, the tranny was sold to a guy using it in a 400hp street car without continued failure. Many DSM tranny failures come from poorly adjusted, shitty clutches that don't disengage properly at high RPM.

No problem man. It is 24' from the tongue to the tail. That is why I posted the interior car fitment measurements to hopefully cut down on any confusion. Thanks.

Nothing that I have ever noticed. I think that it could be a reflection issue from the camera. I can check in person when I am there next if it is something you are serious about.

Mike and I are going to be doing something different this season with transporting the race car so my trailer is going up for sale. It is a 1996 Wells Cargo 24' enclosed trailer. Exterior color is dark green. I am the second owner off the trailer. The original owner was a friend of mine who purchased it new locally from Williams Trailer. At the time, it had about every aftermarket option available installed on it and he paid about $13k for it. Some of the features are roll up awning, electric hitch, diamond plating flooring/ramp, 110v AC wired, full cabinetry, interior lighting, exhaust fans, ETC. The trailer measures 24' from front to back. On the interior, the total car length space is 210"l x 95"w x 73"h The trailer will also come with the class 3 hitch ball, stabilizer bars, and anti sway bar. The tires all the way around have all been replaced in the last year and have little use on them as we did not do much racing at all last season. The only current issues with the trailer is that the chains need to be replaced as they got mangled up from dragging on the ground on a recent trip by mistake. Also, we've had an issue with the parking lights on the trailer harness not working correctly. The brake lights, hazards, and signals all work. We just do very little night time trailering so never bothered trouble shooting it. It should not be hard to take care of. Some pics can be seen here: http://www.dqracing.com/trailer/ Price is $5000 OBO Please PM me with any questions. I can also photograph anything more specific you would like to see or make arrangements to show it to anyone interested.

Are you serious? You think I don't know what our own car looks like?
-
I did. I chuckled It still doesn't mean he gets it though due to his lack of any acknowledgement or accountability for doing something wrong. It may be a little pety on my part but a lot of money and a lot of knowledge went into us getting our car to where it currently is at. It hasn't been easy by any means being a privateer. I think I made my point though now and will drop it
-
That he apparently didn't learn from since he pulled the same documented stunt on another forum over a year ago.

Shortly afterward, I received this PM on ColDSM. I did not realize that it was the same person until this morning:

It honestly doesn't bother me that much. I'm sure it happens to others as well. But I can tell you that if word got out to a certain group of individuals that he's using Wes's car for his own props that said group would certainly pay him a personal visit. Wes was a well respected man by the fastest and tightest DSM circle of national friends. I would suggest he at takes that particular video down
