  1. Did anyone happen to get video of our 9.39 at 157 mph pass? It was in the early afternoon.
  2. No that was it. The track officials weren't too happy with us in the afternoon. They kept stopping him at the shut off every pass and telling me at the tree how squirly the car is and that we need to do something different. I said "yeah the track needs prepped". So we decided to just wait til KOC thinking it would improve. First pass was still dialed up and it went all over the place. They yelled at us again so I tried really dialing the car down. He came out real soft on the next one and it just went 10.1 at 156mph. At that point we decided to pack it up as it was clear to us that we weren't going to get any better. I'm not mad at NTR for being concerned. Our car is all over the place and I can see their point. Its a scary looking ride. I don't think they see enough AWD cars like ours to know what to think of it either. We are probably approaching some suspension limits and we're probably on too small of a tire at this point. We have a lot of data to analyze.
  3. New personal best for us of 9.39 at 157mph. We also had personal best 60's in the 1.3x's but the track would not hold the car after lunch time. We tried a few things but nothing worked so we packed it up unharmed. All in all, a great day.
  4. Sorry if I missed this in another thread but are the gates indeed at 9 or will they open earlier?

    500hp WRX?

500whp on a stock block EVO is easy. Engine wise, all the car needs is cams, head studs, and rod bolts. The stock intake manifold/throttle body are fine at that power level.
  6. Thanks for taking the great pics guys! We had a crazy week with trying to get the car up to NHRA specifications with the various safety changes we had to do in addition to making licensing passes all day on Saturday. The car took quite a beating all weekend but made it back home winning the event. Big thanks to IPS for all of the help they continue to give us with getting the car down the track!
  7. It has gone 9.50 (maybe just not at an IFO event).
  8. Yes they were late. They almost always are. I wouldn't use the word thorough as much as just generally slow.
  9. Is anything going to be done different this year to get the cars tech'd in faster? Not having NTR open their gates until 11:00 and having qualifying at 1:00p is ridiculous. Last year, we were one of the first cars through the gate but we still could not get our car through tech fast enough. Basically, they called qualifying and nobody could even come to the staging lanes yet. It would be nice if NTR could open the gates an hour or 2 early to let the trailered cars get unloaded and tech'd in so that people can actually see the fast cars during qualifying.
  10. So is a stock EVO turbo at 30psi on paper. But did you try it?
  11. Why did you only run 23psi? Were you out of injector or something?
  12. Exactly, it needs to be a good $.60--$.75/gallon cheaper than 87 for the masses to justify switching to it. It won't be around much longer if its just people like me buying it.
  13. My Georgesville Kroger E85 was $.30 cheaper than 87 octane today.
  14. Nothing tops The Beast at about 10:30pm through the pitch black dark.
  15. If you're serious about running a 35r on a bone stock motor then you may want to reconsider. You should at least consider replacing the rod bolts and head studs while the motor is already out of the car. A 35r at lowish boost (25psi) is a bit of a dog. It doesn't really wake up until 28-32PSI and at that point you are going to be pushing 500 to the wheels. The motor isn't going to hold up at the RPM you're going to want to turn. Think about valve springs now too if you intend to spin the car to 8k or so where it would want it. Is this car a IX? If so then I would honestly argue with you that you could ET the car quicker on a stock IX turbo than a radically tamed down 35R.
  16. I'll be there driving something different for a change.
  17. Less show mods, more go-fast mods!
  18. Are you really serious? I would say that is a little extreme coming from an experienced racer such as yourself. I am going to defend the driver (not just because I am a DSM person). I am going to separate out the "who should pay for a cleanup portion" out of my statement. My problem with all these posts is mostly about the fact that some people are just plain pissed that a car broke and oiled down the track. I will give everyone the benefit of the doubt and ASSUME that the beef here has nothing to do with the fact that the driver who put the oil down is not a regular member of the CR circle. With that said, I think the organizers of the events should think about outlining specific regulations as to how they want the event ran to prevent this from happening. For example, if you want to reduce the possibility of an oil down then make a stipulation that cars faster than 11.0 can't run, prevent a DSM from running if it is the belief that a DSM is a volatile platform and the odds of breakage are greater, change the rules to tech cars that are known to go that fast and require them to run a diaper pan ETC. Faster cars break more often. DSMs probably break more often. I know that most will think these rules would be silly but that is what you guys are basically implying. To expect a someone driving a high strung car that is spinning 10k rpm to check his oil pressure gauge down the middle of a 140+ pass is silly. It just doesn't work that way. If the oil filter truely was the failure point then I guarantee you that oil wasn't splattering all over his windshield during the pass. The oil filter issue is a somewhat common issue with the DSM filter housing and I have personally seen way to many of them unfortunately. I am not trying to give anyone a hard time. We have ran our car at numerous CR rentals over the past years and have always enjoyed the event. I do not know Anthony and the other too well but everyone has always been beyond cordial and friendly to us. I understand the frustration of those that experienced the down time as I've been on that end of things plenty of times. It is unforunately part of the territory.
  19. The time has come and I need to get aggressive with getting this chassis gone. I am officially out of room for it this coming month and it needs to go. The first person that shows up with $3200 can have it. If my time is up and I have to make new storage arrangements then I am going to pull it off the market as it feels ridiculous for me to lower the price any more than this. You aren't going to find a clean 2g chassis with this much safety equipment and weight reduction done anywhere close to a price like this. I am still willing to negotiate a delivery of the chassis to a buyer within a reasonable distance. $3200
  20. Injecting a nozzle or 2 worth of meth is not going raise your motor octane level to 120. You do get the cooling effect as you described but you get a similar effect by just running E85. More importantly, if you are running a larger turbo, throwing 30-40% more mass of fuel through a system produces much more exhaust energy which helps to spool a system sooner and make more torque. This is a big benefit of running E85 over gasoline.
