  1. Because you will reach the knock threshold of pump/meth before you will on E85 (in my experience).
  2. You will make more power on E85 than pump/meth injection.
  3. I've been running E85 for about 20,000 consecutive miles in my EVO. I run an AEM EMS that has all been tuned by me. Pros- 1.) The fuel is awesome. I can push the car to high end race gas levels and get similar results. There are EVOs going 9s on it and 1 in the 8s so far. The stuff works. 2.) It makes controlling large injectors more manageable since you need such a larger IPW compared to gasoline. Cons- 1.) Price- It used to be $.50/gallon cheaper than 87 octane which made is reasonable. It is now only a dime cheaper so it actually costs me more to run E85 than 93 octane once the decreased gas mileage of E85 is factored in. 2.) Cold starts when its wicked cold can be challenging depending on how good you are with engine management. 3.) Availability- Depending on where you travel outside of Columbus (and the size of your gas tank) then you're going to have trouble making a long round trip commute of more than 4 hours. Tuning for the fuel is going to be application specific and my only first hand knowledge is on DSM/EVOs. I can tell you that my tuning approaches that I have found work best are different with E85 vs gasoline.
  4. I own an EVO 8. It used to me my wife's daily driver until I recently got her something new. It is basically my mule car to test tuning ideas on and whatnot. It is quick for what it is but I have never drag raced it in its present form. 5. The biggest variable yet to be mentioned is what kind of fuel you plan on running.
  6. I find it funny that people are making fun of the driving of a guy that has more 9 second passes in sanctioned racing than this whole message board combined. I probably need to lighten up though
  7. $1.16 for E85 yesterday;)
  8. Last I saw Rau's car it was well over 2100lbs still. Things may have changed with ADRL rules though.
  9. Price reduced to $4800 delivered anywhere in Ohio!
  10. Buschur is the "fastest". AMS is the "quickest";)
  11. My 3 year old is actually quite good with the PS3 already so I'm not sure how old your kids are. Instead of buying games, we just download the demos off the PS Network for free and they keep him quite busy (me too). The demos are a lot of fun and give you a great preview of the game before buying.
  12. Phil's car has a TH400. Congrats on the amazing accomplishment!
  13. They were 1-4 going in:confused:
  14. I would be interested in a rental there before years end.
  15. I'd like to thank Anthony and the other organizers for putting on another great event. We don't know most of you guys too well but we are always made to feel very welcome. Thanks! Our best pass was 10.1x at 147.xx Our car still isn't where we want it to be but we keep shaving a bunch of time off every time out. It's just a matter of seat time at this point as the car continues to be a handful to drive. I was hoping that we'd start running some 9s but at least it was consistently running low 10s even with bogs, missed shifts, and timing marker dodging. It was also fun getting yelled at for having a laptop in the car and guessing at the tune for the next 8 passes. Who needs data acquisition right?
  16. Pat did my cage while he was at Grashel and did an excellent job.
  17. Do you guys know what the track prep is going to be like? Are they spraying the whole way? 330'? Any plans to respray after x amount of time? It's looking to be a nice day but a little cold. Our car likes to treat NTR like a slalom course so I was just curious:)
  18. We use the NGK AFX in the race car and I've installed a bunch of AEM UEGOs in various cars. IPS has had the AEM units in stock most times I've needed one.
  19. An EVO is not a DSM. There are barely any interchangeable parts. The entire drive train on the EVO is a MASSIVE improvement over the DSM in terms of robustness and performance. The suspension is much better. The cylinder head is much improved. The stock cam profiles are better. The oiling system is better. The cooling system is better. The turbo variants are better. ETC Also, the EVO is built in Japan vs the DSM built in IL
  20. I would question whether something like a 25% BAC legal limit could be as simple as taking a cold medicine in the AM?
  21. His OP implies that he's already found one meeting his criteria.
  22. It likely has seen a ton of highway miles to be that high in mileage already. If it has not been abused and well maintained then the engine can last forever. The tranny will need rebuilt before the engine does.
