3.8L is an ok engine but they to tend to have a lot of oil consumption issues. If you are going the JK route, try to find a '12 model with the 3.6L. Engine seems to be pretty good so far. That is what is in my '13 JK. IMO if you are buying a vehicle to just take off road, don't spent $16K on a newer model Jeep. Just get something cheap and keep throwing parts at it to build it up. Personally I would go get a cheap Cherokee, small lift and a sawzall and you can fit those 33-35" tires and do almost everything a Wrangler can do off road for A LOT less than $16K

As many have said, stay away from those Brinkmann pieces of crap. Very thin metal that warps because of the heat it does produce. All very cheap coatings on the grill surface. Picked up a King-Griller brand a couple years ago and it is world of difference. Great heavy duty unit that I picked up at Menards for like $180. Picked up the charcoal add on unit so I can use either gas or charcoal on the same grill.

Have you checked with Lowes or Home Depot? I know they can cut glass for you, so might be worth a check to see if they can also drill.

Man my student loan interest rate was never above 1.5% during the whole time I had them. Once my loans went into repayment, I signed up for the auto withdrawal and they cut my rate to .25% as long as all payments were on time. Still glad those things are completely paid off now. Yes it can happen very easy. Don't ever just buy some tickets from someone that just hands you a printed piece of paper. Not even from a scalper. A STH should transfer the tickets to through the Jacket's Ticketmaster page. All they would need is your email account. You should receive an email from the Jackets that you will need to create a ticket account and claim the tickets. Once the tickets are claimed, the STH can't get those tickets back unless you refuse the tickets. Their STH card won't work and they can't print off more tickets for that game once you claim those tickets. Another way is just to buy tickets on the Ticketmaster ticket Exchange site.

No I didn't buy one in CA. I got mine right here in Columbus, so no worries. Mine sounds like it is equipped exactly the same as the one you are looking at. Honestly don't worry about the axle ratio. If you are planning on lifting it and putting bigger tires on it, you better do it right and change out the gears. If you are keeping it stock, don't worry about what gears it has. Also I did get mine for $25K. Got mine "used" with less than 2,000 miles on it. For those that didn't know, the Jeep Wrangler changed the engines in them in 2012. the older ones came with either a 3.7 or a 3.8 which were major dogs. In 2012, it only came with the Penstar 3.6L which is worlds above the older engines. Still a Jeep, not going to win any speed records, but it is a major upgrade. Also mpg has increased. With mixed highway and street driving, I normally see 21 mpg. Longest trip I have taken in it was from Columbus to Myrtle Beach I was getting 24 mpg all the way there.

Sounds like I just purchased exactly the JK you are looking at. Personally I love it. But I have always loved Jeeps. Probably the only bad thing I can say about it is that is isn't the fastest thing out there. Sometimes can pretty slow on the acceleration. But it is a Jeep, you don't buy them for speed. Keep in mind, you will want to mod the JK as soon as you get it. Just so many cool things you can do to them. If you want a fun little sports car, go for the FRS. You want join the Jeep lifestyle, then do it. Also if you have any questions, just let me know.

Good luck finding it. I know it took me about 6 months to find one for exactly the way I wanted at a good price. But just keep looking they do show up.

I just picked up my 2013 Sport S with hard top used for $25k. Had less than 2,000 miles on it and includes all factory warranties. Picked it up at a local dealership. Pretty much the Jeep I have wanted my whole life.
