I have been there recently and it isn't as fun as 5 years ago.

I have enabled it on customer environments, its nice because it does away with DHCP. Your machine wakes up and sends out an ICMP message asking for the auto-configure network. Then it takes its own mac and makes an IP address. It only uses that address to communicate globally, it has a local address as well. Also, it builds a 24 hour security address if needed. It does some very interesting stuff and is so much better than IPV4. The problem is using things like PING is a PITA, 128 bit addresses are crazy big. I am looking to get a job with a company that is using IPV6 for communication because they are putting millions of devices out there. I have some experience with it, have deployed it and written courses on it, but the uptake seems really slow. Its funny, the answer is out there, not one is using it.

Come on, I wrote a class for VZB to start implementation for IPV6. Guess I didn't need to do that eh?

Anyone out there using IPV6 in earnest? Just trying to judge the uptake by some local enterprises.

I have always just gone to the truck stop and filled up with taxed fuel, but I now realize that I can run un-taxed fuel. Anyone know where I can buy OTR diesel? Where I am from in Minnesota, most of the pumps have on and off road sides.

Yeah, Pager towers mess with 900. 2.4 and 5.8 are wifi (802.11b/g and 802.11a), baby monitors, bluetooth..... I just need to be able to look at the air at a given site and say "900 MHZ will work here" or "looks like something is interfering".

I am looking for a broad range Spectrum Analyzer, I will need to be able to read interference for all 900MHZ, 2.5GHZ and 5.8GHZ channels. Anyone have experience with this or have on? Just looking for suggestions.

Back when I used to race regularly, we would always see guys with the chute hooked to something that would tear off when it deployed. Make sure whatever you tie the stroud lines to, can stop the car.

You can drink at any of the state parks. You just need to keep it in your campsite, if you walk around with a beer you are subject to ohio laws (and you are on a public road). I have done it plenty of times at Alum.
