Actually it is a decision that people make. Learn to live with less. You don't actually have to have two (or three) cars. You don't need 4000 sq/ft to raise 2 kids. When my wife got pregnant with our first, we said she would stay home and I would work. My children don't know what a daycare is. We lived with less in the beginning, luckily my wife's company let her work part-time with flexible hours and she can do what she wants. Not everyone has it this way but if one of you is working to pay for daycare, it is just dumb to have both work. I agree, raise your kids.

I train dogs as well, not professionally but I have been to just about as many courses as a dog trainer. Agility, obedience, you name it. Positive reinforcement will adjust behavior but negative reinforcement works well too. If your dog jumps on you, stick out a knee and knock them down. This shows them that jumping on you is negative. If they bite you and their mouth hurts after, they stop biting. If you try to beat a dog, you usually make them afraid of you.

This is a very simple thing to fix. Offer your hand, when she bits, pinch with your thumb under her tongue and your fingers outside of her mouth under her chin. Like you are picking up a Bass. she doesn't need to yelp, but be firm and make her want it to stop, she will back away and open her mouth. Tell her "No Bite" Keep at it, everyone in the family needs to do it. Labs have to bite things, they have to, they are mouthy dogs. Never ever give your dog rawhide, unless you want a very expensive trip to the vet. Soak a rawhide chewy in water and watch it swell up, then imagine the rawhide they swallow. Go buy a Kong, put some pnut butter in it, that is what they can chew on.

I am installing XP SP2 in a parallels partition/vm on my mac. I installed XP with SP1 and SP2 errors out when I try to install it. Does anyone have XP with SP2 already?

Ask your IT guy if they have webmail setup. If not you can use an HTTPs/RPC in outlook to get into the server.

Well, I asked for the raise. I made it pretty clear that I know they are going to either put me on the road more or give me piles of more work. I did mention that the group budget is doing much better now that this guy is gone. Should be fun to watch them squirm as they start wondering how serious I am.

I already have another job or two if I want them. I like the company but this is an economics problem. Economics is the study of the allocation of scarce resources. For the company it is money, for me it is time. They will be requiring more of mine, therefore I require more of theirs.

They are in the business of providing the utility at the basic level. You get on a plane in CMH and get off in FLL. The quality of service isn't very high but the end result is you are now in FLL. If this is what you are looking for, they are the airline for you. They fly at strange times, they operate out of secondary airports but their name says it all. The low fares thing cannot last, the rising fuel costs, their cost of operations is going up (they have to have a phone center), I would say jump on it sooner rather than later. And, buy some of the crap on the plane, figure it into your total fare cost. If you like their business model and the service you are getting from them you need to support them cuz the end will come soon.

I was just looking at Linksys 802.11n stuff an hour ago. If you can find a A/B/G router, get that. N isn't real yet and you probably don't have a working N card anyway, plus, most people go from their 802.11n access router to their cable modem via 100Mbps cable (N is faster than 100 M) anyway. I could go on and on about the pre-n stuff out there but basically, Linksys makes a pretty good product, so does Ruckus.

Fully licensed Aruba A200 with 2 AP 125s running A/B/G/N. But then again, I work for the company that makes them... I have a few Cisco Autonomous APs as well.
