  1. deffiately get rid of the platinum plugs..... you don't wanna make a stupid mistake. Also... deffinately do your research on N2O before playing with it. It can be very safe and very dangerous...... learn the in's and outs first..... stuff is posted all over the net to teach you
  2. I agree.... now if I log on at work, people know I'm screwing off... where before, they wouldn't.
  3. How do I get the paint to stick better? I scrubbed the calapers etc... but when I paint it, it's just like I waxed the car, the paint just beeds up. Problem is, I've put on like 4 coats, so one of the calapers is now red, but not red enough... looks kinda like a lady bug. How can I get this paint to stick?
  4. I was thinking it was quite low. The chain tensioner on it was busted, so either that broke causing the chain to snap, or the chain snapping broke it.
  5. haha....that you did. Now if I only know what the heck caused it to break. Man, when we started it up, woo wee... exhast fumes comming out the intake and the exhast (build-up from before) man, that car stunk for about 5 min's, but now she seems to purr like a kitten.
  6. well... it ended up being a busted timing chain.... about 4 hours later.... timing chain is replaced and the truck is running.... I'm surprised nothing else broke. I think he got lucky
  7. I told him to put a screw driver against one of his wires and then ground it to see if he gets spark or not. Do you really think it would be a timing chain?
  8. A buddy of mine drives a '95 Chevy S10 4 banger. He was driving down the road at about 35 mph and he heard a loud thump. The motor died. It will turn over, but won't fire. Any ideas on what it could be? Any thoughts on where to start would be helpful. The tow truck guy thinks it's a compression issue... you can take that for what it's worth. Does anyone have a compression checker that I can borrow... I dont' know where mine is. All fluid levels look fine. Any ideas?

  11. it spilled... when I yanked the seat, Keroseene leaked all the way to the bottom.
  12. Ok, I was hauling a Keroseen Heater in my car over the weekend. I got Keroseen all over the place.... my car stinks REALLY bad. I got the seats out and cleaned up the carpets.... the smell is out of the cars, but I've steam cleaned the hell out of the seats and can't seem to get the Keroseen out of the seats. I've actually gotten allot out of it, but it still smells bad. Any ideas?

Ok, in my mom's '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laeredo 4x4 it was having some surging problems at freeway speeds at the begining of the winter...... so she would just drive it around town and when she needed to go somewhere on the freeway, my dad would take her. Well, she let it sit for a few weeks, and now, the car won't move... whether I put it in gear or not, it will just sit there... the engine runs fine, but nothing... I can put the car in nutreul and also disengage the 4x4 and it sits.... I checked the breaks and they are stuck...... so I'm kinda at a loss on what the heck it could be....... the Tranny isn't shot either, cause I can feel it shift when I shift it into each gear. Any thoughts?
  15. John and I re-did the lash this morning. idles ALLOT smoother now. I tightened the hell out of the headers.... not nearly the ticking there was, but it's deffinately still there. I had to dremel the hell out of my headers to get them to fit, so I'm woundering if I just have a hole in there. I'm thinking maybe some soap and water or something to see if it blows bubbles on it. Also, my plugs are pretty fouled because of house insainely rich I'm running right now. so that's the two next things to do. Do you by any chance know how to edit fuel tables?
  16. I haven't put them back on yet. I need to try to tighten down that passanger side header before I put the valve cover back on, so I just cleaned up for the night. I'm going to try to get that tightened up and put it on. I'll let you know. Thanks for all your help!!!!

  20. That's kinda where I'm at..... I'm just sick of working on the car at this point and I'm willing to pay someone to do it. It doesn't seem hard, and on other cars, it's not, but for some reason, on mine, it's a total PITA... even ask John or Joe... they are having the same problem as me. Anyone wanna do it for a few bucks... maybe some beer?

  22. It's a Hydrolic cam, I tried that, and I can't seem to get it right.... like can get the driver side sounding really good, but then one rocker on the passanger side always freaking ticks.... It's driving me insaine! I have a well lit up garage and I work durring the day, so night time is the only time i have to work on my car anyways. If you wanna come over and give me a hand, I would REALLY appriciate it, and if you want a few bucks for it, let me know and I"m sure we can work something out.
  23. Ok, I'm tired of messing with my valve lash, I've decided to take it to a mechanic.... What shops are good shops around the Reynoldsburg - Gahanna area? It would be preferable if they are knowledgable with LT1 motors. Thanks!
