  1. I had to take my wife's Volvo to MAG for a 200.00 "software update" as the computer for the top was not shutting down as intended. There were no options. For me it was a glimpse into the future. I don't do my own work anymore but loathe taking my car to a dealership. It will suck if changes like this make businesses that I use like Dozzers Garage and IPS unviable for the long term. Though this would be REALLY long term because there are people like Clay
  2. How can you be upside down on it if you only have 4 or 5 months left?
  3. I have had it for over 15 years - no complaints. AT and T Is not available here.
  4. What the hell is wrong with a white tshirt? Sheesh. This is very cool - I will be in the next pack of buyers!
  5. Wait, he was going to attack a prison?
  6. So in your capital gains scenario - how did the guy buy the stock in the first place? That's right - with income that was already taxed. The inheritance tax is a scam too - why should someone have to pay tax for inheriting money that was taxed when earned? It makes no sense. I am all for paying my part - but I should not be expected to pay more of my money just because I have done well. I might even rethink that if the system that was taking my money worked. Name one thing that the government runs that it does well and does it without financial waste. Our politicians have 2 jobs to do: get elected and get re-elected.
  7. This will go off track so I will only say you are taking that verse out of context. You had a decent arguement and should not have ventured into this space.
  8. I am not a member of the 1% but consider myself successful. I have ever felt "held back" by the 1%. If I want more money I go work harder or sacrifice more - that easy. I do understand that "to know where it ends it usually depends on where you start" but I have never felt I could not make whatever I put my mind to. I sacrificed partying in high school and college to get the best education I could and have continually passed on easy jobs to advance my career. Should I give up part of my earnings for someone who did not make those sacrifices and is struggling now? (Note I am not taking about someone who is temporarily down on their luck or who is trying - I give generously to do my part for those types) Also, you are wrong on the bible - there is no "moral baggage" mentioned. Money is not bad - the love of money is.
  9. The question is how do you fix it? We should have a new thread on that
  10. Please don't take this as raining on anyone's parade - I am thrilled for you guys and envious as hell. I lived like there was no tomorrow, financially at least, in my 20s and 30s. The company I was working for closed suddenly and as I looked for a job the real stress was trying to find a job that paid enough to just pay my bills. My wife and I just realized it was not the way to live. I have one kid in college and another that will be on a year - paying cash which is not easy given I saved $0 in preparation. All that being said, I am throwing everything I have at paying off the Suburban - I have my eyes on something new . Until then I will Live vicariously through you guys!
  11. Man I need to get a car... Stupid financial restraint and a plan..
  12. Very nice - I hate Mopars (even that name pisses me off) but I would drive one of these or a Charger for sure.
  13. A driver who was Texting and driving cost me my CTSv. Check out my sig - still nothing to replace it . But at least no one was hurt.
  14. I know you said "no SUVs" but a Suburban would check all Of the boxes except that one. I have owned a Suburban now for 15+ years. It hauls people, luggage, and anything else like no other vehicle. Kids in car seats? Check. Drywall? Check. Pull a trailer? GTFO check. I have even had over 30 bags of mulch in one. They are just great vehicles - in my third one now.
  15. Typical CR - we go from a Dakota to a dually. Waiting for the diesel recommendation unless I missed it.
  16. I had the Rev Shift motor mounts as well but had IPS install them. You will absolutely know if you need motor mounts. The car will feel like it "diesels" on start up and shut down. I felt the diff bushing when shifting - felt "clunky". My car felt amazing after those two fixes. Felt like a new car.
  17. Yup - just dropped the exhaust and jacked up the car. The tool is genius and makes it 1000x easier to get out than breaking out your sawzall. I cannot imagine even trying it without the tool.
  18. I did the bushing in my garage with the CS tool - it was simple. I never had a problem with wheel hop but I rarely drove it as if I stole it.
  19. Send me your up to date resume Cherning@me.com
