  1. While I agree with the general sentiment here (it's a junk yard, not a health spa) I've found Cantley's to have a friendly phone presence.
  2. We'll almost certainly have an open driver spot, we're also planning on hitting several different races this year so I'm sure there will be more opportunities to drive.
  3. Absolutely, must be reasonably straight and hold air, not worried about appearance.
  4. I'm helping to prep a 1985 Camaro for the LeMons/Chump racing series aka $500 crap can racing. The car is in need of much love and even more parts, starting a list below which will undoubtedly grow. Looking for your cast off garbage, your bent and rusty poo-parts. transmission cross member t5 bellhousing clutch/flywheel clutch fork clutch master/slave/line pedal box front calipers - standard size or larger rear calipers performance pads torque arm Twin Fans Radiator 16" wheels
  5. Doing it correctly will require one left hand tap/die and one right hand tap/die. How much is turner charging for their links? If it's excessive I might consider buying the required equipment.
  6. Up late drinking herbal tea and reading Horatio Alger, just thought I'd check in on you kids to make sure everything was going smoothly.
  7. Not pictured: - crashing a wedding reception in costume and tearing up the dance floor - Gorilla stealing all the bananas from the hotel breakfast buffet - cookie monster nearly getting shot in a convenience store - multiple girls trying to have cookie monsters baby
  8. This months GRM is the 2010 challenge edition, apparently the GRM staff enjoyed BileVan. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5056/5454676539_d98cac086a_b.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5135/5454683485_92a8567230_b.jpg
  9. Couple of tricks for removing stuck fasteners: - use a round punch and hammer to shock the screw head - heat lightly with mapp/pro torch followed by a shot of penetrating oil - use the correct size driver in good condition
  10. Oldest non-locked romper thread resurrected: After he had prayed he yelled in a loud voice “LAZARUS, COME OUT!” And sure enough out walked Lazarus still wrapped in his burial clothes! http://www.biblebios.com/master/lazarus/lazarus.jpg
  11. Welcome aboard sir, love the car collection.
  12. Gabe is clearly trying to screw you over, I'll offer teh high-high price of about $3.50/per
  13. It's a prequel, and I agree with the general sentiment, so far it seems even better than last season.
  14. I would prefer used washers of widely differing sizes. I could acid wash new ones but would prefer beat up used ones. Probably will end up visiting some oldschool garages with junk piled in every corner.
  15. Couple of reasons: - washers are the look I'm going for - a stack of washers is a whole lot heavier than a pipe spacer - weight is good. Also, I have three welders
  16. Yes, yes. You were right, all of those rusty steel washers you've been saving really will come in handy. Please sell them to me at a low-low price so that I may build more weird washer-stack creations. Especially interested in washer sizes ranging between 3/4 and 1 1/2 outer diameter. Also open to trading beer for washers. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/125980646/original.jpg
  17. A brand specific indy shop to do a pre-purchase inspection. Seriously, it's completely worth the $75-$120 most places charge. Obviously if the car exhibits signs of neglect/abuse you can skip the inspection and move on to another example. Do not be afraid of miles, be afraid of crappy owners.
  18. BMW 330 ZHP fits in perfectly, they're still pushing the higher end of your price range but they're worth it. I would go for a sedan over a coupe though, I don't like the frame-less window glass in the doors on coupes and I really hate the window regulator design. http://www.reveuro.com/inventory/bmw330i_zhp_10059/bmw330i_zhp_performancepkg_13.jpg
  19. Ending up watching Black Dynamite which is my new favorite movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190536/
  20. 181,000 on my 1997 e150, does around 10mpg while towing at 75mph. It runs on filth and I would tow to the ends of the earth with this thing. http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs703.snc4/62344_2561906846085_1206498792_100961249_2436534_n.jpg
