  1. It's made by XFX, not sure about the full model number. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4779932261_25857734b4_b.jpg
  2. Here's my understanding: - pad material deposited unevenly on the rotor* - the rotor heats unevenly because of the deposits - the rotor warps * pad deposits could be caused by a slightly warped rotor... chicken or the egg here
  3. Stuck the rear engine on a dyno last night thanks to Brian at Dyno Tune Motorsports. The rear engine is a mostly stock 2.0L 16v from a 1991 passat. I have a modded exhaust cam in the intake position for more lift/duration and a slightly adjusted DPR valve. The engine is rated at 134hp crank from the factory so 133whp made me extremely happy. I'm curious to see what the front engine does. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4081/4802169400_0060bc74d8_b.jpg
  4. Stout! Do you think you'll lose or gain after adding an exhaust?
  5. Thanks for an excellent evening Brian, I'm definitely in for more dyno time. My cobbled VW managed 133hp/122lbs ft which is at least 15hp more than I expected from a 200K engine. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4081/4802169400_0060bc74d8_b.jpg
  6. Pair of manual sport seats from an m-technic 1998 318ti Will fit any e36. $300 for the pair http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2672/3799188580_ecbc5d0352_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2472/3798373137_8668281bda_b.jpg
  7. My wife is going to love this, she's all about the dancing outlaw... I have no idea why.
  8. I ended up pulling all the seats and carpet, I tossed the carpet since it was beyond help. I used a combination of oxi clean (not very effective) and knock out (aka purple power/any strong alkaline detergent) to clean the remaining trim. Stink was greatly reduced but not eliminated. On advice from my wife I filled a spray bottle with 100% vinegar and completely soaked the interior from the headliner down. Stink is now 99% gone. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4028/4647239791_1b7919fc95_b.jpg
  9. Lots of good suggestions above, vinegar also works, straight vinegar in a spray bottle.
  10. Gold wheels on white cars are better than the bishops undies, the amberlamps will be excellent as well.
  11. I'll trade you a lock of Garey Busey's hair for that there bondage collar.
  12. Looking for a hitch for my turd van, must be rated for at least 5000lbs (pretty sure they all are) vehicle specs - 1997 ford e150 conversion with non-step bumper. Hitch from any e150 1992-2008 should work.
  13. Open to trades/partial trades. Interested in bench mounted disk sander or reasonably compact home theater stuff. Antec super lanboy aluminum case, missing one of the drive trays, dusty, otherwise in decent condition. $50 4gb Mushkin ddr2 $50 8800gt 256 - $50 Ancient dell, not working. $20 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4082/4780559422_58567e6622_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4115/4780561254_88db9ffcbb_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4082/4779930757_a4818c3f37_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4779932261_25857734b4_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4076/4780566820_83db9349ba_b.jpg
  14. Thought you were going Bavarian? Call it yellow fever, yeever if it must be one word. Or heaver. The yellow beaver heaver. I probably have some parts for that turd, coolant flange, timing belt etc.
  15. The plan is to tow the car to Florida using my heap of crap ford e150, van thread here: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80438 The aluminum exceeds NHRA minimum thickness but there's no way it could stop a hurtling drivetrain. A pair of vertical bars between the floor and the center bar in the roll hoop would be an improvement. I'm most worried about having a flywheel come apart, puncture the aluminum and some fuel lines giving me a flaming bath. Of course this could happen just as easily on the front engine even in the stock configuration. I think other mid engine cars are using stamped steel, nothing special.
  16. Tinman for stainless or any other precision/high quality welding.
  17. I'm sure I'll find out, those cables are notorious for breaking
  18. I'm using cable shifted 5 speed manual transaxles from B3 passat's, I'm using a Wilwood dual cylinder brake pedal to actuate the clutches, said pedal assembly has a balance bar so I can fine tune clutch engagement. So far no problems with incorrect gear engagement.
  19. Fixxored Thanks man, I had a ton of fun making it.
  20. I now have a working shifter, it's ugly and heavy but functional. I still need to fab a reverse lockout release lever. Thinking of heat bluing the steel and giving it a coat of gun oil to keep the rust off. I don't like paint or painting. Parts list: 3x bmw automatic brake pedal pivot tube/bushings/spacer - used as the main x and y axis shifter pivots and the rear shift tower bell crank pivot 1x bmw v8 drive belt tensioner swivel - used for the select motion bell crank swivel 2x Mitsubishi Galant shift cable spherical joints - select motion linkage 4x stock VW 02A shift cables 1x bmw M30 rocker shaft - used for the gear lever 1 zillionx washers - shift knob 1 bmw m30 head bolt - shift knob center shaft bunch of scrap steel was used for the shift tower. Other hardware - scrounged from my parts Passats. Image hotlinked from Tim's pictures of C&C - let me know if this is not ok Tim. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/125980646/original.jpg
  21. I really like the idea but it looks immobile... which is sad. http://assets6.paultan.org/static/300610cummins-450x337.jpg
