  1. I would not buy one. Ergonomics aside, my mouse is pure business, I don't want to notice it on the desk.
  2. Not because I have an opinion about the man or the decisions he made, simply because it's funny: http://homepage.mac.com/mr_bingley/.Pictures/tedvwsmall.jpg
  3. I was expecting that thread tittle to be followed by: you have terrible taste in beer. Seriously, I don't think even the english drink newcastle.
  4. Sounds like a whole lot of field car for $300, turn up the boost and smile until it goes bang.
  5. Dude deserved it after getting those tattoos.
  6. Thanks Doc, if the car was equipped with a 5 speed it would stay in my fleet.
  7. 1995 bmw 325is sold 146,000 miles automatic 2 door white exterior tan interior heated leather seats traction control The car has been meticulously maintained with dealer and independent shop records dating from the present back to 1997. All service and maintenance items are up to date. The car is a pleasure to drive and returns 29mpg in mixed driving with a highway bias. Problems: drivers seat has a tear in the outer bolster clear coat is lifting on the trunk and leading edge of the hood
  8. Apparently those trikes are huffy sliders, I've googled the shit out of them and they appear to be Australian market only. If anyone knows of a similar product available locally I would love to buy a pair. That looks like way too much fun, perfect party activity. http://fatlace.com/stayfresh/files/huffy1ly3-300x225.jpg
  9. http://www.kimini.com/ ^ excellent resource for home built tube chassis cars. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/ ^ I've seen several tube chassis street cars come through the board over the years, the kimini builder is a member along with a ton of other diy fabrication heavy hitters.
  10. Holy shit yes, that car is so right in every way.
  11. Check the valve clearances. Check the exhaust manifold for cracks around the o2 sensor hole. I've seen two of these come through in the last month and one of them had a burned valve possibly as a result of the crack.
  12. HA!!!! Hentia goals... just a little more depraved than anything else
  13. People must be fucking idiots, recessive genes are the only other explanation for the continuing presence of... well, idiots.
  14. If you're still looking for a machine shop, Performance Research on Westerville rd does excellent work and turns things over quickly. Last work they did for me was completed the next day. 3328 Westerville Rd Columbus, OH 43224-3700 (614) 475-8300
  15. More information needed. Was the car running before the timing belt replacement? Did the old belt break?
  16. Placing the transmission in 5th before going for reverse will stop the input shaft rotating, this means it will go into reverse cleanly. You may have a clutch not fully disengaging, the forward gear synchros are able to slow the rotation enough for a clean engagement but the non-synchro reverse has nothing but teeth to soak up that inertia. Assuming they're hydraulic actuated (no adjustment) this means it's time to replace the clutch.
  17. Just to add to what the others have said: - you will want to remove the fan and fan shroud in order to have better access to the thermostat housing - if the housing is plastic buy a new one - buy a new water pump unless you have a record of it being replaced in the last 60K, it's directly below the thermostat so you can save time and future trouble by doing it now. - check your tension and idler pulleys for bearing noise and play, probably a good time to do them also - check the serpentine belt for cracks - if you have no record of the radiator being replaced this is a good time to do that, pulling the radiator also makes the whole job a breeze because of the extra room afforded. Fan - 32mm reverse threads, you will probably need to make, borrow or purchase a tool to hold the water pump pulley still while breaking loose the fan clutch threads. Occasionally a healthy dead blow hammer tap on the 32mm wrench will get the job done. It's not a difficult job as long as you go about it the right way, have the correct tools and remove the fan and shroud. Trying to shortcut it will result in frustration and sore hands. Understeer.com is a local guy who sells all of the parts mentioned, he stocks decent quality stuff (much better than the fail-prone-poo of the chain stores)
  18. Post up a WTB on here and any mazda boards, you know someone has those parts laying around and will let them go on the cheap.
  19. Logic has nothing to do with this, some dealers will grab any excuse to deny a warranty claim. It's just not worth taking a chance, re-installing stock parts > paying for transmission overhaul out of pocket.
  20. You Mazda guys had a way better turnout than the VW people, good show. I brought my e30 dressed in vw guise including a roof rack full of useless crap, they let me park in the vw corral and do the lapping so I guess it worked. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3547/3663701696_cef5525e9f.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2566/3662897793_cd60c601e3.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3351/3663700220_cfe464e7c6.jpg?v=0
  21. You can buy a head cleaner tape at any electronics/big box store. It's just a cassette with some sort of fabric instead of the magnetic tape. Should be under $15
  22. I went up on APR's dime, spent Saturday becoming not sober, camped in further pursuit of pear-shapedness and then managed straighten up enough to do two parade laps on Sunday. Awesome weekend, makes me want to get into road racing in the worst way.
