Congratulations. My uncle Ned ran a marathon with a fake leg, they "graduated" 4 retarded kids from my high school, and Nicholas Cage stars in movies without a stitch of talent. There are exceptions in every normal distribution curve. Point 2: Graduating from college is not the only metric for success. Who's to say that you wouldn't have garnered better leadership skills in a sport or school musical that would have translated to an even better life lot for you right now? By and large, sports encourage the development of assets that are fundamental to social development and could even have been good for you. PS. I was only involved in one non-team "sport" myself, so I am not on some self-validating tirade. I too have excellent social and leadership skills. Maybe they would be even better had I not waited until my mid 20s to get involved in the world.

I think that you would find that most extremists are hypocrites.

School is about more than scholastic learning. Building character and developing social and leadership skills are equally important. Sports, music, and art programs do just that and are absolutely necessary to a quality education.

I agree that people like me should not be able to dictate rules and regulations of an industry I know zero about. I also agree that the HSUS and PITA should have little or no influence as sensationalist activists. I realize that they only have one of the 13 seats. My question is why was it necessary to make a constitutional issue out of it?
-
So what is the need for the board? I am receptive.
-
You don't understand. I am repudiating myself. I was suggesting that my opinion and argument was influenced by the motives and hyperbole of the HSUS not personal experience making me the uninformed undereducated voter I riled against a few posts up. My disagreement is not in line with the HSUS, I don't give a shit about animals other than my own. My point of contention is with the fact that I don't believe industries should regulate themselves, and I don't believe that it was necessary to write a constitutional amendment just to preemptively counter the will of the HSUS.

Weird, I wonder how a noob knew about my adorable nose. I haven't been to an event in years.
-
Clearly the real kind of tough guy "shut the fuck up u pig nose bitch." With a neutral rep this time for a more balanced objective position. I can respect that.
-
I wouldn't want to debate me either.
-
So you are saying, as an urban dwelling, pencil pushing, never met a farmer voter, perhaps I am not qualified to make a decision that dictates nothing more in my monkey-sphere than the price I pay for my chicken?
-
So contest it. What are you waiting for?
-
Not bribes, but ecruing enough signatures to reach the ballot is expensive. Hiring a marketing department to fabricate statistics and give hope to those suffering economic hardship is expensive. Running thousands of commercials and print ads is really expensive.
-
What? You don't support a board dictating standards and practices to impose expensive requirements that only mega-farms can afford? The John Deer store on Westerville road disagrees with you. I wonder who their biggest clients are?
-
The problem, as is so often the case in democracy, is that the majority of voters are either uninformed or legally manipulated with outright hyperbole. Just like issue 2 which was established by Big Agro to further marginalize the small time farmer. It is fucking insane.

I can. Legalize gambling in such away that does not give exclusive rights to a single proprietor. Create a bidding process in which the municipality in which the casino is being built has control over the architecture, aesthetic, and location. Allow municipalities to set tax rates using the investment of the casino establishment as a metric. Allow individual counties to vote for or against inclusion. In other words, do not allow he who stands to gain the most to modify the constitution to establish a legal monopoly.

Evan must be the one who awarded me negative rep and a nice note: "just increasing every one taxes you idiot!"
-
Mercanti Fiorntini's: capped toe today.
-
Too late for that contingency now, it is already in the state constitution.

It should be noted that it failed in Franklin county, 107k to 149k. Columbus is a progressive urban environment focused on arts, dining, and local small business. I don't see Columbus supporting this as enthusiastically as Cleveland or Cinci; two shit holes clammoring for anything to boost their local economies. (full disclosure: I am from Cleveland) Thus why columbus is getting: http://www.walkerevanseffect.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/hollywood-casino.jpg and Cleveland is getting: http://media.cleveland.com/metro/photo/dan-gilbert-cleveland-casinojpg-9ecfcbfeedee1b00_large.jpg

Walker wrote a good commentary against the passage. I, like many on CU, have no problem supporting Casinos in Ohio. But this bill sucks. The current preliminary designs call for a one story casino just like the one pictured. Cleveland will have a huge multi-story glass complex sponsored by the majority owner of the Cavs.

I like how someone gave me bad rep and called me an "idiot" anonymously for supporting a school levy. Have the intellectual fortitude to debate your position loser.
-
I was a power lifter through high school, I've been there. Priorities change when you get older.

I disagree with establishing a legal monopoly that benefits just one Casino proprietor. If a monopoly were established, I disagree with such a favorable tax rate being awarded. The "4th highest in the country" BS sounds great until you find out there are only 6-7 different rates. Pennsylvania's rate is 55%, Maryland is 66%. Yes Vegas is only 8% but they never wrote a monopoly into their constitution. Additionally, the plans call for a single story monstrosity that will resemble our neighbor's "Hollywood Casino". Look for pictures and prepare to be disappointed. We aren't voting to get the Bellagio.

Started today. I'm in semi good shape; I bench 280ish, can run a few miles, Squat and dead-lift a decent amount. The first workout made me almost throw up. Tony Horton's ego is over the top.

No to the first 3, Yes for Westerville schools.
