thanks for the offer to borrow the tools...im *thinking* i want to do tile, but i know i hate walking on cold floors...i know something like linoleum wont be as cold, but i also know it can look cheap and thats not what i want with nice cabinets and countertops...once i get into it and take the floors up, i really want to find out how the slab is layed out underneath...my g/fs dad said it should be beams, but it feels like solid concrete underneath...i want to do something to try to insulate the floor somehow so its not so cold in the winter.

ugh...i was hoping i could finish it with 2 of us working every day and a couple extra hands on a few of the days. thanks for the input

if you did it yourself (ie, not hiring a company), how long did it take you for your remodel, and how much work was included? i think this is one of the projects i would like to tackle once it starts to get warm out...i plan on moving the fridge from one spot to another, and putting a pantry where it used to be...but really other than that, its going to be taking out old cabinets and replacing with new. also im going to be putting in granite counter tops, but i have a feeling that im going to have to wait until everything is in place before i can have them come out and measure for the countertops. also planning on replacing the floor (have some ugly white wood stuff down i hate), but im not sure what i want to put down yet. if i have help from someone who is a carpenter, and help from a couple family members when they can make it over, is this something i should be able to get done if i were to take a week off work? i plan to have the majority of the stuff (cabinets, floor, etc) ordered and here before we start, but im also sure there will be trips to lowes, but its only 1/2mi away, so no biggie.

my g/fs sister bought their dog a big ass horse bone...or at least it looks like it came off a horse...hes a black lab mix and can tear some shit up. i keep saying they just need to make a rawhide flavored rock... but the horse bone has been around for a few weeks and theres still a bunch left...no clue how much it was or where they got it

they told us friday at 1ish that if we felt that it would be unsafe to drive later, we could leave for the day without an occurence, but it would be unpaid time...my sup was walking by and i told him (jokingly) that one of our work at home people had just called me and i told her what was going on, and she asked if it went for them too...he looked at me for a second like "wtf", then i had to tell him i was just fucking with him.

my buddy told me this past tuesday he was going to visit a friend of ours in pittsburgh this weekend... saturday i woke up about 1pm to the news saying "and heres shots from pittsburgh...they got 21.5", the 4th most snowfall for the city on record" or something to that effect...i sent him a text asking if he still went out there and he said he did and they had JUST gotten the power back on and they were on the way to his parents shop to pick up the snow blower. i laughed. but pittsburgh is a shitty ass city to drive in in GOOD weather...fuck driving all those hills/curves/one way streets/cars parked on the sidewalks/etc with 21" of snow

to get all the stuff replaced? it should be on fossils website...i think the place is called "metro service station" and its down in TX.

dunno...havent even tried to do it...the last one that the battery went dead, the glass also had some scratches on it, and fossil has a thing where i can send it in and for $27, they'll replace the battery, band, clasp, and ship it back...basically they only reuse the case. im not going to send them all in though for batteries only. ill google around for the tool and how hard it is to change it out
