Oh just to add about one of the questions a reporter asked. It was something to the extent of why the president continues to hype what's going on in Iran.....Like i said before Bush said nothing about Iran when he got out there, but was constantly asked useless questions about it from these same reporters. I want to know why they keep trying to hype it up. Just venting really

So did anyone watch the press conference this morning? Those reporters that asked about Iran are the idiots. For one, Bush didn't even mention Iran in the opening statement, he was talking about all the appropriations bills that congress is delaying (which included my freakin raise, so hurry it up democrats) and some reporters asked decent questions about the housing market and such that in a way had to do with it. But these other idiots in the front row constantly asked the same damn questions about Iran and how the NIE states that Iran does not have a nuke program. So of course Bush would give them the same answer every time. If the reporters even read the NIE it states that Iran bought weapons grade fissile material, but not enough and that is part of the reason they halted, not having enough material. Wow, seems to be one of the thing they're working on now isn't it. It also states that it is not known if the program would halt indefinitely and they could decide to start it again once they get the technical and industrial means. "Oh, you mean like longer range ballistic missiles and weapons-grade uranium? That they're working on right now?" Idiots Pointless conference though, I want to know when congress is going to give me my money

If you would have read, I said I didn't agree with any liberties being taken away. The point I was making is that there have been way more taken away in the past, that today can't even compare. Then I asked if the laws in place now really affect your life that much? What does that have to do with anything? You're absolutely right, criminals are going to get guns no matter what. But honest people aren't, but honest people can still get pissed at their ex, their boss, blah blah blah. Somebody who dosen't know how to use a gun or shouldn't have a gun, should have a tougher time getting one. Criminals are obviously different, so he just made sure his cops were as efficient as they could be. With better checks on outstanding records (like the serial killer that was arrested for jumping a turnstile) and a better tracking system (Compstat, which just about every large police force uses a version of now).

Have you ever taken a history course? You'd see during world war 2 many people lost their rights completely, hell japanese-americans were held in camps. During the cold war, McCarthy times especially, everybody was worried about the "threat from within" that so many civil liberties...or I guess liverties...were taken away in fear of the USSR. We have a new enemy and new actions to be taken. Do I agree with liberties being taken away? No, but I also don't feel like we lost any. Sure theres longer lines at the airport, and sure you need a passport to go to Canada, but so what? How badly does that really affect your day-to-day life to keep at least some people safe. And for the record Giuliani is all for the second amendment, but obviously in places with murder rates in the thousands (i.e. new york in the 90's) something has to be done with gun control. If someone needs a gun right this second, they probably shouldn't have one

Even if you legalize it, I guarantee every employer that does drug tests, will still do drug tests and will not hire those who smoke. I've seen enough stoned people, the so-called "happy and relaxing" set things on fire, even inside their house, or smash things in neighbor's yards to "set it free" or go out and drive and either swerve all over the road or actually hit curbs, poles etc or even other cars. Its illegal, if you want to keep repeat posession offenders out, don't make it legal, tell them to stop breaking the law.
