also terron, i've seen this happen way too many times. people talk alot about the sweetest car they can have long term project and all that good stuff but less than 5% actually finish the project don't waste your money and time on something you may never finish after reading through that again i still can't figureo ut what you meant about hte cosmo motor. the cosmo motor is a twin turbo THREE rotor motor that came in the COSMO in japan...:confused:still personally whether it be a rotary RX-7/ SBC RX-7 or any other sort of project car i would always have a beater if you really like to go have fun in your car and use all the horsepower shit is going to break. so just get a beater and do whatever the hell u want with your project. and yesespecially with an RX-7 i woul dhave a beater, i love mine!

btw the FD doesn't come with the cosmo engine stock....

btw remember to change ur oil more often, with the rotary ur oil will start to smell like fuel (means ther eis fuel in ur oil which isn't the best thing)

alright there man lemme see, i had the hot start problem which went away not sure exactly what i fixed but i can give you some shit to look at i've heard running injector cleaner can be bad for your seals. i would take them out and have them all cleaned and blue printed, or if ur going to upgrade secondaries, now is the time. There have been problems where the fuel pump wire is just old, there are several write ups on rx7club.com and teamfc3s.org to help you with rewiring the pump and making sure its receiving all the voltage. hot start problem also some people say it points to low compression, with 83k(or whatever) on the motor that definitely might be a problem. I had my fuel injection relay fuck up, i even had to get towed it was a hard feeling to describe but sounds similar, there isa metal box with 1 screw holding it on to the inside of the driver side fender inside the engine bay, after driving a while touch it and see if its very very warm(or when ur car feels like its failing) very expensive peice at the dealer but very cheap at the junkyard btw) fuel filter is a good idea. but probably not the problem. TPS (throttle position sensor) it is a bitch make a test light or use a voltmeter, i have yet to be succesful in testing with either of those two the only reason i got it right was B/C i used my SAFC to adjust the TPS. I think ihave an extra TPS laying around. as far as stuttering check and make sure your throttle plates have free movement, they suck maybe do the throttle body mod while ur at it. takes a while but once u get all the lil probs out of it u'll love it. if i think of anything else i'll post, also if you need help don't hesitate to ask. btw if you do a compression test make sure the car is warm

ok replying for the sake of archives. turned out the starter was bad, Dave(gas grass or ass) helped me out. said that sometimes the testers at the store have only short lengths of wire and also much more amperage to offer than your normal 220k mile corolla so the starter will check ok but it really isn't. got a new starter everything is great new clutch and tranny feel awesome, no more clicking CV joints (new halfshafts), new stater. hopefully its ready for the 70 mile round trip commute to honda for the summer btw big thanks to dave, matt(tinman), clark(dunno his name on here, but he has a purple neon), and doug(doug). for helping me out at various stages w/knowledge and tools. this was my first tranny swap! yay!

alright so new tranny,clutch,halfshafts put everything back together and well the car won't start now tested the battery, its fine pulled the starter and tested it its fine. when i turn the key u hear one click and the lights dim like its trying and then when u release u hear another click. anyone have any leads? new news: hooked the starter up on my car but didn't mount it. had someone turn the key while i looked, and the startergear comes out but doesn't turn. at lower RPMS like under 3k, its been stuttering, nothing major i would just like to know what it is. feels almost like detonation. what could it be?
