I have a great relationship with both my parents. They are still married. We moved here from Argentina when I was almost 2. I have no borhters or sisters so we are all we have here and we stick together. I talk to my parents at least 3 times a week. They usually come stay at my house two weekends a month. They don't smother me when they are here but we still get to hang out. I <3 my parents.

Depends on the car look at resale values when getting a car. you will lose cash when you drive it off the lot but if you get a brand new car you will know that it wasn't abused during its break in period and are able to upkeep on all its maintenance. I know I plan to keep my civic for a long long time so the initial drop in price is worth it, on top of the fact that interest rates are lower on new cars. If you sell your car after 2 yrs yeah you are going to lose money. I use my parents as an example. They had a Mitsubishi Expo, love the damn thing (298k miles now). Bought it new in 1994 and still drive it. They loved it so much they got another one in 2002, with only 98k. The owner showed maintenance receipts and everything....we had such good luck with the other one what could go wrong? damn thing started consuming oil in 10k miles. This story is how I justify buying a new car.

No its called being smart, CARMAX being the worse case senario as far as what he can expect to get out of the car so he doesn't get stuck with it.

Don't buy a kia, ur probably better off buying a scooter. remember, you get what you pay for. KBB of $10k on that car doesn't mean it will actually go for that much. Remember the economy is slumping. I would suggest you take the car to CARMAX so you can at least get an idea of what you will get if you just want to dump the car. If you can sell it to CARMAX and get at least 1k extra it might be worth it. But keep in mind eveytime you buy a car you are going to pay taxes. in the end its probably not worth the hassle. You are 21 and don't need the hassle of a car payment either.

Man that sounds great. Glad you are able to take another step forward. Once you start building a name for yourself in a niche in the racing environment you will have it made.

The OEM is nice but here is my main reason for getting it. - I got tired of AAA's bank hours about 45 mins from my house. So instead of having to leave work at 3 everytime I have to get a map for every trip I go on, I got this instead of renewing my membership. - The OEM one I can take with me when I go for work, or when I want to use it in my truck when we go out 4 wheeling. The Garmin is sweet, its not perfect (like any new technology) but its pretty darn close. It is worth every penny.

What are the 3 best LCD TV's for under $1500 at Circuit City?
Berto replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Dumpster
But everytime you go into a store to buy whatever the latest craze is an open a new acct because they have the 0% interest it shows on your credit as a credit score inquiry and if you open it a new account with no time lapse on it. -
I might do that today, I have that spare socket, thanks for the input! I don't mind the GPS down low like that. its not like I am constantly looking down at it!

don't finance a TV, just save up and buy it. I second Fowlers post. Samsung or Sony. Remember you get what you paid for. -
So I posted this as a DIY on the civic forum and I'm bored now so i'm posting it here to. What are your opinions on it? So I recently got my Garmin Nuvi 650 from Costco ($299 FYI!). The suction cup mount sucks, a lot, and not in a good way. It seems that the damn thing falls off after an hr of driving. So the next natural thing was for me to look for alternative mounts on ebay. I decided to go with the cigarette lighter mount. The seller is Trueion (trueion.com). The best way to look for this thing on ebay is 'Powered Garmin GPS Mount'. I got it for ~$20 after shipping. Well After getting it I realized it was complete junk, I wouldn't trust my GPS on it! I decided not to return it since the shipping was half the price of the item, by the time I shipped it back I would only get like $6 back out of $20. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own mount.:cheerleader: First I went ahead and removed the center console that surrounds the shifter, this includes the plastic pocket/cubby hole infront of the shifter. Then I looked through my brackets and happened to have one in my bin of parts. You can get this at any hardware store, I actually think I got this one at Walmart. Below is a picture of the cigarette lighter mount that sucks. I took it apart at the elbow, this was pretty easy because its held up with wing nuts. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00010600x450.jpg The next step for me was to bolt everything together as I envisioned it and make sure it wasn't going to interfere with the cigarette lighter or the lip on the console bin. The two next pictures show me putting it into place http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00014.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00015.jpg Next you are going to want to get your drill out and mark up the holes using the bracket you bought and choose the right bit depending on the size of the screws you decided to buy. I bought some low profile head screws because I was unsure how the interface we are drilling into interacts with the rest of the dash. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00016.jpg Then mount up your contraption! I used washers and wing nuts. The reason I chose to use wing nuts was because they are easy to adjust and remove if needed. I can take out this mount in less than 5 minutes with no tools. Also the wing nuts are hidden under the bin lip. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00017.jpg The cigarette lighter section has little teeth at the elbow (tried to show them in the picture). Since I like to over engineer things I cut a peice of Dynamat and put it on the metal L-bracket to give the teeth something to sink into and keep the elbow in the bracket from wiggling lose with use. It was holding fine without the Dynamat though. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00018.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00019.jpg The following are progressive pictures of how everything was completed and is put together! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00020.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00023.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/GPS%20Mount/DSC00026.jpg Give me some Rep points I don't have any yet!

How long does it take to register your quad in Ohio? What is the Fee? I checked with a ranger and I have to register it in ohio (BMV) AND buy the day pass. It isn't enough that I am registered in Indiana:(

The bank that told me 9+% was Wells fargo! I called them because my dad went though them for a refinance. To tell you the truth at this point after talking with a few banks I am honestly fed up with all the BS. I decided I'm not going to refinance. I am just going to dump all the extra money I can afford into the monthly payment. After hearing the news for some time I can't help feeling that every refinance contract is some sort of scam. Oh the other thing is that I owe $106k, wells fargo said we can only give you a loan for $116k. I said well, I don't want 116, I want 106. They said thats the only way they can do it. They seriously drove me nuts! I had another offer for 4.75% on an FHA loan but the closing costs were like $5k non negotiable. Thats a crock. What are your opinions on FHA loans? btw, I almost went to Ft. Myers for a bus. trip. If I went I was like, "I should stay the weekend and drive down to chill with Clay!" But I was too busy with other work to make it, maybe next time.
