Hey guys next mod for the FC is wheels but I can't decide which ones to get (I'm sure you all have been there). 18x8 Front and 18x9 Rear Right now the current leader is the staggered mesh wheels with some nice lips. I like the look AND the stock FC runs a mesh wheel on the 91 and verts. So it still has a 'stockish' look. VWs suck, a lot. I spent my evening driving around the state of Indiana. My girl went to Ikea in Cinci with her sister and niece. Near the Indiana border the Jetta developed flashing lights and a misfire.

I have a 32 gallon Husky with the 5 hp oil less motor. Its loud. But the nice thing is that its on wheels. If I need to take it to a friends house to work on something...I can. If I need to move it anywhere its no problem at all. Also, it was cheap. I got it a homedepot for....$199 I think with the hose, impact wrench, air ratchet, die grinder, and other stuff.

Yeah I still work at Cummins. If I remember right 18psi is the threshold. If you could lower it to 10-15psi for the injection pump inlet pressure I think that would be best. The main things with these pumps is, like you said, a good lift pump (not failing). Theoretically, as long as the inlet pressure to the VP44 does not go into vacuum you should be good. Also, like he said, if you have a VP44 pump that is running strong; don't change it!

I would be surprised if that is ACTUALLY 500 ppm sulfur fuel, it would be against EPA regulations. Off-road and on road fuel is all the same. The only difference is that the offroad fuel is not taxed, it is tinted with red die so that law enforcement can tell who is trying to beat the system by using non taxed fuel for on highway applications.

I have a 23,000 BTU kerosene convection heater. ($100 @ tractor supply). What I like about it, is that it heats the garage PLENTY and doe not require plugging into the outlet like the torpedo heaters. The reason being that if my power goes out I can use this heater for a little while. Even though its kerosene, it is safe to use indoors, just as a safety measure I have a carbon monoxide alarm too.

While lubrication with the ULSD fuel is a concern, you hit the important stuff right on the head. Everyone and their mom knows that VP44s are sensitive to inlet restriction. Failed lift pumps = way too much restriction! The main thing I wanted to say though is that 18 psi at idle is pretty high for VP44's, any higher and I've heard that the pressure actually locks the pump....just an FYI.
