  1. I purchased a Macbook last year on Black Friday. Previous to that, I exclusively used PC's and I didn't know a damn thing about OSX. My PC is a 1.8 Celeron with 1GB RAM and a 40GB hard drive. I wanted something mobile for obvious reasons. Around this time, Vista was relatively new. I didn't know much about Vista except that I couldn't get many laptops without it, and from what I heard you needed an exubarant amount of RAM to run it properly. I searched and searched and searched and after awhile, I started checking into macs. I dig the iPod, I dig the iPhone, and figured why not. It's pretty cool, nothing mind blowing. I don't brag to my friends about it. My PC IT buddy hates on it......but who cares!! Apple does one thing VERY well. It keeps things simple. The interface is very simple and it has some interesting features. I like the iLife software, which is Mail, iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, Garage Band, iWeb, and others. They all work together well. There are not a gazillion lights, gizmo's, gadgets, trinkets, flahsing and stinking out of this laptop. I recently brought home an HP laptop from work and this thing has more ports, lights, and trinkets than the batmobile. The HP is a clusterfuck of random things that I have trouble understanding which button I use to turn up the contrast/brightness or where the wifi button is, it's just insane!! I didn't need all of these features and the Macbook had most of what I needed. Pros: Wireless N MagSafe power adapter(kick a regular power cord and find out what happens) One button mouse(tough to get used to, but better IMO) Simple interface Simple physical design Cons: Price Cheap one is white I don't regret my purchase and I'll probably purchase more Apple products in the future.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. Ignortantly, I've been there, but never seen the roses. I'll have to check this out!!
  3. How many times can you sell it? Really, everyone and their mother lies about how much they paid for the car on their title. I see it all the time.
  4. It's not that I specifically feel this way.....but this can be a perception. Fiscal doings are very multi-dimensional. Relating them directly is next to immpossible. The picture can be painted that as the tax cuts were implemented in 2001, serious budget shortfall began on the federal level. These tax cuts should have been followed by budget cuts in the federal gov't. So the money that stayed in taxpayers hands, actually was a "loan" issued by the federal gov't. And while practcally everyone across the board benefitted.....those who benefit the most in terms of $$, not percentages.....will have the finger pointed at them....ie "the rich". I did exxagerate, but this is how it is percieved by some. The gov't is borrowing at a faster rate, while the "rich" have paid less taxes at a faster rate. On the flip side, we have seen arguably, how resilient our economy is..........so far.....I'm personally amazed. But.....Personally, I think that it should be illegal for any governmental system to run deficits, period. This whole borrowing thing.....has no accountability. And yes, term limits would be very nice.
  5. I'll bite. If the governement is not going to reduce spending, we cannot continue to run deficits like this. We can scream "quit spending" all we want, but no one is listening. They will never quit spending.....quite frankly, we're not screaming loud enough. With McCain I see tax stability/tax breaks with increased spending. With Obama I see tax increases with increased spending. As much as it painstakingly kills me to say it. I'd rather have someone that pays to play, than borrows to play. All the recent taxe breaks have been financed with DEBT. The American gov't has LENT $$$$$$$$ to the upper class in our country. That's how I see it. In addition, Obama is in favor of PAYGO. With every spending increase there must be a tax increase. Basically, whomever decides they want to spend money, they have to figure where they are going to get it from. On a side note. Taxes blow. I hate them. And if I get taxed more, I'm going to do what everyone of you hard working motherfuckers are going to do.......I'm going to make more money. If they are going to take more, I'm going to find a way to make up that difference. And some of these figures that some of you put out are just plain silly http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Barack_Obama_Tax_Reform.htm
  6. If your paying 48%, your not playing the game right......and for someone who has such a large income, I'm suprised your not more intuitive to change this figure.
  7. Well file suit.....he was born in the Panama Canal. http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/02/28/america/28mccain.php
  8. That's a job that an American just won't do.
  9. This man speaks the truth. Too many people treat the symptom and not the problem. Not getting enough sleep isn't the problem, it has to be somewhere else. ......and personally, my sleep is shitty after beers or anything PM(Tylenol/Advil)...I go to sleep, it's just not as relaxing.
  10. I'll take picture number two in your sig................j/k Hopefully it turns out the way it should.

  12. Wiggidy....wiggidy....wiggidy whack. I just got off the phone with Detective Jones. I have forwarded emails and have given contact information. Sorry I got to the Detective late.........but I heard that snitches get stitches somewhere and got scared. J/K.....in all honesty, I saw it last week, but just now it clicked, so I grabbed my phone and gave him a buzz
  13. I hope your keeping your payments in gold bullion or silver bars. Have fun trying to get your money out of "defunct" banks that the FDIC or federales can't insure. It doesn't look good in terms of the central banking system in general....your right. The sad thing is people don't see what is really happening. Most only see what's in front of them. Banks have been hedging their bets, thinking that the rules of economics somehow don't play a part. The economy.......economy isn't great, but it could be worse. I'm worried about the monetary system.
  14. Your beating a dead horse. What happens when the government can no longer lend money because it is bankrupt?? Watch a couple of big banks fail and it will be interesting to see what happens. The biggest problems I see the fact that banks are demanding more deposits from consumers. For far too long the banks have become arrogant, once again.....reminding you of any other time in our nations history??? Everyone is always banking on the federal government "rescuing" everything.....well what happens when their rescue boat sinks?
  15. Well shit......my monthly budget just got larger. Beers on me tonight fellas!!
  16. How about we set up a "sting" op.........you bring beer, the crew will follow? It should be fun.
