  1. Dash looks like a Second Gen, but confused about the 3.8L comment. Is this something other than a 13B (Maybe with a periperal port)? Miss the simplicity of my second gen RX7's (Had 4 of them).

2nd gen with a 3.8 V6 out of a4th gen Camaro. Restricted to 185rwhp and ballasted up to 2850lbs. to meet class rules.

My later sessions were a bit faster, it's been over a year since I drove Ledges and was a little rusty. But the video from the later sessions lacked Ferrari therefore much less interesting.

  2. Anyone know of a local place that carries ATE type 200 brake fluid?

Please no " you should try x brand fluid because my buddy has it in his car and it's super fast" bullshit:fuuuu: ATE works perfect for my application and I don't want to wait 3-5 days to have it delivered from an online retailer.

  3. More video for those that want to find their way around the track before they get there.

Don't be the guy in the yellow Miata. If someone is behind you wanting to pass, drive your line and don't worry about the car(s) in your mirror. When you get to the straights, let them pass and then continue to enjoy.

  4. Just in time for June's Nelson Ledges track day. 5 slicks with one to two heat cycles on them.

These are basically the Hoosier R6 carcass with a slightly harder compound and no DOT grooves. Although marked as 225 they are as wide as most 245 street tires.

Not as fast as an A6 or R6 but far better than any street tire.

    $120 for all 5

  5. Get a rough initial plan together and see where it goes.

I don't have the time for any of the organizational type duties but I can offer time for fabrication and a tow up in a well equipped enclosed trailer. I have a little enduro experience and a crap ton of laps around Ledges.

I haven't read the ChumpCar rules, how similar are they to the LeMons rules?

  6. Getting held up in the corners by slow drivers with fast cars can be aggravating. Worse than that is qualifying first in your class and having to grid behind a swarm of Spec Miatas in the race and work your way through them.

I haven't uploaded any of my videos yet but I make an appearance in the rear view mirror of this Miata around 4:50 in this one and drive away from there.

Going three wide into turn one because awesomeness allows such things.

  7. Haha, another victim falls prey to the road course addiction.

You've driven the slickest track in the Midwest when it rains and survived, congrats.

If you ever need anything at the track, I'm always at the NASA Mid Ohio events. Look for the black FC #387. I'm usually paddocked around garages 27/28.

  8. Cliffnotes?

Thread is 25 pages long. I know lemons has the right to crush your car at any time they choose during the race. I'm guessing that's what happened...

    Race is in two weeks.

Before each Lemons race the BS judges look over each car and penalize teams they think spent more money than allowed in the rules on their car. The rule writer thought he would be a smart ass and wrote in the rules "Radial engines are exempt from BS laps." This guy is calling him on it.

  9. If you go, around what time would Black Betty be appearing?

Don't get excited. Black Betty is the V6 powered race car, not the SB2 powered one.

To answer your question though, since my new trailer is still being built I have to borrow a friends trailer, an open trailer. Although Black Betty races in the rain I prefer to transport her in the dry, the weather may be the determining factor of my ETA.
