  1. House at 72. Garage at 70 when I'm working, 50 when vacant.
  2. Nationwide series adds another roadcourse, and a great one to boot. I may actually watch more than 4 races this coming season. http://nascar.speedtv.com/article/nns-series-to-race-at-road-america-in-2010/
  3. The Viper was wearing a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, not your run of the mill street tire but far from the capabilities of a full racing slick. To put it in perspective, a heat cycled out set of Hoosier Koni Challenge slicks, which are not an all out super aggressive tire to begin with, were worth about two seconds a lap over a fresh set of Bridgestone RE-01Rs, a pretty series street tire, on my RX7 at Nelson Ledges. This is on an 80 second lap so we're looking at a 2.5 percent gain in lap times from a crap slick to a great street tire.
  4. Okay, Name one thing a rotary can do better than a piston engine.
  5. Not bad for a hack job with low buck tools and equipment.
  6. :barf: Not a single redeeming quality. Curious, what do you find attractive about it?
  7. The FC oil cooler is an upgrade for the first gens, it does take some fab work though. Either way he will need an efficient good size oil cooler. Because of the oddness of the rotary the oil acts as a coolant along with the coolant passing through the radiator.

Pepsi!, the Bell only serves Pepsi. Fucking newb:nono:
  11. V6 RX7. Street tires time was from a borrowed lap timer, hand timing was from a fellow RX7 driver at Nelson. No wrist watches tapped to the steering wheel involved;)
  12. Officially it is but no one cares. Nelson is by far the most laid back track I have ever been to of any type. And they can be because no one causes any problems. Even if you've never been there, it's like going to a family reunion meeting distant famuily for the first time. Back to the timing, personal best on street tires 1:20:16, slicks 1:18:5ish* (hand timed from observation tower)
  13. I'm all for this but it would be very unlikely to pull off. Only a small handful of people on here have a car legal for such an event or a comp license. The only way to do it would be at an open lapping day or HPDE event comparing lap times.
  14. http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31668 Just thought I would pass it on.
  15. The V6 car is getting tore down to a bare unibody with every component cleaned inspected and painted. I'll be welding in an extensive cage and try to get the weight down to 2500lbs. Pulling the fenders to make room for 245 Hoosier R6s on all for corners. Then fresh paint inside and out and decide what number to put on the sides next to the TTD/PTD designations. The V8 car will remain on jackstands.
  16. Give your dad my best Dan. So good to hear he should be fine. He's all hi tech now carrying around some titanium:cool:
  17. Good, I thought I was going to have to drive up to Sunbury and slap you across the face with a cast iron cylinder head. I dig the BMW and all, but the Ford fits you better.
  18. I have one but it may be a bit more than your looking for. Rust free, TII diff and axles, big brakes all 4 corners, full cage....
  19. Stopped in for a hard to find part and a couple easy ones. Dave went above and beyond to make it happen. Much Thanks!

To be competitive over $1000 in tires per weekend plus a set of rains and intermediates on hand in case of rain. Fuel , a tank a day in the car and 12mpg or less in towing the car to the track. Entry fees, $300 and up for NASA events plus test days. Other expendables like brake pads and rotors, oil and other fluids. And don't forget the $1500 minimum investment in safety gear that you'll be wearing, even more for higher quality gear.
