  1. Reminds me of a one of our family vacations in Canada. About midweek we all boarded our 25' Sea Ray cabin cruiser for a short trip down the Lower Buckhorn to the Gallery on the Lake, we being my 3 of my family and 5 of another particularly larger type built family. Well the old Sea Ray was only outfitted with a single 260hp Mercruiser I/O and could not get on plane with all 8 of us on the deck. My father was at a loss of words trying to ask the elder two of the other family to make the trip in cabin of the boat so we could make the trip at more than 15 knots.
  2. It's a 1973 Porsche color, painted at the factory.

As long as it's not snowing, I'm in. Hal?
  4. For as many mods you have, I would say your down on power judging by your trap speed. For reference my bone stock 3.8 with only headers and exhaust traps 94.xxmph at a race weight of 2900lbs. I'm sure you Firebird is a few pounds heavier but the power to weight ratio doesn't add up for the work you have done. Where was it tuned and by who?
  5. I came across these looking for something completely different. Very cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRVLpWR8O1I&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCjBZEGclS4&feature=related
  6. I will not be doing any straight line racing with the car anytime soon. No wheel screws were installed.
  7. Brand new, mounted on wheels, bolted on car, taken off car after 10 minutes, dismounted, now for sale. Retail is $165 each, save some cash, $250 for both.
  8. We are off as soon as Derek arrives. We won't hit I71 untill the Mid Ohio exit but we might run into you guys on the way up.
  9. FYI, If you want to save some time in traffic turn right on RT36/37 then left on Concord Crossing, then another left on Castle Road. It will dead end at Sportsman Club Road just yards away from the entrance. Google maps for more details.
  10. Having an engine that belongs in a small truck is definitely an odd way to go for running on a roadcourse. But with the broad torque curve I only have to change gears 6 times at Mid Ohio, 4 times at Putnam Park, and 3 times at Nelson Ledges. Also it allows the gas pedal to act as steering wheel in the high speed turns as well as the tight ones. It wasn't my first choice, just the least expensive. But it works very well as a good mpg daily driver that is decently capable on the track.
  11. That's a possibility also but considering the sale of the track and Ohio's October weather, the sooner the better.

  13. BBS vert wheels narrowed to 4 1/4" with Mickey Thompson 25 4.5 15" E/T Fronts. Lincoln Town Car rear wheels widened to 8.5" with 26 10.5 15" Mickey Thompson E/T Streets. Fitment is perfect for the FC, see pics, but they may fit others. Tires are brand new and have been stored in a climate controlled garage and protected from UV light. The front wheels need some cleaning and possibly refinishing to be perfect. The rears are in great shape. I don't see myself taking the V8 car down the 1320 in the future, at least not looking for a low 60' so it's time to let these go to someone that can use them as intended. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/100_1341.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/100_1345.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/100_1349.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/100_1347.jpg $850 firm
  14. 1 1/2" .120" wall D.O.M. $4.00 per foot. I have around 10' in stock

    bored at home

You can always stop back out here and help with the last minute thrash on the Neon. Or just make fun of us working on it.
  16. Yes the green Neon is now temporarily put out to pasture. It will return to race another day but for now it is faster to build a new car hence the 30 day miracle Neon. Jack's seat, harness, Hans device, helmet and cage enabled him to walk away with only a sore neck and bruised knee. We pulled a bare Neon shell out of a barn less than a month ago and it is currently being caged out here in J-town. Four more bars to go and the cage will be done then it's off for paint and assembly.
  17. They are running Watkins Glen this weekend. Tune in for a minute, you may be surprised at the entertainment value of 3400lb. 780hp cars running 2 wide through the bus stop.
  18. Okay, who has the O'rly owl pics.
  19. BTW, the point to this thread is to get those who have built or bought cars capable of accelerating, turning, and braking to actually drive them on course and take advantage of their car's abilities. I get tired of people on here bragging about how well their car handles but never actually experience it. It's worse than drag racing dyno numbers IMO. So for those that built a high horsepower car for drag or roll racing but retained wide radials on all four corners and bolted on the latest and greatest in high dollar coilovers, it's time to put up or shut up.
  20. Have fun in the Subaru and pray for rain. Be sure to stop by our paddock and check out the 30 day miracle Neon.
  21. It's a freakin blast! I must warn you, road courses are very addictive.
  22. Nelson Ledges Fun Days are $120 or $130. NASA Events are $300-$350 per weekend or $150-$175 for a Friday only. You must be a NASA member to sign up but membership is only $40 and comes with plenty of perks and discounts.
  23. September 5th, October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. Unfortunately Nelson Ledges has been sold and rumor has it that they will be shutting down after Labor Day for a complete revamp of the facilities and track. If this holds true there is also another NASA event at Mid Ohio and one at Putnam Park this year.
  24. I'm guessing the NASA Mid Ohio event is full by now but Nelson Ledges has a few Fun Days left this season.
