  1. I'm not sure what outputs the LC-1 has, but I figure it has a lambda output as well as AFR. It's sort of personal preference as to how you want your readout to be. When I first switched over, I was used to looking at AFR so I kept it that way and eventually switched over to lambda. If you decide to use the AFR reading, then basically you are shooting for the same AFRs as gasoline except more power can be made with ethanol when you are on the rich side. For example, if you made best power at 13.2:1 on gasoline, with ethanol it may be at 12.8:1. I'm just throwing out numbers for example. That was probably confusing.
  2. While I wish setting the car on fire was an option, not just yet... http://www.plastikhosting.net/uploads/tristanlee85/broken_vband.jpg Since this pretty much as to be done on the car to make sure the angle right, I was planning on tacking the v-band flanges together at the turbine, and then about 5" out from the turbine, cut the downpipe and weld in a new set of flanges for a v-band. The problem with the current location is that the v-band was always touching the header so it had a good bit of stress on it. Basically what I am going to do is cut and tack this all up myself with my mig, and then hoping one of you fine fellers' can finish it up with a nice weld for me. I'll buy all the supplies needed and beer and dinner if you would like. I really can't afford $200 for a shop to do it. I'll be able to bring it by later in the evening or the weekend. Let me know if you're willing to help. Deals Gap is in 2 weeks.
  3. Looks like you should be reconsidering which DD is more fun and fuel efficient.
  4. Because I am not using the Saturn ECU, and fuel mileage != fuel efficiency. An easy way to determine you additional fuel requirement between fuels is to take the stoichiometric values of the fuels and divide them: 14.68 for gasoline / 9.87 for E85 = 1.487. So roughly, at stoichiometric conditions, you require 49% more fuel.
  5. Hey I count my mileage every tank. lol And turbos and big injectors don't mean anything. It only means something when you are in boost 100% of the time. I get 25mpg in E85 and about 42 on gasoline, but I generally don't drive with a lead foot.
  6. Actually it's more like 45% - 49% (compared to 100% gasoline, not E10), but either way... I think they should make it a $1 per gallon. That would make me happy.
  7. Maybe they just fucked up the numbering then. This is the Kroger on 665 near FedEx. I had a typo too. It listed $3.28 on their sign. I'm hoping the 3 should have been a 2. That would be your $.30 savings right there... though, I did not go in a purchase anything.
  8. I sure hope I am reading this wrong, but E85 used to be $.20 - $.30 cheaper than 87 gasoline, but I drove by Kroger's today and E85 was $3.48 and gasoline was $2.58. I hope that price is wrong, but if not, they are going in the wrong direction to get people to be a bit more green.
  9. Seems legit. I filled the dish in mine with JB Weld to bump up my compression.
  10. Those summit racings ones look good. I guess better than the external threads with caps on them. Seems tacky unless I'm thinking of something else. I also know that there is a special type of lug for locking where you need a key to remove it. It's really not theft deterrent, but I guess it's better than a 6-point 19mm socket. I can't tell if the link you posted has that or not. Forgive me for not knowing my wheel stuff. I'm a noob.
  11. I ended up getting a set of gunmetal wheels so I'm looking for a dark set of lugs. On Jegs I found these: http://www.jegs.com/i/Detroit+Wheels/306/5645BLK/10002/-1 I really don't see anything else on the site that fits my studs (12mm x 1.5). Are those even what I'm looking for? Their site says 4 weeks to ship so I'm wondering if they are even obtainable from the store within the next few days. I'll give a call tomorrow, but before I go calling and placing orders, I'm hoping to get some opinions as to what I should get. When I ran my steelies, the Advance Auto lugs worked fine.
  12. I don't think the fact that 2 people died in a Vette justifies the statement that "young people shouldn't drive Vettes." You are reading a news article that involves 2 sports cars, a wreck, and death. Of course, it's going to be portrayed as some young punk in daddy's car out racing and killing himself and his friend. I don't think the article mentioned anything about knowing the speed. If this was a Metro, the story would be portrayed completely different. And to another point, you can make your own decisions of whether or not to speed or race on the interstate, or you can drive "normal" and still not have any control of the mechanical actions of your car or even those around you. Congrats to those who had a bike and a STI when they were young. That's completely irrevelant to the story and the end result.
  13. If they are available i'd be interested in just the wheels are the tires are a bit too small
  14. I'm a few months late, but are these still for sale?
  15. Well, the one from HF weighs like 100lbs and takes up a lot more room and is like $260 (vent baffle, lighting, sand drain, etc). They have a cheaper one for $130, but it doesn't have lighting or anything else. Plus, even though I only have certain tools to do work like this, I still enjoy trying to do things myself.
  16. I finally put it to use this weekend. All I have left to do is create an air intake on the lid, a baffle around the vacuum port, grating in the bottom for sitting my parts on, and I think that's it. http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs099.snc1/4751_503382418642_320100059_55326_7542671_n.jpg http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs119.snc1/4751_503382423632_320100059_55327_6061453_n.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs099.snc1/4751_503382428622_320100059_55328_8113809_n.jpg http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs099.snc1/4751_503382433612_320100059_55329_5503870_n.jpg http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs099.snc1/4751_503382438602_320100059_55330_7938188_n.jpg http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs099.snc1/4751_503382453572_320100059_55331_7073261_n.jpg http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs119.snc1/4751_503382458562_320100059_55332_6073026_n.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs099.snc1/4751_503382463552_320100059_55333_2043554_n.jpg I'm going to build a stand so I can wheel it around, but so far it has came together rather well. I may end up re-doing the window later, but seeing as how this will rarely be used, that's not a priority.
  17. Well, if I find any pumps listed without ethanol, I'll be sure to let you know.
  18. I guess that's debatable. Yes, mileage is going to decrease as there is less energy in ethanol compared to gasoline. I get roughly 40mph on gasoline and 25 - 28 on 85% ethanol. However, there is nothing my engine doesn't like about it. It's my mileage that doesn't like it.
  19. You will not see a 13mpg drop with only 10% ethanol.
  20. It is a pain in the ass if I'm travelling outside of Columbus (eg. back to Marietta to visit family). Though, I can fill up with gas if need be if I have my laptop with me. Being in Grove City though, Kroger and Meijer both sell it off 665 so it's easily available.
  21. I run whatever station sells E85. Usually Kroger or Meijer.
  22. I guess my point was, everything after the S-series was a GM knock-off, so it wasn't really a Saturn anymore. Ion = Cobalt, Sky = Solstice, etc.
  23. Saturn stopped making "Saturns" as soon as they discontinued the S-series.
