It's not a wax, it does two things, for one it DOES have solvents in it, for two reasons, one is it is a cleaner, it does as any solvent will do, break down grime and lift it, along with either the paint of clear coat. The second thing it is, a polymer sealer. Which is part of the reason for the solvents, they keep the polymer in a liquid form, and as they flash off the polymer hardens. This is why the shit will take up spray paint. It will fill fine scratches in the clearcoat, and give a very good shine, for awhile. But it can't do what a wax does, and that is to remove the scratches. If you were to look at the hood before he started with it, it's been compounded, clayed, buffed and polished to hell and back. NO car, from the manufacture gets the treatment that hood does. And if you don't have a base like that to start with, the stuff don't work, or at least not nearly as well. I will say that for car shows, on a well preped and maintained finish, the stuff will bring it to a mirror finish. But anything less, ain't worth it. And the finish does not stay as well as claimed either. So again, use it, drive it to the show, and touch it up. The next week, you will be doing it again.

The level of degration is much higher is this instance.If he's qualified then fine, but if not, you are slapping him in the face, and every other peoson of that specific race, creed, or handycap.

Hmmm, really should post this in tech but, the performer RPM manifolds are good to 6500 and the one I ran on my 350 would pull through 7000, never really went any higher, lower end wasn't built for it. Curious about your cam profile and rear gear ratio. Also what RPM are you turning at the 1/8 when it falls down?

As far as system design and speed goes. Yes As far as support level, software availability and universal acceptance, NO. MAC's are a kickass machine, but find me a drag SIM or dyno SIM for a MAC. Show me the ODB II software that runs on OS X so I can tune my LT-1 smile.gif Yes they are better a better system, and the OS id far more stable than anything from Redmond. But look at your installed base. They have their niche but that's about it. Figure a new G-5 runs what, $4000 You can build a pretty badass PC gaming PC for that with a video card that will eat the MAC's for lunch. And you have a better graphics system. If you want power, you can buy a shitload of old multiprocessor servers from ebay, and build a Beowoulf parallel processing cluster and have WAY more processing power. Don't get me wrong, MAC is kickass as designs go, they just didn't get on the boat and market the thing right. In the end, GREED killed the MAC, and Apple in general. IBM did the same shit, they got delusional, and it about got them out of the PC market too.

Well, if you stop to notice, that's a Ford Solinoid on the shock tower. And it looks pretty original, so I would say that it's a Ford car, but I don't know. As far as the chain, could be that the motor is just getting put in and that's the temp mount so he can weld up the motor mounts. OR, he is using the chain to stop the motor from twisting. Now the guy may know more than you think, I have seen alot of guys weld the motor mounts in a derby car, then take a hit in the nose and tear the block open because the frame bent. So this might be a better solution for setting up a derby car. Oh yeah, the reason for the pipes through the hood is it's required, they try to eliminate anything that would cause a fire on the ground that could spread. Another trick for derby cars is the idle them at about 2500 RPM. Reason is that the chances of loosing the radiator is high, of course once the radiator gets a hole in it the motor gets hot, damn hot. And car engines tend to want to die when they are that hot. The high idle keeps em from dying. I leave you with this. Big body cars, that make good derby cars are leaving us quickly. Being ground up and melted down. If you like derby's you better go now, their time is limited.

One word... TORQUE! Now if they were to use one set of valves for low RPm then, progressively bring in the second set, that would own the pushrod motors. But look at bikes, rice burners turn silly RPM's are all OHC or DOHC motors. Harleys, V-twin, pushrod design, and really only need two gears to run, startout and drive. Try to start out in 3rd on a rice burner then go right to 5th or 6th. It's out of the hole slow, then it finally gets fast, then you shift. THen it's slow to acclerate again. Do the same thing on a Harley, it will pull out reasonably hard, then continue pulling after the shift. What I am getting at it a broader torque curve. For that matter, what even happened to the powerglide. It went the way of high compression musclecar motors with carbs. The torque hopped a plane and left Detroit, and is finally trying to return, on the wings of computer controller high compression motors once again. One day there will be electronic valves, and then we WILL have the best of both worlds. But until then. They both hav a place, just not in my driveway.
