  4. You cannot legislate stupidity out of existence. Is there a way to keep people from getting marijuana, cocaine, heroin? All of that shit is illegal, yet it still is so easy to get your hands on. Just because you throw out a law against it, does not mean those who ignore the laws are going to pay it any mind. Nor do they end their careers with firearms. Look at England. They outlawed firearms, and guess what? People started stabbing other people. Well then they outlawed knives, and guess what happened? People started beating each other to death. The fact is, you cannot stop it. You can only prepare yourself to prevent it from happening to you. I agree; it does not go hand in hand. But it is the other way around. You restrict it by law, and the only people who are truly restricted are the law abiding citizens. How many guns are too many? and who exactly gets to decide that? James Holmes only had one rifle as far as I know. 12 dead and 58 injured is acceptable in that case? You don't need more than 100hp. Your wife/GF doesn't need makeup. BRB, sending the police over your way to arrest you for a potential high speed pursuit, and your wife/GF for being a potential prostitute. Last I checked, our judicial system revolves around 'innocent until proven guilty'. If that's changed, I must have missed the memo. You step onto a slippery slope if you start scrutinizing people for things they might do. Sighhhh..... Here I go: Cars are meant to drive. Yea, you can race them, but the point of them is to start up and move on down the road at a pace faster than a human can walk. Blaming an inanimate object is stupid, no matter that object's intended purpose. I can leave my keys in the ignition all day long and not have a single worry about it starting itself up and driving away. Same goes for a gun. I can leave that thing loaded until it falls apart from rust and not have a single worry about it pointing itself at someone and shooting them. People operate these objects. They do not operate themselves. He argues that guns are mean to kill. I disagree. Guns, as he pointed out, are meant to be a force multiplier. Same as a hammer. Hammers were invented because man was too weak to overpower something else. Same goes for firearms. They were invented because some person (empire) was too weak to overpower another. Enter the tool known as the firearm. Before guns came along, other objects were adapted in order to make the killing of humans and other beings much easier. That still doesn't take away from the fact that they do have a use. I will touch more on this later. This section is full of holes. For starters, he mentions the shooter was wearing body armor. Glad to see he got his facts straight...:dumb: He then references a study that shows no references to where they obtained their information...:dumb: He seems to side with Trayvon Martin as if the case were already decided...:dumb: He mentions guns are offensive in nature and not defensive. To a point, he is right, but we're arguing semantics here. A good defense is a good offense, in my opinion. If a pull out a gun because I intend to protect myself, and then I don't end up firing it, is that not defensive? Again, semantics. He mentions it being an amendment, therefore, an add-on to the Constitution. He fails to mention it was a RIGHT. He comments on it being written during the time of muskets and now that we have AR-15s, it is somehow invalid...:dumb: This leads me to my closing thoughts: The overall theme he seems completely lost on is why Americans are granted the RIGHT to own firearms in the first place. It's not for hunting. it's not for sport. It's not to protect yourself from a mugging. It's to protect yourself from our own damn government. Plain and simple and rarely mentioned or understood by those on both side of the argument. Let me give you (a link to) a little history lesson: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolution Read up on that particular event and you will know why we still have the Second Amendment. The founding fathers who drafted the Constitution just finished dealing with such a situation. What do you think was their priority at that time? I assure you it was to prevent it from happening again. The idea behind it is that the People are armed enough to rise up, form militias, and take back their country from an oppressive government. If you allow your government to strip you of this right, then how do you accomplish this task of taking back your country? Honestly. I would love to know how you do this. Tell me a legitimate and full-proof way to do this, and I'll hand over my last line of defense/offense. I don't give a flying fuck how many thugs are shot on a daily basis. I don't give a shit that your 90 year old grandmother saved herself from a mugging with her .38 special. I couldn't care less that 12 people were killed and 58 were injured by a gun-wielding lunatic. (Obviously I'm not serious, because I really do care and am trying to make a point.) All I truly care about is that the American People are properly prepared in case such an event happens again, because if it does, your silly 100 homicides per year will seem quite miniscule in comparison. It happens every single day in other countries all over the world. That is the single most important thing to remember when we think about why guns have such a presence in this country. I've mentioned it before, and I'll mention it again. The First Amendment grants us the right to run our mouths about our government in (almost) any way we choose. If that fails to produce the change we, as a country, seek, the Second Amendment is there to back us up. No more. No less.
  5. This thread will have to wait until I get off work in the morning for my response...
  6. The healthcare field is ALWAYS short on medical personnel. Most guys are hesitant to jump into it, but nursing is not a horrible field to get into and will easily pay more than you are making now. You really can do just about anything you want in the field, and it doesn't have to be bedside nursing. But, like all careers, there's a LOT of BS that goes along with it.
  7. About 3 years now. My father used to have his FFL and be into reloading quite a bit, but has since given all of that up. I had been thinking about getting into it for years, so for my college graduation, he bought me an entire setup, and I've added to it quite a bit as well. There's a few things I would still like to add, but for the most part, I can reload any caliber I own, should I choose to. The logistics of having such an extensive setup can be a nightmare, though.
  8. Some people are actually having more trouble with an attorney-made trust vs. a Quicken-made. Apparently a lot of attorneys aren't providing a specific form that is required when going the trust route, whereas Quicken does. So long as the trust is notarized and laid out in plain writing, I do not see a problem with it. Saying that one person's trust made by a software isn't as good as another that is written by a person doesn't make sense to me. The BATF would have a hard time trying to convince me otherwise. I also take comfort in the fact that a ton of people go the Quicken route. If I were one of a few, I would be more concerned, but they are going to have one hell of a time convicting thousands of people over something as simple as how it was drafted.
  9. These pictures are old, but all I have on my computer at the moment. I've since added a ton of stuff. I've got 50+lb. of assorted powders, over 15,000 assorted bullets, brass out the wazoo, and can load 32 different calibers. Not to mention, every possible accessory you can imagine. I really do have too much stuff. I've been tossing around the idea of buying a Super 1050 and setting it up with full automation, i.e. casefeeder, bullet feeder, autodrive, etc. That's a hefty investment, though. http://i.imgur.com/fb94Y.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tw1Ov.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6eUnZ.jpg
  10. . 223 bullets? How many? That will dictate price.
  11. Correct. I was incorrect about the amount of engraving needed. You only need trust name, city and state.
  12. Dibs on bullets and maybe rifle brass. Size of both? It's hard to tell from my phone.
  13. I've been getting geared up for a month or so for this years fishing trip with my friend (lowridnS10) and his father. Heading up to Northern Michigan (West Drummond Island) mid-August. I'm not sure what I really want to go after this year, so I'm pretty much going to target everything. I figure small mouth will probably be congregating on the numerous sholes. I really want to land a boat full of perch. Walleye sounds like fun as well, if its not too warm. And I wouldn't mind taking home a few salmon either. I suppose I'll go after whatever is biting. A few new toys I've purchased in preparation for this year: Shimano Tekota 500LC (line counter). Lined with 65lb Power Pro Depth Hunter braid. Will be my trolling setup for walleye and salmon. http://i.imgur.com/9ZtfO.jpg Mounted on a Shimano Talora 8.5ft Medium-Heavy trolling rod. http://i.imgur.com/OIFAB.jpg Next up is my new Bass/perch rod and reel. Will be a general use spinning setup. Quantum Smoke reel mounted on a St. Croix 6.5ft. Light power Avid series rod. Lined with 15lb. Power Pro Braid. Debating on taking the 15lb. off and swapping it with some 10lb. PP braid I have on another one of my baitcasters. Will most likely run a fluro leader for perch rigs and maybe for dropshotting bass. http://i.imgur.com/EOmRX.jpg Also bought a new ultralight setup to play around with. I took this setup out once in Big Darby Creek and had a blast with it. Trying to get some of the larger fish in with it can be a motherfucker, but it sure is fun. BassPro Tinylite reel mounted on a BassPro Microlite 5' Ultralight rod lined with 4lb./8lb. fluro (two spools). I'm not impressed with the reel clamps they put on the rod. I didn't see them before I bought it, but, they hold better than I expected. http://i.imgur.com/AmMRc.jpg I've been itching to get out but just haven't had the chance.
  14. Re: the neck I forget where I heard it, but a few years ago someone did a study that showed that men are attracted to women with long necks. Most of them do not realize that they are, though. I thought that was interesting because if you take a look at some of the known hot women of the world, a good bit of them have what I would consider to be a rather lengthy neck. http://againstlineofdance.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/themoreyouknow.jpg
  15. I'll see what I can dig up and get back to you. :masturboy:
  16. As mentioned in another thread, I'm trying to build an outside table for a new grill. I'm wanting to make it out of cedar so it will withstand the elements. I stopped at Lowes and Home Depot, but their selection is crap. Lowes has the sizes I need, but it's only finished on one side and rough cut on the other. The boards have horrible knots in them and chunks missing out of the middle. What I am wanting is some fully finished cedar boards of various sizes. Closed knots are fine, but I do not want gaping holes in them nor do I want edges knocked off. Any idea for some lumbar yards that might carry this? There appear to be a million lumbar yards in central Ohio and I'm not sure where to start.
  17. That family is almost as fucking retarded as those dipshits at Red Jacket. Actually, they might be more. It's hard to choose. P.S. I'd ruin her.
  18. I wouldn't spend more than $250 on a Kimber...:dumb:
  19. Designing a simple table for a grill. I've got it drawn out on graph paper for neatness, but would prefer something computer generated. Like I said, something simple is all I need. I downloaded Google SketchUp and LayOut, but haven't had time to play with them yet.
