I wouldn't mind living in the PNW someday.

I'm looking for some sort of software (preferably free) that I can use for some simple design work. Basically, graph paper on a computer. Got any ideas?

Thank god someone else understands the point of the 2A. :fuckyeah:

There are 3 routes you can go when obtaining a Title II firearm: -Individual ownership = You own the weapon. You submit fingerprints, a passport photo, and requires a Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) to sign off on acknowledgement that the weapon is entering their jurisdiction. This can be your county sheriff (most common), judge, local chief of police, and some other positions that I can't think of off the top of my head. The problem is, you have to get one of them who knows anything about the process, which most do not. They tend to think that by signing off on the process that they are taking responsibility for the weapon, which is not the case at all. They are simply acknowledging that the weapon is entering their territory. It's more of a courtesy thing. Rumor has it that the ATF will eventually be doing away with the CLEO sign-off because it really serves no purpose other than to prevent perfectly legal Title II acquisitions. -Trust ownership = A trust owns the weapon. You setup a simple revocable living trust (usually with Quicken Will Maker). Assign yourself as Grantor and Trustee of the trust and assign any beneficiaries of it that you like. Any person listed in the trust is allowed to possess the weapon. Obviously, since a trust does not technically have a physical identity, no photo or fingerprints are required. You also can fore go the CLEO sign off as well, which is a major advantage. The shitty part is that you have to engrave the trust name, and all trustees/beneficiaries into the firearm. If you plan on keeping the firearm, that is fine. It does complicate things if you ever intend to sell it. -LLC ownership = You form an LLC, which takes possession of the firearm. Admittedly, I do not know much about this route. The only thing I have heard is that you have to pay a yearly fee to keep possession and that it is still sketchy as to whether or not this is truly a legal route to ownership. Ideally, Individual ownership is the way to go, if you can get the sign off. If you can't, forming a trust with Quicken Will Maker is really not that complicated and is an alternative method. Clear as mud? -

Good luck finding one to sign off in this area. I went the trust route. :dumb: -
I think we'll be fine. We (the gun community) have been doing quite well over the past several years. I think more and more people are realizing that you cannot legislate this kind of stuff out of existence. There is absolutely NOTHING you can do to curtail the issue. I mean, he bought over 6,000 rounds of ammo (from what I heard) yet killed 'only' 12 people. What arbitrary number do we place on restriction? Is it OK to be able to purchase 5,000 rounds of ammo at one time and only kill 10 people, yet 6,000 rounds and 12 people is too much? Same concept as magazine restrictions. Killing 31 people is OK, but 32 people crosses the line? Regardless, crazy is crazy and no amount of legislation is going to stop that.

Fire for effect. Even if you aren't penetrating the armor; getting bullets slung back at him is still going to fuck with him pretty hard. And who knows, you might get lucky and smack him in the face with one. :dumb: I'd certainly rather have one than not in that situation. And again, I bet it's no coincidence that this happened in Aurora vs. the rest of gun-loving Colorado. These people aren't that stupid. Especially this guy.

If you want milspec, go with 1:7. If you plan on shooting something other than M855 (well suited for 1:7) or even M193 (which I would argue could do just as well in a 1:8-1:9), don't be afraid to run something else. I specifically chose a 1:10 twist barrel for my varmint AR because I planned on slinging really light rounds at high velocities, i.e. 36gr BVGs @ ~4,000fps. A 1:7 would tear those apart. BTW, chrome lined barrels are generally less accurate than unlined, chromoly barrels, but are also much easier to clean. Again, it all really depends on your application.

By a couple inches. Run it as far back as you can. It'll give you a longer sight radius. -

Where to rent an SUV w/ a hitch?
RedRocket1647545505 replied to RedRocket1647545505's topic in Dumpster
Well that bitch told me they didn't. :fuuuu: -
I've run into a bit of a dilemma. I need to make a trip to southern Tennessee and back to Ohio this week and will be hauling a 4x8 or 6x10 trailer the entire way (loaded w/ ~1,000lb+ on the return trip). I'm trying to avoid putting the miles and wear and tear on my Colorado, not to mention, I'm not sure how it will do hauling that weight back through the mountains. Ideally, I would like to rent a medium-sized SUV w/ a hitch so that I can pull in comfort and confidence. The problem is that Enterprise and Avis, etc, do not rent vehicles with a hitch installed for liability reasons. I absolutely do not want to rent a Uhaul truck because: 1. I hate Uhaul, and 2. it would be a fortune. Any other options or am I stuck using my Colorado? P.S. - borrowing a vehicle is not an option either.

My take: -Forrest got beat on pretty good and regardless of what the points say, lost that fight. And he's still a bitch. Dude is seriously a sore loser/douche. What was with him leaving the ring post-fight? I'm thinking he had the same thinking as everyone else, i.e. - he lost; and that's why he left so suddenly before being turned back by Dana White. -I really wanted to see Sonnen beat on Silva, again. He did a pretty good job of that in the first round, but I'm not sure what happened in the 2nd. I'm thinking he just gassed himself in the first, because he was going pretty damn hard. Silva is a bad mofo, but I really would like to see someone knock him from his thrown. -Who's next after Sonnen?
-
Me too. :dumb:
-
Yup. I don't remember which fight it was, but it was several years ago. Forrest lost and threw a temper tantrum and was generally a sore loser. Haven't liked him since.
-
I'm kinda hoping both Tito and Forrest kill each other. I hate both of them. Oh, and in for Chael beating the black off of Silva. Again.
