  1. I am totally in agreement with you: the unis are okay, just keep our regular helmets. The silver fleck > flat chrome.
  2. I see I accidentally took your brain away as well when I traveled back in time. Please LJ, for the love of all things good, change your mind and say they are terrible. Because they are and it pains me to argue with you.
  3. They did have a time machine, but I confiscated it and went back in time to take away harmonda's brain.
  4. Also, you idiots that keep liking those stupid alternate uniform helmets can go jump off a cliff. Those bright green buckeye leafs are hideous. And that's not just my opinion, that's a scientific fact. Seriously, just no.
  5. How does a Heisman winner's performance in the NFL have anything to do with the Heisman award? The answer is nothing. GTFO of here with that shit. Trying to say someone didn't deserve to win the Heisman because they stunk it up as a pro is just dumb.
  6. I kind of hope Winston wins the Heisman and then gets charged. The Heisman is a fucking joke anyway, and the trainwreck that would cause would be spectacular.
  7. http://collegespun.com/pac-12/usc/video-usc-fans-throw-beer-bottles-at-female-fan-celebrating-on-tommy-trojan-statue# Either this was staged or USC fans have the worst aim ever.
  8. Jason, let me know if there's anything I can do. In the interim, I'll think positive thoughts about the situation and hope for the very best. Fuck cancer.
  9. Another thought: I think Johnny Manziel has "checked out" for this season. He realized he won't win the Heisman (for whatever reason) and is now thinking about the pros.
  10. Brandon - I see your point. My thought in respond is that this time around FSU will be the heavily favored ones (like OSU in 2006) and Ohio State will be assuming the role of - ironically - Meyer's heavy underdog Gators.
  11. LOL - I said to myself as soon as I heard this news: "in other news, Oregon will be a media darling again next year only to fall flat on their ducky faces in a high profile game."
  12. I wouldn't be completely shocked if Duke beats Florida State. I mean, I would, because it would be likely one of the largest upsets in BCS history, but at the same time it would be one of those cases that, in retrospect, we can see happening: Florida State is being told by everyone they have won the game already, their QB might be charged with a felony and so his head may be elsewhere, Duke doesn't really have anything to lose, Duke is a bunch of smart kids that won't buy into hype, etc. But let's say Duke is Duke and Florida State rolls them. I'm okay with that. If Ohio State beats Michigan State, I guarantee you that they will be more battle-tested that Florida State. Florida State could freak out once they get jacked in the jaw really good by a team with talent to match theirs.
  13. Seriously, Cooper was the greatest amasser of talent and the absolute worst big-game/game-time decision coach, ever. Cooper always had a befuddled look on his face on the sidelines. Big decision to make? Engage dementia look. We should have won two or three national titles in the Cooper era. Rather, we came out of hoping for just a third win over Michigan in that span. How pathetic is that shit? The 1998 squad would have straight fucking curb-stomped Tennessee in the title game, I'm certain of it. But, we pulled a USC and ended up choking away the season on an inferior opponent.
  14. We owe Michigan State an ass beating just because of 1998 alone.
  15. I don't have a lot of time to respond to this, but weren't the two teams ranked ahead of Cincinnati that year also undefeated?
  16. Don't anyone be surprised if, after Auburn wins, they jump Ohio State in the polls and get that second slot. If I'm Ohio State, I fire up the PR machine to start taking shots at Florida State. I don't stay content with just trying to hold on to #2 and instead create the impression that Florida State really should be the one lobbying for #2. Clemson just got handled by an unimpressive South Carolina team. Florida State has no quality wins beyond that. I'm talking up Michigan State like world beaters. I'm talking up how my starting QB and starting tailback were both out for a quarter of the season and, had they not been, both would be Heisman frontrunners at this point. Put me behind the mic and I'll let the propaganda reign.
  17. Another thing: Ohio State is, in my opinion, about the 4th to 7th best team in the nation. Here are the teams that I would favor over Ohio State right now: FSU Alabama Auburn Here are the teams that, while not heavily favored, could easily beat Ohio State: Ok State Mich State Mizzou However, I think that - regardless of what my eye test says about Ohio State and those other teams - I think Ohio State deserves to be ranked either #1 or #2 by virtue of not having a loss. Florida State is the other team that hasn't lost (and the only other team from a major conference), so they get the other spot at the top. I get SOS arguments, and MOV arguments, and so forth. However, when you start weighing criteria, I think a lot of people overlook the obvious: you start with wins and losses, and the teams that have losses MUST be ranked lower than teams that do not by virtue of their loss. I don't give a fuck how difficult your schedule was. If you have a loss, then you have a loss, period. Oh what Ohio State gets criticized for scheduling too easy? Well maybe your AD should have been a bit more strategic and not scheduled you so many difficult games. easy schedule + 0 losses > hard schedule + 1 or more loss every single time Not losing a game trumps all other criteria, always. It trumps MOV and style points and schedule strength. However, somehow, people do their very best to forget this very basic fact.
  18. Polls are so fucking stupid. Think about it for a second - we decide who our national champion based in very large part on what amounts to a popularity contest (or beauty pageant). Consider this: how high would the murder rate spike be if the NFL all of a sudden did away with the playoffs and decided who would play in Super Bowl based on a vote of people? If that was ever proposed, we'd all laugh hysterically. Yet this is exactly what our system is for FBS. Polls also give power to voices because there's the potential to actually sway opinions. Sure, we have people give their opinions on who the "best" NFL teams are at any given time (like a power ranking or whatever), but notice how no one really cares? That isn't the case in college football. And so we have the potential for people to actually believe idiot heels like Mark May and for that stupid opinion to matter. Take away the powder of the polls and you take the wind out of those sails. I know, I'm not saying anything that anyone doesn't already know. But I felt like I had to vent.
  19. The Florida State fans are so fucking arrogant it's sickening. They remind of Oregon fans from 2009, only worse.
  20. I can't disagree with anything said here. I'll add that the fuel to the fire is the media spin that ESPN and others introduce. For instance, does anyone say that Florida can't beat a Midwest team because they were absolutely manhandled by Nebraska in a bowl game the mid-1990s? No. But of course all you hear is how Ohio State can't beat an athletic team (like those from the SEC) because of how we were shellacked in two bowl games about 8 years ago.
  21. It's driving me nuts to hear Brad Edwards try to make a case for why Missouri should be considered for the NCG because their one loss came with their starting QB out. Um, our starting QB was out for three games. Not only did we manage not to lose - something Missouri can't say - but a case could be made that, if we didn't lose our QB for three games, then we never slide in the polls, Braxton is the front runner for the Heisman, and no one is questioning us not being "dominant" enough. It's awesome how injuries are convenient excuses for other teams.
  22. Fucking media and the SEC - I am seriously afraid Ohio State is going to get jumped by Auburn if Auburn wins and Ohio State doesn't look good in their win. Commence wrist cutting in 3, 2... We need Missouri to win. They aren't considered "true" SEC and they don't have the name cache of a Bama, LSU, Florida, or Auburn. They also have played in a really weak SEC East - and got beat by the one team really worth anything in that division (South Carolina). If Missouri wins, it devalues Auburn (obviously), but also the rest of the West division in the process - including Alabama. If Missouri wins, I doubt voters give them the push they'd need to get over Ohio State. Auburn though...
  23. I'm certain that South Carolina's defense had nothing to do with any of those 6 turnovers. I haven't looked at the stat sheet, but I am pretty sure all 6 turnovers were because Boyd turned around and just threw the ball as hard as he could out of the back of his own end zone. Can you confirm?
