  1. I think Friday games would be stupid.

However, I also think noon games are stupid. Prime match ups should always be played in prime time. Yes, this includes OSU - Michigan.

Oh, and why I'm giving the finger to tradition, I also think they should put a dome on Ohio Stadium and play all late afternoon/evening games there. This would effectively cease any whining from people who say (erroneously) that the Ohio State - Michigan game must be played at noon because it's so cold and hurty to play outside at night in late November wah. And I'd go after bigger events like playoff games and super bowls and shit too once I put a roof on Ohio Stadium. Why? Because I'm entrepreneurial like that. That will hurt the feelings of a lot of people who have gray hair and can remember seeing Chic Harley playing in person. Sorry not sorry.

  2. There are plenty of teams that could easily hand Ohio State their ass right now (or how Ohio State has played of late). That doesn't justify the mystery A&M ranking, however.

The cynic in me thinks the committee did it just to spur interest / conversation in the committee, the process, etc. Because now all we are doing is standing around the water cooler talking about the A&M ranking.

  3.

Yeah, they get paid considerably more overseas. The MLS in the soccer world is the equivalent to the minor leagues to MLB. If you're a top flight soccer player, then you're playing in the English Premier League or La Liga (the Spanish Premier League) (or maybe in Bundesliga [the German Premier League] or Ligue 1 [the French Premier League]).

I know, it's Wikipedia, but I think it gives you some idea of the money that is paid to the best soccer players; Ronaldo and Messi are commonly regarded as the 2 best soccer players in the world (and have been for the past few years).

  4. For what it's worth, Demarco Murray led the league in rushing two years ago when he played for Dallas, and did nothing last year for Philadelphia

Didn't Murray have like 16 million carries that season? It was like the Cowboys were trying to assassinate him with forced rushing attempts.

  5. Sorry I'm late to the party. I was busy trying to come up with some excuses for Ohio State like I did after the Indiana game (underrated defense!) and the Wisconsin game (tough environment, top 10 opponent!), and couldn't find any. This team is not playing very well right now, the end. Hopefully they rebound nicely like they have in years past. Them only dropping 4 spots in the polls shows that they've received the benefit of the doubt and built up a lot of political capital.
  6. I'd take Texas over USC job. Probably.

If it was me 15 years ago I'd be all over that douchey LA scene. Now that I'm more sensible, I take the Texas job. Money will go farther in Austin, media will be more forgiving, and the higher ups aren't as weird (because the brass at USC hss been pretty odd in recent years).

  7. I'm with DJ, I think Texas makes a play for Herman, and he accepts.

People who think the HC gig at LSU is on par with the Texas HC job are delusional. I mean, LSU is a nice job and all, but it's second tier, whereas Texas is first tier. Hell, you could make the case that the HC job at Texas is the best job not only in college football, but the best job in all of sports, period.
