  1. JT should get serious Heisman consideration after today.
  2. VT beat Duke. VT pretty much just trolls good teams and ruins their seasons.
  3. Guys, obvious Bama troll is obvious.
  4. That was a block in the back. And that wasn't pass interference on the pick 6. If not for the turnovers, this is a laugher. I hate that it has turned into a dogfight of sorts. Don't want a team hanging around believing. JT just broke Ohio State's record for most TDs in a season - and he still has at least three games left.
  5. JT just sprayed on the Minnesota defense at like 1400 psi
  6. Oh, gotcha. Reading comprehension and I have never been that close of friends.
  7. Arizona State is in Tempe, which is a suburb of Phoenix. Arizona is in Tucson, which, while not exceedingly far from Phoenix, definitely isn't in that area. I'm sure that Arizona would have a nice following at the Fiesta Bowl. But, it would be essentially a home game for Arizona State.
  8. I remember being out in Phoenix/Glendale for the championship game in '06 - it was nothing but Ohio State people wherever you went. That was the greatest time, ever - minus the massacre of the actual football game.
  9. The SEC West has 4 teams in the top 10. If the SEC East had anything close to a pulse, then I guarantee you at least 5 SEC teams would make up the top 10.
  10. Mike (Sully) - thanks! Here are Top 10: 1 Mississippi State 9-0 2 Oregon 9-1 3 Florida State 9-0 4 TCU 8-1 5 Alabama 8-1 6 Arizona State 8-1 7 Baylor 8-1 8 Ohio State 8-1 9 Auburn 7-2 10 Mississippi 8-2 Josh, I'm with you - wtf is up with TCU being 3 spots higher than Baylor? If I'm Baylor, I'm livid. See why we need Alabama to lose to Miss State? It's clear the committee is favoring Miss State over Alabama. If Miss State loses to Alabama, I doubt they drop below Ohio State next week.
  11. Yup, I have Florida State losing at least once, and I think it'll only take one loss for Florida State to get bounced. Either Miami will do it this weekend, Florida will do it, or Duke will get them in the CCG. I saw about the Winston points-shaving thing. That dude just cannot get away from controversy. I think it impacts the committee a little, but not enough to mean that Florida State gets left out if they remain undefeated (if that makes sense?). I think the imminent playoff is sucking the hype out of the Heisman race. I also think the Heisman will be won by Mariotta, especially if Oregon wins out. That's actually a crazy stat about Navy, LOL. A mere coincidence or is there something to it? I think there's something to it. Preparing for Navy and playing them is so demanding, given their funky triple option shit.
  12. I think it's always better to be overdressed than underdressed. So, I'd err on the side of being overdressed. Business casual for me is not wearing a tie.
  13. I like this breakdown. A few random thoughts to piggy-back on it: - the B12 has a tendency to implode as the season progresses. I think it's because they don't bother playing defense so by the season's end any team B12 not named Kansas is capable of beating any other B12 team. Watch, Texas will smoke Baylor and some random team will beat TCU. - I think either Oregon or Arizona State is going to the playoff. Certainly, I hope the Pac cannibalizes itself (see B12), but my fear is that both these teams remain strong by the time they meet in the championship game. The winner would be a virtual lock for the playoff, IMHO. - after Oregon/Arizona State winner, that leaves just one spot, provided the SEC West champion gets in (by virtue of winning the SEC CG, I would think), no other SEC West teams are lurking around, and Florida State wins out. Thus, we really need the B12 to go all B12 and fuck themselves over. Here's my final four (you read it here first, fellas): 1. Alabama (I think they beat Miss State and Auburn and Mizzou) 2. Arizona State (I think they beat Arizona and Oregon) 3. Ohio State (I think they beat everyone, including Nebraska) 4. TCU (I think they beat everyone else and Baylor loses another game)
  14. If I had to make a call today, then I take Barrett as my QB and don't think twice about it. If Barrett continues to play as well as he has from here on out, then I don't think there's any way that Meyer can justifiably sit him for a lesser QB in Miller. Barrett has shown himself to be superior to Miller in everything with the exception of explosive running ability, and, quite frankly, I think that's actually a liability for the team in the long run. I think Ohio State gets too one-dimensional with Miller at QB (which is because he's such a phenomenal athlete, so it's difficult not to game-plan around him continuously). It's almost like Miller becomes a talent black-hole when he's on the field; all of the other weapons lose their luster when he's around because he monopolizes so many of the plays. The loss of Miller has been, in my opinion, the classic example of addition by subtraction. I really like Miller. Nothing against the guy. I hope he has an ultra successful career in whatever he does. But I think - quite simply - Barrett is the better QB. Thus, in my mind, the choice is simple: you go with the better QB.
  15. I agree. I also think Ohio State is "peaking" at the right time. We have a month to stay front and center in the collective consciousness. If Ohio State continues to win convincingly - especially on the big stage of B10 championship game - then everyone will be clamoring for them to be one of the four picks, regardless of how things play out right now. Ohio State will be the poster child for the "eyeball test" criterion that the committee has said they will consider. Everyone will be saying, "Imma let you finish Florida State, but let me first say that Ohio State is playing the best football right now." Of course, none of this means dick if Ohio State happens to shit the bed from here on out.
  16. If Alabama wins, then there's a good chance they become #1. They'd certainly have the best overall resume of everyone not named Florida State, and you could even make a case of them being ranked over Florida State by virtue of an eyeball test. (Florida State has looked fairly pedestrian all season long.) And what happens if Florida State loses and Alabama wins? Then you have a nightmare scenario in which Miss State only falls to like #4 or #5, Alabama is at #1. That means the SEC will be knocking on the door with 2 teams in the playoff - Bama (presuming they beat Auburn) and winner of Miss State/Ole Miss game. Don't get me wrong - I like your scenario, but I think it might be asking too much (like airwg said).
  17. I hope Miss State curbstomps Alabama, but I fear Bama is going to win. When the latter happens, Bama will become #2 and Miss State will only drop to like #6 - conveniently parked right in front of Ohio State. The hope is that Miss State blasts Alabama so that we can say Alabama was overrated and toss them from the top 10.
  18. Prediction for CFP: 1 Mississippi State 2 Florida State 3 Oregon 4 Alabama (I think they give nod to Bama for winning on road and because they were ranked higher than TCU to begin) 5 TCU (TCU won at home, Bama won on road) 6 Arizona State (though I could easily see Ohio State at 6; Ohio State's road victory probably more impressive than Arizona State's home victory) 7 Ohio State (I could see Arizona State at 7) 8 Baylor 9 Ole Miss (so stupid, I wouldn't put any 2 loss team in top 10 at this point, but the committee will) 10 Nebraska
  19. I swear South Carolina is the becoming the new Virginia Tech: highly ranked to begin season and then finding a way of making themselves completely forgettable by mid-season.
  20. Braxton would have to swallow a big chunk of ego to stay here and not be the #1 QB. However, if he leaves for the NFL, he's not in the best of places to be drafted as a QB. I can see this turning into a fairly big dilemma. On a tangent, I don't know why more mediocre QB's don't switch and play some other position. Antwan Randle El and Deshawn Jackson come to mind immediately. I wish Pryor would do it.
