  1. I think hes going for someone who is not biased by being a gm guy or owning a F-body. Neutral opinion based soley on what the car has to offer.

 I kind of figured that out. Was screwing around with my statement. Thanks though.

  2. This is all preliminary for right now. I want to go to GM with a list of people to show them that this idea is a viable concept for them. The PR guy liked it a lot though, so I'm not too worried. But everyone's interest will be noted.

I'll definitely take you up on the help Brian. Would like some ideas where we can hold this little event that's close to a decent driving road. Was thinking somewhere south of 315 and use the windy section as a test route.

  3. I am trying to get a new 2010 Camaro SS from GM for testing and I have run an article idea by them, and am looking for participants to show that my story takes presedence over other publications.

What I am thinking is having a get-together one day where a couple of the hardcore Camaro/Firebirds guys come together to give me their impressions on the new car, good or bad. Kind of like an "Old vs. New" type of thing. You guys can sit in it, crawl underneath, and I'll let those involved in the article test-drive the vehicle as well.

I'm looking for 4-5 guys, hopefully with one of the guys being from IPS or something. Maybe there's a Columbus F-Body organization or something here in Columbus and their president could come out. But I know there are a couple people on here that have these cars and would like to include you as well. I have a few people in mind, but I want to make I have a solid list before I make my decision.

If you're involved, you will have to be okay with me asking you questions and putting your name in the article. I would also like to use your car in a photoshoot if possible. Finally, and most importantly, I am taking this very seriously. I will be professional and I expect the same in return. I want to make this a great story, and I need people who are willing to be honest and open with me.

Now, the problem is my timeline. I will have to wait until June/July for the SS, but I can probably get a V6 model by the end of the month. Seems like a long way to wait. That's why I am throwing out the V6 option, but I'm sure everyone would prefer the SS.

So if you're interested, have an F-Body, know your shit and are cool with my parameters, let me know and I will.

  4. It takes me until about Tuesday to get the photos up. I don't have the equipment or T-1 line at home.

They will be on the OVR site. I'll add a link here when they are up.

    Mike

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to see them.

Sweet, sounds like a dream job for most people on here.

So far, it's been fun. Took me over a year to get where I am today in regards of working with various manufacturers. It's the only thing I've wanted to do since I was 14.

    I hate you!!!:D

    No love??

  5. The 180's that were single pivot cones were hell. The sections connecting them were at the top of 1st / bottom of 2nd gear for me and I didn't get it right during any the 3 runs I took.

Nick, it was nice to meet you. Give me a call any time.

Thanks to all the CR folks that came out. Hope you had a good time!

I didn't know you were on here. Thanks again for taking time out yesterday to help me out. I had a blast and learned a lot. I'll shoot you a message in June when I can make a race, maybe walk the track and get a few rides if that's alright with you.

49.3 was my best, but my last run felt like it could have been better but the damn timing system was messing up and didn't give an accurate time.

I was meaning to find you and introduce myself. I'm curious what your job is in the automotive journalism field.

    Nice times.

I write for Automoblog. Our site covers a lot of things that aren't considered mainstream, and mixed in there is your typical news and auto reviews. I handle most of the car reviews and new car news. Almost brought my Volvo C30 press car to run, but Volvo wouldn't allow it.

    *EDIT*

Forgot to mention I'll be traveling to Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI for a two-day romp on the track with all the 2010 cars from various manufacturers on the 28th.

  6. Yeah, Ben, your advice really did help. Those were the best runs I've had so far and I actually surprised myself with my improvement.

It was nice meeting you, Adam, and all the other people I talked to.

Just curious, what times were you running?
