  1. Thats what we get for figuring and even if it was a space saver it would have still been fucked up that it got stolen.

    Stupid or not...

I know it's fucked up, don't get me wrong on that aspect. Stealing is stealing no matter what it is. You just don't hear about theives going to great lengths to steal a spare tires out of someone's trunk when they usually take things like stereos, tools, etc.

  2. Lets see. It was a full size 17" spare. Check the price on those and then come back and talk about stupid shit you've heard about.

Figured it was a space-saver they stole. No need to get your panties in a bunch about it.

  3. They are usually full size spares they get and do that to 4 trucks and you have a complete set that has never even touched the ground. They took the one off my neighbors H3 while he was in Bob Evans eating!

Guess that makes some sense if you steal the full-size ones, but don't most cars come with the space-saver ones (i.e. smaller) with the bigger ones optional?

Just seems like a really odd thing to steal. I guess if you got a flat on your Hummer, just steal your neighbor's spare then.

  4. Not sure if she's going to do it. It's early in her looking stage. We have the van now and will likely keep it too so she's not hurting for a car other than in the ego dept. :D

They are really nice cars. I've driven a bunch. Be careful though, as to me they seem to become rattle traps after a while. Don't know why, but I've never experience car after car like that with different rattles.

  5. Damn I hate a fucking thief...

Someone stole my spare tire out from under my truck sometime within the last couple months. At least I saw the wire hanging that holds it up before I had a flat.

I believe this happened in my driveway. Time for some cameras...

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Unless there's some sort of black-market for spare tires.

  6. OVR has some loaner helmets at their events.

Personally, I would go to the Iron Pony, they seem to always have new helmets at great prices (many in the $30-$60 range).

If rules are still the same as they used to be, for autocross you can use either a MA or SA rated helmet. The SA is required for most roadcourse use due mostly to the Nomex material. I guess fire is not a concern in autoX so MA is legal too.

If you plan to hit some road courses later you may want to buy the more expensive SA rated helmet now.

That's the plan if I enjoy doing it (which I'm sure I'll love it) as well as if my financial situation changes. Damn economy around here is killing me.

Right now, I'm just looking to learn and get advice before I make the serious plunge into it.

  7. brian, there is a huge lot that is vacant right by the amc...but no one is there...so no one to ask. Im sure it would be cool to meet there. Infinity parks cars there alot...so if they can Im sure we can

That's what I was originally suggesting. By the El Vaquero's that's back there.

  8. If I can suggest places, I would say either Mill Run behind where that gym is and Chipotle. Half that mall is vacant and the parking lot is massive.

Also, there's Dublin Village Center off of Sawmill by where AMC Theatres is. Couple vacant stores and the parking is also huge. Could be an issue with Dublin PD though.

  9. I'd say that attending the tnt before the school would be a very good thing. The tnt is a very relaxed atmosphere, so a good chance to get your feet wet and get the feel for the car/navigating the cones without having the pressure/distractions of an event or school. Then at the school, you can focus more on driving and less on learning the basics of an autocross course/event. Also, there are always a lot of helpful people who would be more than willing to ride along and help you at the tnt.

I'm planning on coming out to the Test and Tune. Anyone mind if I ride shotty with them for a run or two?

  10. Tim car looks great man! id like to take off the side molding of mine but since the car is my DD i think its best i leave it on so i don't get major door dings.

They don't work. I've got a couple door dings on mine because they are too low.
