hey Taran, I haven't been able to get ahold of ya in a while I'd still like to get that box from you
  4. Last year, this was running 10.20 on a conservative tune at norwalk (have pictures of the front wheels off the ground on a launch) the pontiac 455 started to lose oil pressure and the project went down hill from there lots of work done, but needs $$ spent again (motor, trans, rear) i sold the built 12 bolt that was under it - a 10 bolt resides now sold the 4 wheel disc brakes - drums on it now the body is pretty solid - nicer than you would expect front fenders aren't original and aren't too nice though (stole those for another car) has a 4 pt roll cage (outdated, but could be modified if you want it certified) has too many hours to count doing little things for example, the entire front end is swiss-cheesed to drop weight fiberglass trunk lid - lots of wiring ran and whatnot car still has a nice body, nice chrome - doors all work, all glass - etc would be a nice car for strip/street or full strip rear bumper, nice rear quarters, full factory dash i'll say $2,500 but i'm open to offers or partial trades could possibly take substantially less, but it depends what parts i rob off of it for other cars (i'm trying to resist the temptation) would get more information and pictures if someone was interested also have plenty of other parts including 455 blocks/heads - i could set you up pretty easy
  5. hell of a lawsuit will come of this
  6. any time - just got it running good i've got 2 '66 GTO's - both convertibles, one 4 spd, one 5 spd
  7. on my 'to-do' list was to drive to a dealer in my '66 GTO and see if they'd let me take a test drive ...you'd think they'd let people if the driving experience is so impressive...and such an important sales point ...might scratch that off - not worth the headache of dealing with a pushy salesman
  8. agreed but not quite as comfortable and we probably shouldn't start this war all over again

looks like a 6a to me, and not a 6-al? if it was an AL, i'd definitely be interested 6a doesn't have rev control 6-al does - and that's the main reason i want one

oh yea? sounds interesting even if i have to send it to MSD to have it rebuilt - probably worth it send me some contact info and i'll hook up with you i'm over by the horseshoe thanks
  11. i love huge cars that are 4 speeds - lots of surprising fun i've got a '68 bonneville that's a 4 speed, 428 it's surprised many stock 5.0's
  12. i think the old style T10's were original in those cars the ones that were aluminum with steel midplates and covers - but i might be wrong anyways, i don't guess you still have that car? sounded like a neat one
  13. T-10 was original in these things, i think?

or other ignition box with rev limiter
  15. i'm interested, i'll give him a call tomorrow (i'm out of town, presently)
  16. that's what i was wondering that setup from jegs is 5 pieces 4 pieces of tube and the middle piece so, i was wondering if he had all 5 pieces or the $50.00 was just the x-pipe piece
  17. got a pic? it it just the x-pipe middle piece or does it have pipe off the sides?
  18. i used ralleye or rallye or ralley, i can't remember now (i'll look around) i don't know if they insure for track use it really helps if you say your car will *never* see track time...and just write up the whole quote as a ridiculously nice showcar cheaper and less restrictions with your car though...a track accident might m ake it worth the while to not 'cheat'
  19. darkformula as you probably know, progressive and safe-auto don't do classic car insurance (although they'll refer you to companies that will) anyways, one thing to look at in particular is what kind of coverage they offer some of the cheaper plans will offer coverage for repairs, like a normal insurance agent hagerty and the better plans offer 20k, 30k with fewer strings easier way to explain that: Ask, if your car is stolen...do you get 30k? or, if your car is stolen...do you get the recovered car + $$$ for how much damage was done to it My buddy learned the hard way that he had the cheap coverage someone stole...trashed his car and abused it (hard to tell how bad it was abused) he got the car back in poor shape and they were only willing to pay him the difference in value
  20. $900 on the 12 bolt $1100 and i'll throw in a set of aerospace drag racing disc brakes, installed
  21. wanting a setup for my '66 GTO i'm installing rear disc brakes on a 12 bolt this weekend, it'd be silly to not go ahead and install the front disc brakes too i'd prefer aftermarket aerospace or others, but might take originals or anything else i can get my hands on - local pickup is key, and cheaper the better i waited too long and with shipping insane right now...not sure i can wait to have it shipped (i don't have much of a vacation to work on the car, so i try to get as much done as possible, as fast as possible) and jegs wants stupid $
  22. indeed the 12 bolt is a bad mofo: moser 30 spline forged axles (supposedly 30 or 40% stronger than stock) moser c-clip eliminators was in a '67 GTO that ran 10's and would jerk the tires it's also got boxed control arms, sway bar, drag bags, aerospace disc brakes - etc, but i'm moving that over to my 3:42 12 bolt for my '66 GTO then i'll start hitting a few spots and meeting some of ya'll i blew up my last 10 bolt...was trying to baby it long enough to get all this in order i'd much rather build the above 12 bolt, but the other 12 bolt is a more suitable gear and i don't want to spend $400 just to change the gear in the 4:11 rear when the other one will be quite fine for me the 12 bolt is originally from a '70 supersport, i believe the codes come back as being from a 3:31 posi car (which i assume is a chevelle) CCF code the 10 bolt is an original 3:55 unit from a '67 GTO the 12 bolt is an inch longer than the 10 bolt
  23. I've got a 10 bolt posi from a '67 A-body, 3:55 gear, 3 series 8.2 for a pontiac or camaro i've got a 12 bolt posi from a '70 A-body (chevelle, i believe), 4:11 gear - 3 series carrier with the thin gear i'll check up on numbers in the future $1,000 for either, will come down on the 10 bolt both are complete, both can bolt in and go (one's still under a racecar)
  24. interesting! you happen to have a name or phone #? i'd love to cruise on down sometimes thanks
