after a search looks like 3:06 first gear in the transmission and a .75 overdrive unit i wouldn't have chosen 4:10's for that setup your first gear is going to be ridiculously short/stupid and your RPM range on the highway will be higher than it should/needs to be could have went with 3:23 - 3:90 and been much more reasonable - but i don't guess it's a deal breaker it'll probably squeel tires with ease, just higher RPM than it needs to be

my only other advice would be to make sure it isn't actually 180k miles ...been altered or something I haven't seen terribly many police cars they've released without a lot of miles on them - no reason to do so? ...unless, like you're thinking - there was something wrong with it

find out what transmission look up the gear ratio's 4:10 is still steep if it's a .8 overdrive or .9 - 3k+ on the highway might not be fun

depends on the final gear on whatever transmission that is 4:10 might not be bad - do those things have an overdrive? you'll need a .7 or something overdrive for that to be at all comfortable

Need an aluminum valve cover welded - two, actually long story short: idiot friend was doing 'favor' and cutting custom holes in them for my breathers (sheet metal valve covers) anyways, he cut the holes too big, so the rubber grommets and the breather is loose not a huge deal - they still fit and don't come off but there's some oil loss because of the loose fit and it's bothering me hoping to find someone that can add in some metal need not be pretty - i can grind down with a dremel for exact fit and no, i'm not using JB weld - i'll have nightmares of it falling down into the oiling holes i hear tinman is pretty backed up anyone else, or any shops i can drive to thanks!

maybe i should add, again..that i want to be able to go there to pick up the part i know of 4 or 5 places in dayton (where i'm from) all of them sell restoration parts for muscle cars exclusively and at worst, there is 'the paddock' over on the indiana border i'll grab a phone book tomorrow and look around - there's gotta be some around here even if it's a place that *can* order the parts - don't have to have them in stock...just that they order frequently enough from places like year one that i don't have to pay shipping

yea, i know i've got 4 cars i hate year one or shipping - $15.00 a crack with handling - not to mention the wait if i waited a few months between ordering stuff, it might be ok but i'm impatient i currently need one single clutch adjustment rod a 5.00 part, maybe $10 that any restoration joint
