  1. I talked to Shep and the dealer about this when I looked at getting my tranny rebuilt in my old turbo Laser. Surprisingly a lot is quite a bit different between 90-91 trannies and Mitsu had quit making some of the parts needed to rebuild the 90 trannies. Shep told me to get a 93 or up tranny.
  2. I just left a few mins ago and there were a ton of people there, 10 is too early.
  3. I've heard of some of them in the 10k range but damn.....Is Brent Rau or Shep revving that high?? Or are you simply being sarcastic? I've read about plent of guys running to 9k all the time. For the trannies.....they simply can't seem to take fast abusive shifting, that's what seems to destroy most of them unless you have a Shep trans or something. Run synchromesh or some redline and go easy on the shifting and your tranny will last. As for who said the dsm's only come in 5 speed that is wonrg, they made auto's in all models including the turbo's, their just rare. The 90 motor is the best choice for stock rods, oil cooler like mentioned but stay away from the 90 trannies.
  4. What happened to the air bag cover on the wheel, it doesn't match?? Has it been wrecked?? Very clean looking though.

    Halo 3

Luckily the day it comes out is the 1 night my roommate has class so I'll get a few hours in before he gets home, then I'll only get to play it when he's not(which will be rare).
  6. Most Evo's have the 6 speed but some were offered with a 5 speed I belive that had better ratio's for the track. It is pretty much is impossible to put an Evo tranny in a dsm as said their on the opposite side of the engine. Superhawk makes a good point, why need to go even 155 if you put 2 bus lengths on them by 120!!
  7. The Atom is the base model at 205hp, though it's still going to be faster than most it's not as fast as what we saw in Top Gear. I think the Atom will be a top contender, it should get awesome mpg's considering it's weight and the 1/4 should rock as well as the track lap and gross display of hp, it won't do well in the "Streetability" though obviously.
  8. I believe the gearing allows up to 155mph, not 100% sure on that though. Shep or someone might have a gear set to allow for some more top speed, but it's been a while since I've looked at poarts for these cars.
  9. Anyone out there have some powerslot rotors and some maybe some good pads too for any 92+ dsm or n/a 3000gt(aka 2 piston brake setup)?? Used is fine as long as the rotors aren't warped and pads with enough left for a track day. Thanks
  10. Fraudulent charges on it and the bank doesn't seem to care and giving him a hard time about anything.
  11. The best motors like said were built before 4/15/92 I believe is the date, then they went to the 7 bolt. The 90 cars had the factory oil coolers and big rods though the trannies are virtually non-rebuildable in that year. In 93-94 the awd cars got the 4 bolt rear end which is the one to have for awd, though if your going for a roll car a fwd will weight almost 400lbs less and have less drivetrain loss. Check for your typical shaft play as most 1st gens and some 2nd gens are old enough now the original turbos are dead or dying. Make sure the tranny is not grinding and when you push in the clutch you don't hear any noise from the tranny like an input shaft bearing(older cars more likely). Check the valve cover as they tend to crack a lot and are getting more expensive as they are harder to find(I have a clean hyundai one I'd sell ya super cheap). Other than that look for typical stuff as the 4g when taken care of can be a near bullet proof motor.

    Next auto x ?

That's it for our SCCA region. Buckeye Miata club might have one still and search for the local vette or Bimmer clubs as they hold events on a regular basis as well. I believe there is one in Dayton either this weekend or next weekend and the MOSCC in Mansfield might have something as well. SCCA doesn't hold much in september because of the autocross nationals going on next week so you have to look around some.
  13. My roommate is having trouble with a bank he has a credit card with and needs a good lawyer. Anyone know of a good lawyer that deals with this kind of stuff?? Also where can he file a legitimate complaint?? I know there has to be some service like the BBB for the banking industry.
  14. My goal is simple: make it down one of the regular hills at MRM without falling on my ass!! I hope to do a lot more snowboarding this year.
  15. ^^I was waiting for something smartass like that from you, typical.

    Halo 3

    Can't wait for 4 player co-op carnage!!
  17. The cash cow is in full swing!!
  18. Hell, isn't that the speed Shanton prefers to roll race from??
  19. ^^I second that man, that's just scary.
  20. Wow, a 240 not being used for drifting is rare anymore, I like it.
  21. Waikiki is overrated, it's not very big and way to crowded. The thing it has going for it is the location obviously and it's very family friendly and safe with it being so shallow, no real current, and small wake. I never got to visit the other islands but I hear it's vastly different, like you said about rolling up the sidewalks at 9pm. It's much smaller and vastly less populated but much more quaint. You could spend months exploring all the islands with everything they have to see.
  22. Very true, but I prefer games like this as they are far more entertaining to watch regardless of who wins.
