I'll disagree here, I hope its manual only all the time. If not, it'll be the EVO MR, which is outrageously expensive, and because of that, sit on dealer lots even with huge markups. Local dealers still have 2 2014 MRs that they can't give away.

Considering this is 12k cheaper than a gt350, and all of the things mentioned by fiji, it's laughable that the 2 are being compared. The comparison vs the gt is valid, as it's the same price point ,roughly. Still, I bet very few will cross shop the 2, even sitting side by side. If you want a hot hatch with awd, muscle cars won't be on your list.

Good luck finding an E30 or Fox v8 manual worth a shit for 3k. Miata is probably the cheapest way to get a solid autocross car.

Agreed. I'm too lazy to quote myself on the RS price, but its what was expected. Hopefully, I really like the STI, and a new engine might be enough to make me buy. It needs a 10% power bump, and 20% mpg bump.

You haven't read any of the threads I've read then. Everyone wanted/said it would be much cheaper because stupid. I'm looking forward to the reviews. Hopefully subaru redoes their STI engine and it becomes semi modern.

Yup, I even know a guy who pulled up in a GTR and they wouldn't let them drive a fucking WRX, and that is WITH being good friends with the salesman. Bunch of horse shit, fuck subaru.

No way. If anything, it'll be slightly faster than the R and STI, and MAYBE handle slightly better than the STI, but they will all be comparable. I am looking forward to the RS though!

These. 2015 Golf R is DSG only, 2016 coming in manual, loaded for under 40k. STI is a bit more raw, and better handling at the limit, but not by much. Same performance overall. S4 and S5 are bigger, but with sports diff, can do some work.
