  1. This is what just happened to me yesterday.
  2. Holy crap is that Toyota ugly. Wow.
  3. I agree, this sounds like a way to spend a bunch of money on something old, unreliable and that handles meh.
  4. B5 S4 if building a car. B8 s4 if bolt on type thing. B8 can be had in 20s now.
  5. Very nice man. Loving this build.
  6. About 3 years ago, I started out auto crossing. I had just purchased my 2012 VW Golf R, threw some light mods on it and bought some Sumitomo HTRZ3 dedicated summers. I managed to beat Jones in his TTRS once, so I was happy with that. :gabe: http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/September7058_zpsf3eda1d6.jpg Later that year, I did my first and only HPDE at Mid Ohio, with quite a few CR members. It was a blast, but it toasted my tires. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/tires_zps7b96d406.jpg The next spring, I bought my first set of 200TW tires, BFG Rivals, and did a full season of autocross. I did pretty well, managed to come in second in my class at Buckeye Miata Club for the season, and even managed to beat Jones in his GTR, once. I was happy. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/GetImage13_zps05aae527.jpg I also managed to get 2 1/4 records for stock tune MK6 Golf Rs, both ET and trap speed. This shows the ET, another had a best MPH of 100.XX. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/AJB_8019_zpsd94c45eb.jpg This year I went through a bit of a car identity crisis, sold the red R, for a 99 FRC that lasted 6 weeks roughly, then back into a VW Golf R. This time, I kept the mods to a down pipe and slicks. The grip was unreal, and with struggling competition, I managed to get my first FTD. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/20150529_203238_zpsb2hseu6i.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/20150531_155145_zpsxuh2rkrw.jpg I got tired of understeer, and the familiar VWs I've had for 8 years, and finally found the car for me. It's a big bitch, but the power is great, rwd is awesome, and it gives me a lot to learn. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/Mustang%20BMC%203_zpsg0siukjf.jpghttp://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/Mustang%20BMC%202_zpsryekc6q4.jpg My goal is to do the factory camber mod, and get some 18s with the hot autocross tire and try to compete at a national level in SCCA next year. Also, with Miller's help, and a few core autocross guys from CR, we will be running the United Ford Owners autocross season next year.
  7. Exactly. Facebook CR is retarded.
  8. :dumb: I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, since you have recently shifted from hard parking to being interested in actual racing things. However, why haven't you posted up on CR about it? Regarding autocross, there are always 2-10 CR members at local autocrosses. If you look at the top 10 of any of the local events, its usually peppered :lolguy: with CR members. Also 2 of us are taking over the United Ford Owners autocross organization for 2016 and beyond. I'm sure we could do a date in partnership with CR, to get some of you old crusty fucks who normally go straight, to turn that wheel. Anthony/Tina/whoever, I'll reach out once it's time to schedule dates for next year. I'll commit to putting more content on CR regarding car setup, tires, techniques, etc. Mostly regarding autocross.
  9. Changing the oil at 3k (this weekend) with semi synthetic (did at 1k also), then moving to full synthetic at 5k and every 5k after. Diff and trans will get new oem fluid fills at 5k. Purchasing winter tires this month, putting them on mid November. That's it.
  10. add Ben, that's 4 apparently.
  11. Just looked at the alignment specs. Seeing your mods, and use of the car, I say they are good. As Kelly stated, that alignment he suggested is absolutely NOT what you want for a car focused on turning.
  12. NOICE We should get the 3 S550 guys together after your build for some pictures.
  13. I'd wait until spring, and I'm sure you'll have Koni's out by then, and maybe a few others. I can't imagine they won't release them prior to autocross season next year. Truth be told, I haven't done a whole lot of comparative research on the different "fixes" to the wheel hop. I take it the items you did were to fix the source problem? I've seen the videos of the busings, and it's quite ridiculous.
  14. i like it, but don't like the black hood.
  15. I'll be doing a factory fill replacement on the trans and rear diff at 5k miles. Even just changing fluids (not upgrading) is supposed to help the trans shifting out. Why didn't you try the steeda rear subframe brace or the comparable BMR? Also, any plans to do a shifter, or bracket that moves it to the trans instead of the body?
  16. I'm not sure what all the hate is about. I like them.
  17. edited because you weren't the dummy I expected
  18. BAD ASS. You move fast! Like I said in the other thread, keep me posted on the 3 items you're installing this weekend. Wheel hop is bad on these.
  19. I was wondering this myself... Does Nick B at Byers Ford in Delaware have a good service guy he recommends? I've used Germain on Sawmill, and have been happy thus far (couldn't sync my phone after a week, and factory defect in a rear wheel), but have a few things I want to get looked at soon and don't want to drive all the way out there.
