  1. This is actually where I'd go next now that you checked the solenoid. I put on a Honeywell aftermarket box last winter, and it's pretty easy to miss this, especially if it's on a switch somewhere you don't usually think about. Also, check (if it exists) the bypass damper is open, and that the pressure sensing hoses on either side aren't clogged.
  2. Why not look into joining the State Department? Sure, your undergrad GPA might have been low, but you got the degree, and now 5+ years of experience negotiating deals. Were they multi-party nuclear disarmament deals? No, but nobody does one of those their first day on the job anyway.
  3. I don't know which particular thread you're referring to, but I'd guess it's probably that the kitchen is regarded as "obviously potentially NSFW content" while other boards are assumed SFW unless specifically stated otherwise.
  4. Or just, y'know, get a pickup or four-wheeler w/ trailer. Either one wouldn't ruin his hillbilly cred.
  5. Was always 10c between grades up until maybe 5 years ago, when I started seeing 15c between grades. It's only been in the last couple months that I've seen a pumps with 20c between, and none at 25c.
  6. I vaguely recall someone saying about the same thing about Keith Richards...
  7. The Browns radio guy, or the Steelers? We used to listen to the Steelers games while I was at OU simply for the fact that the guy would start the game soused, and was righteously pissed by the end.
  8. At least in terms of NEO, there are far worse places to be than Hudson, like Solon, or Twinsburg, or even (gasp!) Brecksville (what a shithole that place is, eh Kirk?).
  9. The thirst MUTILATOR!!! (it's got electrolytes!)
  10. Screw the risk and guarantee the high... Krokodil!!!
  11. If you do, go with Machete Order. You can thank me later
  12. Same here... but some movies deserve a big screen, and just about anything sci-fi qualifies as such. Still wish MGM had re-released 2001 in 2001... the idea of seeing something like that in IMAX makes my inner geek giddy.
  13. Canada. It's like America, only.... NORTH!!! But yeah, as long as she's not going to Quebec (where they scoff and hold their noses if you know know French), the passport card is all she'll need.
  14. Ray Hughes (member here) has done a lot of this type stuff for a bunch of us.
  15. If interest rates can be trusted to remain stable, or are already stupid high (think early 80's inflation-busting levels), ARMs make sense for short-term situations like yours. However, we're living in interesting times, where the Fed has held overnight rates at 0% for years, and they're making noise like they want to raise, so neither of those conditions are met. Unless you're able to refinance into something more fixed, or succeed in selling before the first rate adjustment, it's possible (nay, likely) that you're going to be in a world of hurt five years from now. ARMs and their ilk are a good part of why we had a housing bust to begin with.
  16. Yep, get with Marc. Spent the better part of two afternoons playing all sorts of numbers games to see how best to apply the <20% I had when buying my place two years ago. In my case, it turned out the best method was to have about 10% down (which actually left a little bit of cash on the table) and pre-pay the PMI, which pushed me way into the itemized deduction realm come tax season, letting me recoup a portion that I wouldn't have gotten using standard deductions.
  17. I wouldn't say forums are dead, they're just much more niche now. There are still things they do much better than Facebook, the top three on my list being how they keep topics/threads separated, making it obvious which topics have real new content versus which were puked up by some obtuse (and incredibly annoying) "Top Stories" algorithm, and being able to search back posts for vendor recs or other shenanigans. In my case, I've actually been debating whether or not to re-online my HS forum on account of how much a pain FB really is when it comes to keeping track of who says what, when, and what's a new thought versus a reply to or regurgitation of something that was settled months ago.
  18. Maybe I should go read the intros... sounds like there might be there. Aye... When Eli brought me in back in '06, I had enough time to spend almost two hours a night in the gym, play EVE Online past midnight, and still get to work in time for a full 8-5 shift. Today, I'm happy if I just drive past the gym, patch the client, lay down before midnight, and slog through the morning with half a pot of coffee. But don't compare me to Metalli^WAlterni^WSymphoni^WSelloutica.
  19. Throw winter blades on now and be done with it Honestly, though... I typically put winters on my wife's RAV4 around Halloween, and unless she goes wiping ice with them, they usually last just about a year, so it's kind of a no-brainer. I've tried all manner of aftermarket blades for my Civic, and always end up going back to the OEM "refills" because of how the windshield is shaped compared to blade pressure.
  20. Bit late to the game, but seeing a lot of "yup"... Facebook (and social media in general) - Yup... people want instant gratification, and while the chatbox is nice, most of us older folk have "real" jobs and can't follow such stream of consciousness. Drama - Yup... Maybe not the greatest of reasons for visiting a board, but there's a reason Linn and Gabe are legend. Age - Yup... I'm not OG, but like most others on here, I've got responsibilities that chew up my time and a job that is 24x7 on-call. Don't really know what to do/suggest about it, been at least five years since I turned off my own forum (HS class website) in favor of a Facebook group so I don't know what software's out there anymore, but I'm around, check at least once a day, and will continue to do so regardless. It's also great for getting service (roofs, concrete, etc) recs, and maybe that deserves a topic group all its own.
  21. Dunno if it's still around, but I used PDA Net back when I needed a tether (which, honestly, turned out to be almost never, and was so bog slow on 3G that it was almost not worth the effort)
  22. And the fact that it's writing a frikkin' cartel straight into our government charter. No, No, and a thousand times *** NO FUCKING WAY ***. It was wrong when the casinos did it, and it's wrong now.
  23. I think the intent here was to prevent the Ohio Supreme Court or federal courts from ruling their monopoly/cabal as being in violation of the Sherman Anti-trust Act.
  24. Proving once again that pot-heads are smarter than your average navel gazer.
