  1. What parent hasn't tried to avoid diaper duty by sniffing and falsely proclaiming "All clean!"
  2. Except beer smells good. This smells like ass.
  3. What exactly are you getting from them? I've have an internet-only UV package, and at least when I shopped them back in May while moving, the price/speed was straight even with the equivalent TWC and WOW offerings.
  4. What's that supposed to mean? You can stick KUbuntu on nearly anything, and half an hour later have something that looks and acts so much like Windows that most people either wouldn't know the difference, or think you'd given them a nifty "personalization" skin.
  5. Yes, canisters for the filter elements... the generators at my office have them in the same spot, though they're yellow and a tad smaller.
  6. Errmmm, call me a tard, but don't you need oil to deep fry something?
  7. Are these just pain in the butt issues, or straight-up code violations? If the former, you're probably just stuck, but the latter can often be solved via a certified letter saying "Either you fix this, or I'm opening an escrow at the county courthouse and you're not seeing my rent until it's repaired." Look here, specifically sections 4 and 7.
  8. Perhaps it is time to teach this goose how not to be seen...
  9. With that kind of background, you might be a good candidate for our fire suppression vendor http://www.integratedprotection.com (dunno if they'll give me a kickback even if you do mention me since I don't work for them, just buy their stuff)
  10. I expected photos. I was not disappointed. But you might want to put something on your windows so he doesn't see his own reflection and get all "That's my doe, you bastard" on himself and come crashing through your living room.
  11. I'll snag that Netgear switch, just lemme know where and when's a good place to meet up via PM. I work in the old Compuserve/AOL building off Henderson.
  12. Ya, busy with a 3-month old and a $1.5M upgrade at the office. Otherwise I'd be out there playing for a change.
  13. There is no alternator in this thing. The 12V is pulse-charged off the 158V NiMH hybrid pack.
  14. No specials that I'm aware of, though one of the "make it work better" tricks discovered by a canuck corporate fleet manager (and "blessed" by Honda) is to occasionally disconnect the 12V battery so the hybrid charge state is lost, forcing a deep discharge recalibration. Doing the float charge while disconnected from the rest of the car would take care of both at the same time
  15. While I figure out WTF to do with my non-fault but mostly dead hybrid pack, the car's been hitting the traditional starter (and thus the 12V battery) far harder than the charging system was really designed for. I'm sitting on a $100 gift card for Sears, so with the goal of having at least a weekly top-off/conditioning charge applied, what should I be looking at, and what is unnecessary fluff?
  16. What kinds of connections are on the TV set in question? I've got an 55" RPTV with HDMI connectors, which lets me use a DVI-to-HDMI cable with no special cards or gimmicks. What's on the back of your TV could well determine whether or not it's worth doing, or if you should just buy an older laptop from somewhere and install DOS/Win98/WinXP/whatever the game needs.
  17. Go with Hastings. They did a LOT of the maintenance/repair work at the city pool I worked at in Cleveland back in high school, and we never had a single problem with their quality or professionalism.
  18. The Supreme Court would beg to differ with you. That said, their 5-4 ruling basically said "It's only our place to decide whether or not something is Constitutional. Whether or not it's a good idea is an entirely different issue that's outside the scope of this Court." In other words, they punted by saying "We think this is a dumb idea, but despite Obama's protests to the contrary, this *is* a tax, and taxing is a power given to Congress, so it's allowed."
  19. My biggest pet peeve right there... how the hell am I supposed to know what "restricted hours" are??
  20. Need a relatively small job done (drop ceiling grid and some office walls) fairly quickly, and our usual outfit (Buckeye House Painting) won't have any crews available in the time frame needed. Last thread was two years old, so I'm looking for some recs.
  21. Mouser. Good filter tools to whittle down to exactly the cap(s) you need. Just be sure to buy genuine Jap caps (I prefer Nichicon).
  22. Done both my LCD screens as well... Samsung 204B (which is notorious for bad caps) and a Viewsonic VP201s (just old). Not all that hard if you know how to use an iron.
  23. CV/F southbound onto 270 isn't changing. You've still got the regular ramp westbound, and the cloverleaf east.
  24. Just tell her the South will rise again, and you'd best be on the neighbors' good side before it happens lest you get lynched for being Yankee scum :gabe:
  25. 'Bout the only suggestion I would make is to live in the zone that's a 30-60 minute drive from the coast. Close enough to go any time you like, but far enough away that hurricanes become little more than a reason to throw a kegger (which is what my friends in Coco Beach FL do whenever they're not in the evac zone).
