  1. Anybody know how to reach out to a railroad and find out when trains are scheduled to go by? Thinking of buying a house that backs up against the CSX rails in Powell, and I'd like to see how good a job the existing trees do of noise insulation when one goes wheeling by.
  2. When's the planned opening? Just down the road from my office
  3. That's strange, could'a sworn that song got used... Oh, snap!!! I was right!!! :asshole:
  4. Very first song was Tron. After that...

Babylon 5 was one of the best shows on at the time, and might still be the only one to have been planned out, start-to-end. Season 4 got rushed since it was an open question up until the very last moment whether or not the last season would get the go-ahead, but it's interesting to see how things in S1 affect things in S4/S5.

BSG was great until MooreRon decided it was "about the characters" instead of "about the story." At that point, it jumped the shark about fifteen times in quick succession, then nuked the fridge for good measure.
  7. You think algebra's bad, just wait until you get into PDE. Only fskcin' math class I ever had to take more than once. Unless of course you have no intention of becoming a STEM major, in which case, dumb on, dude!
  8. Easiest way is to carry around a reference card, shoot that, then shoot your subject, always in RAW... that lets you muck around with what actually landed on the image sensor, not what the camera's programming did to it before writing to memory.
  9. Sales also went up, interviews happening now http://careers.expedient.com/apply/WSQUuq/Sales-Representative.html
  10. At this point, I'd almost rather he not be found. It's nice having unexplained and unsolved mysteries in one's life.
  11. Systems engineer just went up: http://careers.expedient.com/apply/IOt8Rd/Systems-Engineer.html
  12. Just post him/her up? Or might there be some sort of NDA/Non-compete? I can't believe I'm going to be the only one looking to buy in the near future with rates this low. Yes, well, hence the thread Second half of why we're looking for a buyer's agent... I don't think I've seen a single short or foreclosure on any website anywhere, and I have to think there's a shitload of them out there.
  13. Ehh, actually it's the sellers who pay the 6%. If there's only the listing agent involved, they pocket it all. Otherwise it's (usually) split 50/50 between the listing and buying agents. Pretty much this... Just because you can write up a contract doesn't mean you know what unique issues need to be included. Well, this listing agent has yet to return an email or a voice mail... kinda hard to sell someone's house when you don't return calls! realtor.com mostly... seems to include all the MLS stuff, and the search tool is fairly well implemented. It'd be nice to have a way to filter out all the contingent stuff, but oh well.
  14. Want some recommendations.... found a bunch of threads about selling your house, but nothing on buying one. (I'll be seeing AngryBMW tomorrow about what his bank might be able to do for me, too)
  15. Of all the things Linn posts, to be infracted for that.....
  16. Waiting for NTSB to point their finger... current theories include: - Lithium batteries in the cargo (seems most likely) - Fuel line couplers (known issue) - Electric short (known issue)
  17. Where at? I'm over by the Billingsley NTB, so unless you work in CBus, it'll be a drive...
  18. Just come pick them up, or if we can arrange a suitable meeting place: 1 qt Prestone DOT-3 brake fluid, unopened (from when I thought I was going to flush the brakes myself) 1 qt Formula Shell SAE-30 oil, unopened ~3.5 qt Mobil Super high mileage 5W-30 oil (been sitting about a year) Again, free, first come-first serve.
  19. Since Instagram is owned by Facebook, and Facebook is pretty fail itself when it comes to privacy, I'm pre-emptively deleting just about every photo I've ever stuck on there. No sense even leaving the possibility out there anymore.
  20. First reaction was a Yugo, but those steps are aftermarket rice.
  21. Evan, what's your end goal? A two-year associate's, or a four-year bachelor's? If the latter, check around for 2+2 or 3+1 programs, where a "traditional" school partners up with a community school. Friend's son is going to be doing this up near Cleveland, where Lorain County Community has partnered with Ohio... three years up there, paying LCCC rates, then one year in Athens, paying OU rates. When all is said and done, he'll have an OU degree with an OU grade point and OU transcripts, for what they expect will be about a quarter of the cost of having gone there full time. Another option is the "Ohio Transfer Module," where you get all the stupid freshman and general ed type requirements out of the way at a CC, then transfer the entire package into a traditional.
  22. Curiosity question: Does NHRA (or any other group) take a stock OEM of every vehicle and race it a couple of times just to get an idea of what an unaltered car is capable of? IOW, how would I know my _____ falls under category ____ unless I either race it myself to find out, or have some sort of reference?
  23. Of note... In the ep with Kelsey Grammer, Kirstie Alley was supposed to reprise her role as Lt. Saavik as a head nod to 'Cheers'
