  1. Didn't you read TFA? It's only coming in noseeum black. You'll see the headlights coming at you like a freight train, but that's about it
  2. Well, if it's a Hilliard cop, odds are (s)he won't show in a Columbus courtroom when you go to contest....
  3. Bump... a couple of openings to share, and why they're open (if I know): Graphic designer (CLE or CMH) - The previous guy took another position Network engineer (BWI, BOS, CLE, CMH, IND, PGH) - The previous guy caused outages by not following procedure Windows engineer (CMH, CLE, BWI, IND, PGH) - Growth Systems engineer (BWI, CLE, CMH, PGH) - Still open from my 1/14 post In general, even though multiple cities are listed, there is typically only one position open, since the group these openings come from works as a single entity across all our markets.
  4. Depends on where you sign... one spot means "I acknowledge receiving this citation, and that's all I'm gonna say," while another means "I'm a worthless loser who pleads guilty. I did the crime and I plead guilty. Oh, did I mention that I'm pleading guilty? Because, you know, I plead guilty. That's how guilty people like me plead." (And as anyone who has gotten a ticket can confirm, that's about how often the phrase "plead guilty" shows up next to that line... you have to be an illiterate moron to sign there if you have the intention of fighting it)
  5. For how incredibly "advanced" these weather radars supposedly are, the concrete in front of my door is miraculously dry for the big green blob that's overhead.
  6. It's a Monday. The commute would suck without any snow at all.
  7. Just because I'm not (usually) in a hurry to get somewhere doesn't mean I'm self-righteous/pompous enough to deny others that luxury/thrill. If you've got the money for a Shelby, then by all rights you ought to be allowed go WOT and let that thing roar, and assholes clogging up the passing lane make that dangerous for everyone.
  8. I'm up for autobahn law... go as fast as you fsckin' like in the fast lane, and get ticketed the moment you don't move over for someone with more horses under their hood. :burn:
  9. Interesting, though I have to wonder how often limits are set, and then never revisited. Case in point... Hard Road between 315 and Smoky Row. When I first took OSU summer classes in '99, the farms were still there, the road still went across the CSX rails, and you still had that stupid 90deg corner turn (hence Hard Road?) at the bottom of the hill. Limit 35. Fast forward almost 15 years, and it's now two lanes each direction, divided, with the 315 interchange fully built, the road going underneath the rails, and clear sailing the whole way. But it's still only 35. Now, I'm sure you can make the argument that directly in front of WKHS ought to be slower during school hours, or maybe even in general, but it's laid out like a 3/4 mile drag strip, and I'm surprised I don't hear about it being used as such more often.
  10. AFAIK, it's a law everywhere, just one that isn't enforced with enough regularity.
  11. This. Of course, if the limit goes up to 70, and OHP starts ticketing slowness in the hammer lane, you'll have my vote on both (even though my aborted four-banger can barely even go 70, but that's beside the point).

    Serenity

Exactly this. Fox screwed it over so hard I was surprised Summer Glau signed on to do T:SCC
  13. Absolutely nothing surprising about that.
  14. They don't block us in anymore, but the new company is pretty bad about not clearing parking spots that are empty... kinda pointless to have a plowed road when there's 8" where your car's supposed to go.
  15. One of our vendors is looking to grow their Columbus office, and is working on establishing themselves in the Indianapolis area, as well. We use them for fire systems, but they also have a security division. The more certs/licenses you have, the better.
  16. Totally bone stock... had a K&N filter in for a while, but it didn't give me any more ponies. 10k miles to go before I install a grid charger, which (if previous users' experiences match mine) could get me up into the 55-60mpg range again (shit Honda battery mgt software has me lucky to get 30 anymore)

  18. Just about any $100 laser ought to work for that type of printing, and tbh, you could probably find excellent condition used for less.
  19. Does seem to help, using Vista x64 on U-Verse. Browning: There's a link at the bottom for Windows... that page says Server 2008, but the relevant links all exist on Vista.
  20. I've heard that several native american tribes get hard-ons for this sort of work... higher in the sky = closer to god. That said, I can understand OSHA not requiring them to tie off as they climb, but I am a little surprised that parachutes aren't required (or the preferred method of getting back down, for that matter)
  21. Just south of where the rails cross over Liberty (Jewett Rd). Interested since a couple of friends bought new further north on those tracks, and their builders put up a wooden sound fence (basic picket style, maybe 8' or 10' tall). Their house isn't even 50' off the tracks, and while their kids easily count the (non-flatbed) cars, the adults can still have a conversation at normal speaking levels as they're going by.
