  1. If you go with a deck, be sure to check on which material it's made of: Pine: Cheap, but even pressure treated and water sealed, lasts 10ish years Hardwood: Middle cost, but my parents got about 25 years out of their cedar planks before redoing it last spring. Trex: Recycled grocery store bags. Supposedly indestructible, but I've no idea how well it absorbs color.
  2. Nope, but $70 should cover the labor to make sure the compressor's running properly, the fan isn't stuck, and the condenser coils are clean. Clean coils == efficient HVAC.
  3. If people would just fix the leak, the cost of R-22 wouldn't matter. These things aren't batteries... recharging in a properly installed and maintained HVAC should never be needed.
  4. How about a builder/general contractor? Middle of "winter" so it's not like they're busy with new construction or roofing/landscaping right now.
  5. Electric - We've been using The Superior Group for all our electrical stuff at the office, class group those guys. Possibly a tad higher on price because they have the freedom to bid high-end, mission critical type stuff, but they've never let us down. Plumbing - Muetzel has been hit-or-miss in the year we've been using them, seems to depend on whether or not the guy they send specializes in that particular type of work at hand. As examples: Both guys sent for toilet/urinal issues seemed peeved to be on something trivial. The guy sent to relocate a line away from live switchgear guy was ace. The one sent to repair a backflow was friendly enough, but it took several visits and he still had to call in for backup after replacing every component in the thing and still not getting it to hold.
  6. Even after paying for gas and a hotel or two, I suspect you could do it cheaper just flying out there and driving back yourself.
  7. Ron Jeremy is disappoint :fuckyeah:
  8. Well, kinda expected Trish (and Tim) to at least comment, but whether or not they want to drive up to Cleveland is an entirely different matter
  9. Looking for suggestions on how to negotiate on price... fiancee and I have looked at a couple of shops where everything is bundled (engagement, wedding, edit/retouch, prints, albums, mugs, yaddayadda), and given we have a professional graphic designer, a published "pro-sumer," and two Photoshoppers in the family, all we really want is just someone with a good eye and good glass who can shoot while we have fun, then send us the files when it's over. The wedding's in Cleveland, so this is more a "What's a reasonable price for 4-6 hours" than "send me your bids" (unless, of course, you do want to spend the day up there).

Parallel on top, serial on bottom If they work (I can test if necessary), I'll buy the whole thing if you're near.

Do the serial and parallel ports work?
  12. If more weather reports actually had this sort of commentary, I wouldn't mind that they're almost totally wrong :masturboy:
  13. If Expedient used staffing firms, it had to have been quite a while ago. Everyone here in Columbus (which opened Jan '11, happy birthday us!) is salary, as are all the folks I've had occasion to work with in our Cleveland and Pittsburgh data centers. I'm also not aware of anyone having been recruited through staffing firms. Sales VP found me on LinkedIn, a couple of folks were transferred in from other offices (Pitts mostly), and the rest a mix of offering better opportunity than competitors and posting stuff online.
  14. Careful... anything more than the slightest dusting could be measured as 1mm
  15. Trump's too stupid and full of himself to be in on a conspiracy like that. He'd blab in a heartbeat if he thought it would score him publicity. I'm kinda sad he's already out of the GOP nomination race, he makes for great entertainment (not to mention a delicious target for Ron Paul).
  16. Even Trump finally had to face reality and admit that Obama's certificate was in the proper office, in the right book, and sequentially correct.
  17. At least rain doesn't cause ice dams above my windows and door. :fuckyeah:
  18. Fix the gabe face instead... it's not showing
  19. I see the phone call going something like this.... Ford: Hey, Mr. President... you remember that auto industry bailout? The one we didn't take? Yeah, that... We've got this here problem, and, well, we're calling in that favor you owe us. Obama: :fuuuu:
  20. Is that 5+15+80 w/o PMI, or 5+95 w/PMI?
  21. If you like, I can send this post over to my brother. He's getting into that sort of work now (has been doing mostly stock research/advising to mid-wealth clients), and might be interested in working some numbers just to get a feel for how your .mil and VA bennies affect the calculations compared to someone who only has a traditional pension or 401k/Roth to work with.
  22. Damn that sounds good. Why didn't I ever have that growing up?? And FWIW, somehow my girl actually prefers the cheapie generic Golden Grahams to the real thing. Win!
  23. Looks like a typical iron core transformer at the start, probably 1kVA at most. What gets thrown in at 2:29, though, I haven't a clue.
