  1. You actually took that vid seriously?
  2. Don't think I've seen posted yet Redneck engineering at its finest!
  3. With as many water changes as you've been doing, and the volume involved, there's a good chance this is at least part of the problem unless you've pre-treated the replacement water with a dechlorinator, as you'll have killed off all the nitrogen cycle bacteria. Hard to say more without running some test strips, though.
  4. Had my two lowers out about a month before the start of my senior year of HS. Except for the utter strangeness of two gaping holes where teeth used to be, that was about all I felt. Just keep some ice on your face so the swelling stays down and doesn't make you look like a chipmunk hoarding fifty tons of acorns.
  5. Then your bank gave it to you as a courtesy. Institutions are only required to give you a freebie if they make an "adverse" decision based on the info in the report.
  6. That only works if they decline your app.
  7. Free report, yes. Free score, no.
  8. From the Powerball website: Now, humor aside, something a lot of first-time players don't realize is that tickets must be bought with cash. They are "bearer" instruments, which means that whoever is carrying them is assumed to be the rightful owner. If you lose them, there's no recourse UNLESS you've done something which proves it's yours, like signing+dating the back of it and having a picture taken with you holding it up.

  10. Those are the cysts of larval tapeworms.
  11. Stupidity? Either the embedded description or one of the comments called it a maneuver called "Returning to target," in which case it's something you're trained to do, and have to practice. Practice doesn't always go to plan.....
  12. Personally, I've always preferred their military history of France.
  13. Unless requirements have changed, you could also join if you've donated blood at the Red Cross.
  14. Pretty harsh statement... anything I've ever wanted to do, I've been able to accomplish with the GIMP. I'm sure there's got to be stuff that it's missing compared to PS/LR, but when it comes to basic color level adjustment, layers, and even film negative scanning, it's always had what I needed.
  15. I'd be worried about the sand acting as an insulator by preventing air from circulating around the fittings.
  16. 1. It's like a VCR, only newer. 2. If you wait ten days, maybe. If you wait ten months, definitely.
  17. Ok.. apart from using different material (steel / aluminum / titanium / carbon fiber / whatever), what can you really do with a trailing arm that would speed up your car? http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/NASCAR-Chip-Ganassi-Racing-discovers-issue-that-created-scary-Montoya-Daytona-wreck-030212

All you probably need to get the thing working again is a $8 card edge connector from a shop like Video Game Exchange.
  20. Eh, maybe not... I finally saw the replay, and he definitely was not in control of that thing. Whether or not there's enough left of his front end to figure out what happened is another story entirely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIQQdMWfw7s
  21. Just black flag him and get on with it.
  22. This is what pisses me off. Trickle down slowly, then spike upwards. Lather, rinse, repeat. Plus or minus a few cents a day makes sense, but 40 cents in just one go? There's no way you can tell me this isn't being rigged somehow.
  23. Well, to close the thread (more or less)... Went with a studio out of Cleveland that a HS classmate has been with for about 5 years now, and a couple of others have used for theirs. Our cost was a little lower than what some folks PM'd me, with the agreement that we would get a DVD of unedited shots, and they are free to do anything they like for promotions and advertising. We also plan on picking maybe 20 or so to put into an album of their design as well. We've actually got a published photog on the guest list, and a semi-pro expected as the date of another guest, but in both cases we decided against asking them for sorta this reason... the first would spend *HOURS* trying to pose us perfectly instead of getting that two-minute 98% and doing the last 2% in PS, while the second would likely see the first's gear and want to talk shop (cue Nikon v. Canon fanboi war).
