  1. Pure win right there, folks :bangbang:
  2. They're buying time, because they know they've fscked themselves into a corner. Had the election come out something like 50.5/49.5, people would be pissed, but there wouldn't have been so many people screaming fraud. But by setting it 63/37 when the polls (limited though they were) going in had it as a dead heat, as well as the reformist being utterly thumped in his hometown, well, that's a big red flag that *SOMETHING* fishy was going on. So now they've bought themselves a week. And then it starts all over, because if they say "No fraud found," ain't nobody in the world gonna believe them. But if they say "Yeah, we found some problems," all hell breaks loose internally. The mullahs are scared, and anybody who's scared is liable to do something stupid.
  3. My five year was kinda lame... folks who went to college were either just barely out or not quite done, folks who didn't were pretty much doing what we expected (mechs, trades, or moms, mostly). The ten year was a bit better. More interesting things to talk about, including television gladiators, visiting expats, and the like. Might not make my 15 year, though... 18 hours is gonna be an awful long time to hang in the air if things play out as I suspect
  4. That's about the only complaint I've ever really had about MET.
  5. Please put down your tools and walk away from the box. Very slowly. In fact, put your hands in your pockets as you do so. Once you are 4 feet away from any electrical box, say very carefully, "I do not know fucking shit about light bulbs" and promise to never address this issue again. For those who didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, light bulbs have *two* wire contacts. Line and neutral. There may (should) be a ground inside the fixture or work box, but there is definitely NOT a ground on the bulb. A loose or disconnected neutral equals no light. Period. Besides that, the ground does not "bring back what the neutral leaves behind," unless your wiring is either broken, or there's something very very wrong, and someone/something is turning into a glow rod like that vid from a couple days ago.
  6. That's amazing how much better it looks compared to the last one. You keep healing like this, and we'll be wondering where the scar to prove it happened went.
  7. So tell me... am I enlightened, or just a smart-ass?
  8. Om bhūr bhuvah svah tat savitur varēnyam bhargō dēvasya dhīmahi dhiyō yō nah pracōdayāt
  9. First step is to find as much background info from the adoptive parents as possible. They almost certainly won't have the biological parents' names, but they likely have the adoption agency. Next step is the local court records office to do a search, she may have to file a motion to get the records unsealed. Even if the records are unsealed and she gets the names and addresses, the location info will be quite out of date, so it can still be a lot of digging and research to find them. Good luck to you both
  10. I've got an old Dazzle USB capture box, but I'm not sure if 2000/XP/Vista drivers were ever released for the thing.
  11. Two of these, matched pair (good for RAID-0 or RAID-1), asking $40 each or $70/pair.
  12. Ford saw the writing on the wall years ago and started doing what needed done while cheap credit was easy to get. As long as we don't go 1933, they'll do just fine. My bigger worry is that GM gets its shit together under bankruptcy, putting Ford at a disadvantage.
  13. I'm thinking that bone is from a young horse (cannon bone?). The shoe next to it gives a reasonable size comparison, and the long bones in a human that would match that shape (humerus in the upper arm and tibia in the lower leg) I'm pretty sure would both need to be longer for that degree of thickness. And that cake simply rocks
  14. Yes, but I've never seen a laptop that didn't have any PCM slots. Sure it's not just taken up with a blanker of some sort?
  15. I had to go to a european vendor to get one, they're a royal PITA to find. If you can't (or don't have the patience), I've got a Netgear MA521 11b Cardbus in search of a home.
  16. Let me know if you do. I just converted my rarely-on server from water to air, may do the same with my gaming rig. Would need to see if there's a clamp (cheap) or water block (pricey) for the i7 though.
  17. The problem with "letting them die" like everybody wants when it comes to GM and Chrylser is that they'd take the suppliers with them, causing fatal damage to Ford. Find a way to keep the suppliers healthy while GM and Chrysler are taken out back, and you're a smarter man than I.
