  1. 225/40/18 (X2) 10/32 Michelin Pilot Sport 285/30/18 (X2) 9/32 Michelin Pilot Sport 2011 build dates, came off a 17K mile 993 Porsche. Did a whole lot of sitting. Replaced for newer build dates. These have the same tread depth as the brand new ones........ Asking $350 for all 4 or make an offer. Willing to split the pairs at $175/pair or make an offer.
  2. Awesome neighborhood. The garage is that deep???
  3. Ford GT90 jumps to my mind, sort of an iconic concept car for the time for me.
  4. Agreed, obviously doing it yourself makes it a little easier on the wallet, but just as aggravating to spend your time fixing it.
  5. Look I get it, any dweeb can buy a newer turbo car plug a computer in and boom make more power. (not saying I wouldn't) It's not for everyone. It's frankly a little boring. 300wheel in a 2700# car is entertaining considering the car is a little more challenging to drive than others. Nobody is saying MR2's are cheap. No one is saying they are an easy platform. At this point though they are only going to go up in value and now is the time to get into it while you can. I'll stand by the car since I've owned it for almost 12 years now and it's not going anywhere. I'm super happy that the aftermarket is still as strong as it is and parts are still as available as they are.
  6. All I have to say is that there has been just a couple changes over the last 15 years.
  7. I'm on board with the OP. My "wants" as far as vehicles goes changes on a weekly basis. Difference I suppose is I tend to not discuss on a message board, but I get it. Makes it more entertaining when it's public though haha.
  8. I paid $3500 without the Drag wheels. I needed the limited slip trans and wanted the tails. There is a super awesome turquoise gen 4 swap car in Virginia for $8800 on the MR2 for sale page.
  9. To me LOL It's rough. There is a basket ball sized hole in the driver floor that someone put a piece of diamond plate over.
  10. The one on drag wheels? Jeff's?
  11. Noted for the future!
  12. '93's are hot because they made enough of them. nothing wrong with 91-2 just less neat bits. '93 got a suspension geometry change, bigger brakes, limited slip, 15" wheels and some other minor things. '94 and '95 are just about unobtanium and when they do surface they are easily $12K+
  13. I would look for a cleaner car at that price point. If the chassis is genuinely rust free and they have timing belt records $%K-$6K would be reasonable. They are all over the place right now. 200K on the body and "swapped" with a very dirty motor..... 1993+ cars are the most desirable. The '91-'92 turbo cars did not come from the factory with a LSD trans. Gen3 3SGTE turbo is the most popular engine with the Gen4 motors the most popular current swap. Keep in mind the best place to buy these cars is in the "inner circle". Best to join the Facebook groups and buy via that route if super serious.
  14. I had a good experience with Fowler over near the airport.
  15. Get in on the turbo MK2 MR2 game before prices skyrocket as they are already trending upwards.
  16. One of the guys that comes into the shop frequently is looking for volunteers to show up with their personal car to the Worthington Memorial Day parade to drive a World War 2 Veteran. It's like a 2-3 hour commitment. The parade is in the morning of Memorial Day. He noted the following: Prefer American cars Convertibles are preferred, but certainly not required. Not looking for cars with straight pipes/full race cars Most of these men/women are in their 90's, so something easier to get in and out of. They have about 40 veterans, not sure how many people they need yet. If interested please send me a PM and I'll get you contact info!! Thanks
  17. Nothing real fancy about doing it special tool wise other than a crankshaft pulley holder helps. Independent shops shouldn't have a problem. Use a Aisin water pump and Gates kit. We also replace the hydraulic tensioner as typically once we get in there we find that the top seal on it has seeped some fluid out of the body. Better to be safe than sorry.
  18. I would also keep the Yaris presuming you have the space for it. Because I bought my truck for towing/hauling, I love not having to feed it gas when I'm not using it for those things. I used a 1500 5.3 Silverado towing Subaru's on a 1100# trailer getting around 14-15mpg towing near 70mph and it was fine, but you 'Murican car guys weigh what I would call "a lot" more plus most people would prefer a full deck 18' trailer vs. my open center 15' trailer, which puts you closer to 1800-2200# pending construction. Or you could ball hard and go with a full Aluminum deck 18' trailer that is closer to the 1200-1400# range. End of story, make sure when you sit down to budget. Heavily consider what you are going to use for a trailer as well. Huge price difference between steel and aluminum trailers and noticeable weight differences.
  19. I'd want a 2500 for that sort of weight personally. Having ridden in a 1500 2WD laden to almost 8,000# it was a little white knuckle at some points. That was with a super experienced driver....... Also, let's face it. It's silly to expect to tow that sort of weight at 80mph anyway. It's worth slowing down just for the fuel savings lol. Applies more so for enclosed parachute trailer towing. I ended up with a Tundra, but it won't ever pull more than 4,000#
  20. Sold the "fronts" price drop for the remaining pair.
  21. I would rather have a shock/strut/spring combo over coil overs for a daily. Also totally depends on your application and what's available for it.
  22. (2) 245/40/17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport's dated 2014 and have been stored in my basement. Bought these off someone on here, ended up going with 16's on my MR2 and don't need these anymore. Supposedly they were installed on on older person's car for like 600 miles and they decided they wanted run flats instead. So, no auto crosses, burnouts, and the car was well aligned. Obviously the tires have a ton of tread left, still have the "nubs" on the edges. PM with phone# for pics. Asking $200
  23. As an avid Porsche fan, I don't really care for it. It's neat, but the period clash is a little too much for me. The wheels are WAY to big for the body line. As a side comment, 17's are too big for the 930 chassis IMO. So these look ridiculous. I'm already sick of seeing the headlines of this car being "crazier" than the old one. It 100% won't be, at least not with that inboard suspension. The nuttiness of the old car was not simply how much power it made.
