  1. Nice work! Interesting cars to work on.
  2. Not a fan on the longevity side of things. All I'm going to say here is that a Pre Purchase Inspection is going to be the smartest thing you could possibly do. The newer turbo motors are plagued with oil leaks, it's the number 1 complaint when they come in. Plus you now have to mind the carbon build up due to direct injection. Ignition coils are also super common to randomly fail. Electric water pump failure rate is high, etc. I have not been impressed.
  3. You can keep all of that, I'll stick with my German stuff.
  4. These things are awful, can't imagine having to work on them all the time.
  5. Auto Options Appearance Automotive Professionals
  6. I'm in the same "emotional" boat with upgrading from my old ass Subaru Wagons. I really hate to move on from the chassis and I am having a heck of a time deciding what to replace it with. No, I am not looking for help/suggestions lol.
  7. I bet Scott is super excited about how potentially difficult it could be to service these things.
  8. My fiancé took me to Pebble Beach and the Monterey Motorsport reunion. Needless to say we essentially saw literally everything out and about. A subsequent event that week is Exotics on Cannery Row. Youtube has videos for days about it, but we checked out the area a day or 2 before the event and saw multiple Koenigsegg CCX's and even a Regera. Bugatti was there with their Chiron/Veyron/Vision GT concept, etc. If you ever get the chance to go it's incredible and by far the best week of car stuff I've ever experienced. Biggest random neck breaker locally was a silver 918 in the Short North area while we were sitting on a patio. People were stopping traffic the opposite direction of travel to get pictures of it.
  9. Did I miss the diagnosis of what is wrong with the car? Has it been verified that the car is actually just done/blown up?
  10. Mechanic at an independent auto repair shop. It's great 90% of the time. There are quirks to most jobs I'd imagine. I guess it's ok here since I haven't left in about 14 years. The extreme weather days suck, there are days that car repairs don't go smoothly, but the stress doesn't come from how I'm paid, it's more keeping up with the schedule and holding up your end of the shop. There are only 4 of us, but we work very well together.
  11. I'm coming in late. I consider MK4 Supra a grand touring car. I don't put grand touring cars in with my definition of super cars when I talk cars. Phrasing such as rare, nor the price of the car are things I take into consideration. I would argue that Toyota didn't have a super car in the 90's off the top of my head.
  12. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2001-jeep-cherokee-19/ Should be fun to watch
  13. Super happy that this went to a great home. I'm sure your son will really enjoy it!
  14. EDIT: Tim picked up the Cherokee from our customer!
  15. I was on car #2 when I joined (Fiero GT) that has floated around CR members. I've owned like 56 cars now. Not going to bore everyone with the list, but I do have pictures of every one of them I keep in an album. Currents are in the signature.
  16. That hella random night meet at Canes this past season seemed pretty successful.
  17. Get the Formula Ford out at least once and do a shake down day + fingers crossed the CR track day has autox again as that was super fun. MR2 is getting headers and rear brakes, plus continuing to work on the Gen4 turbo swap on the engine stand. One of these days I'll get around to swapping the car. RX7 is accumulating parts for a LS swap Golf R is getting Koni yellows Tundra may need a frame, and the transfer case looked at. White Legacy wagon will continue to accumulate parts for battle wagon 2.0 build.

  19. How many "auto lol" people have driven an automatic and manual 928?
