No offense, but you did just call yourself a moron. Moron would be someone who goes out in an incapable car and has no idea how to drive in the snow and gets stuck, or someone who goes out in a 4WD truck/car and drives like there is not snow on the ground at all.

I'm under the impression that there is no limit on safety....so, considering how modified his car already is, the car shouldn't change classes based on a cage unless the car was stock. Or if he wants to run pro rally events aka non rallyx events i believe a cage is required, just like real SCCA road racing (not track days).

CSCC offers a 2 part welding certification class, not sure about the details, but it was brought up in our tech class the other week.

Automotive Appearance Pro's do a lot of dealership tinting for MAG, they do an amazing job. They deal with a lot of high end cars, so they obviously have a reputation going. I plan on taking my car there this spring/summer. Our repair shop up the street recommends them to everyone that asks!

What he said ^ I went to one two years ago at ackerman and it was a blast, way more laid back than the scca events. I will be doing the local autox events for morpca, a guy named tim stokes drove a blue MR2 at most of the events last year which is why i'm going hopeing he will be running again this year. You run in "X" class b/c you are non porsche.

Come out to a porsche club autocross this spring and ask to ride along. They are a blast! They are also way overpriced in my opinion even in poor condition. We had one at the shop (same as Megaman above) needed full brake job, fuel line work, and suspension work. She wouldn't take 2K for the car even though it needed like $1200 in parts. And as far as a 914-6 goes, if you are doing a swap, then for the love of God do not buy a 914-6, those cars are too rare to tear apart and put an American motor in. For those that don't know the 914-6 has the flat six out of a 911 in it.
