  1. I had a similar set on my 99 GTP. I had headers an intake a cam and tune and a few other things too. I miss those days. The MS3 is still interested :gabe:
  2. I'm with your dad and to a point so is Mitt who I do likely believe has money in off-shore accounts. However, is that really such a wrong thing? I mean he's out to protect his millions just like all the rest of us so why not? We all pay too much in taxes. The money we pay is mismanaged and with the rash of levies that just got shot down, I think the majority see it that way too.
  3. that's can't be. I'm going to bed as I must be delusional & tired :gabe: Meh.....The dead grass in my lawn is growing faster: Time to put new puppets in the house. http://business.financialpost.com/2012/08/29/u-s-gdp-shows-economy-growing-but-slowly/
  4. For me it boils down to which candidate has want it takes to create strong economic progress and again, I don't believe it's Obama. I'm with you. I don't buy tax breaks for the rich will create anything. However, just the same, I know that as a business owner, if I'm forced to pay more taxes, I'm going to take what's mine (that money) back in some fashion from the people who work for me. So that too won't help either. In terms of inequality, Obama is worried way too much about the people below middle class. I'm not worried about the gap between the very rich and very poor. What needs fixed is the gap he's creating between the middle class and the rich. There will always be poor people. They need to begin helping themselves. They aren't the contributors thus focus on those that keep the world going, the middle class and up.
  5. Problem is once they shift into 3rd they run out of breath.
  6. Again, is Obama worthy of another term? How many remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LtbLEKHsi0&feature=related
  7. We could debate the issues all day long and take this thread another 144 pages like it's destined to go, but in the end, it's Pointless. Again, after 4 years of Obama, if we're all still asking these questions, it's clear, he's not the guy to keep in office. Is Romeny perfect? Again, let's start a 144 page thread to discuss. However, let's keep it simple and ask ourselves if we' rather roll the dice on a great orator that hasn't proven anything or listen to another successful businessman and learn from the mistakes of not doing so in the past. I don't like either side this year but my money is on a business man. The country and our finance system need saved. Clearly not a job for Obama. Feel free to banter about issues here and there to kill time. Ultimately we are getting stuck with one of the two. Who stands a better chance to implement what is needed. I stand by it not being Obama.
  8. Ha! that fucker's commercial is on now! Yeah, Clinton endorsing Obama because we had a strong middle class when he was POTUS. Yeah...we did....but that giant sucking sound was the beginning of the end. I remember watching this live while attending OSU: Giant Sucking Sound - Ross Perot 1992 Presidential Debate ^^ The above is classic. I dread seeing what our future holds if Obama is kept in office. Absolutely no doubt Ross is saying "I told you So"
  9. One would think by now he would have shown us. I love the new Bill Clinton commercial where he takes credit for "that's how it was done when I was in office" When that dumb ass was in office the beginning of the end of the middle class started with his signing of NAFTA. Now Obama is destined to finish 'em off.
  10. Looks like an RS4. Nice ride but I'd rather have a CTS-V.
  11. Nice. No need to hide the plate though.
  12. After seeing his attempts to fix the economy, I'd rather see him pull off another scripted political stunt like reddit.
  13. Let's just say if you're into photoshop or creative work you won't do without one once you set it up and use it regularly. I have a laundry list of shortcuts tied to it and actions that help too. I hardly touch a keyboard or when editing.
  14. Ben called....he approves of the wing. x 2 on the worst video comment.
  15. Most of what I do when PP'ing images like this is for clients. How familiar are you with masking? There are a few different ways to mask off the subject to remain in focus. I keep the masks simple, but effective and any strangler hairs or areas of blur can be fixed with selectively blending the layers.
  16. Malibu competing with Mercedes and VW Law off the pipe Clay.
  17. ^^ I still say this. I hear ya, but Scott is proof otherwise. Every experience is unique. You're right that Jone and I don't have personal first hand experience, but I will say being in sales I can say for certain, if you have the good someone is looking to hire or keep, money is negotiable. The approaches to it will vary but there is value to having the paper as well as the experience.
  18. ^^ this. I grew up in a family selling cars and all the talk here about diesel interests and even the whole stick shift interest is fun but not real. People here aren't going to pay more for a car AND pay more at the pump for what would be less HP. Why? Esepcailly on the models shown in this artical. State side it's about potential sales volumes. Adding a diesel engine to a Malibu is like putting purple lipstick on a pig. You'd just have a fucking ugly pig with ugly purple lipstick
  19. IMO it's a matter of how value is defined and who it matters to. In the auto service industry, there doesn't appear to be any type of threshold on professional standards. That hurts the industry as a whole. However, there's no guarantee that a lawyer with a JD Degree is any good or ethical either so does that even matter? To me what an ASE cert shows is that the person has a self driven intellectual desire to learn and achieve a professional status. That does hold value to me as a layman or as a business owner. It's no different than two businessman holding real world experience but one then having an MBA to boot. If all things were equal, I'm hiring and putting more value on someone who has gone the extra miles for such a certification. That's self drive, commitment and pursuit of excellence that the other guy didn't put in motion. It documents a minimum consistancy by which all others can then be measured. I have seen through my wife an ASE Cert gives creidence in court cases. Do manufacturer's all cover warranties the same or do some require an ASE tech to do the work? Does that provide an answer to you? Not sure. In the end the "value" might me pay scale. I can't answer that impact. Key there however is to find a employer that would pay an ASE tech more to wrench a car than a non ASE tech. I can you that looking at the complexity and cost of new cars, my money is on having the certs getting you further than not. At least in the case of my family that owned caddy dealerships back in the day, they made it a point to show certifications. Afterall would you rather have an ASC tech work on your pricey caddy or a Joe Tech with just simply several years expereince?
  20. Need to change your sig now. - Scott Cordell, A1,A2,A3,A4,A5,A6,A7,A8,A9,X1 aka Mr. Bad Ass with a wrench. Great to know that if I fuck something up you can help fix it :gabe:
  21. I have an uncle that is blind due to electricity. Was a teenager simply changing light fixture in the basement. Was hot/sweaty and got shocked from a simple 110v line. Electricity traveled from his right arm on the wire/fixure, through his face (eyes) and down his left arm holding onto a ladder. Lost both retinas in the accident. Tells the story like it was yesterday.
  22. That's one way to take out the competition.
