  1. :45 for those that didn't catch it. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/142858432/original.jpg
  2. That will work. I usually do mine on back roads at speeds less than 20mph. Just adjust the shutter appropriately.
  3. First one is spot on. Minor edits all that are needed. The edited version not my style but take that for what it's worth. Here's all I would do. Some editing limitations based on the fact that I worked with your downsized web image, but you get the idea. Edit: http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/142858431/original.jpg Original: http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g135/1nFeCt1oN/DSC_0085.jpg
  4. WOW to the $800. :fuckyeah:
  5. I have Ford Sync and OEM Navigation in my Fusion. Works as you'd expect, but honestly, I use MotionX Drive on my iPhone and like it better. You don't need to see an 8" map to navigate. I would save your money and go aftermarket or seriously, use your phone and Bluetooth it through your car. You're welcome to see my set up and test both. Just PM me. Westerville is a stones throw.
  6. In follow up to our talk at C&C. Build a desktop. I built one more than capable for the same use last February for $1,150. Since I've added another 2tb drive and a BluRay Burner. Way less expensive than buying and the components are by far better.
  7. Had to strike first otherwise the wife would have her version shit on there. They say these add power. Let's find out. Just honk it off with my wife when you see her around. She'll likely try you from a dig though. :gabe: Single ear mount STS Turbo. Because it needs to be different. :fa:
  8. They look great. Can't comment on sharpness without originals but I trust you nailed them. In terms of PP'ing the first one is great. Nice edits. My only C&C would be to be careful with Tone/Contrast. Depends on what the impact your looking for is, but too much can yield a toned or HDR'ish attempt. Again, your first one is my choices of methods. Post #4 and #8 are a bit strong for my tastes but again, just my opinion. My only other insight is on lens choice. Those images appear to be with a kit or consumer lens (18-55?) Pop on some high dollar glass and you won't need to PP them hardly at all as the contrast and bokeh will pop.
  9. I hope you don't have a hard time dropping $2k now as while bodies are less now, lenses have gone up a lot and kit lenses are exactly that. Not what I would I spend money on if you're already camera savvy and ready to make a new plunge. Again, think $1,200 to $4,000 for good lenses. I've owned both and can't comment on your expereience other than it was in the past. If you avoid Canon you'll be pigeon holing yourself based on the past which is 110% different than today. IMO I can talk to you about either system but will say two things. Canon is a close second in terms of body offerings. They still retain a number one rank IMO in lens selection though. Lenses > bodies all day long. Your opinion and that of others may differ. Bodies come and go lenses don't. Focus (pun intended) on glass for your particular needs. So what's your focus and intent for shooting? Smaller format Bridge cameras have been around for years. One of my favorite non DSLR cams is a bridge body that's now 11 years old. In terms of today's EVIL system, I think they will remain around and become more common now that more households have DSLR's too. Again, focus on lenses. If you're interested in DOF then EVIL cams aren't the way to go. Most have a four thirds format that is not conducive to DOF so IMO, not for me. You make the call for what your needs are. I will own one some day as there's certainly a place for them, but if you're looking to build a system that will be around for years, I'd put money on a DSLR all day long. I don't know the future and what it holds any better than others. I do know that I won't spend my time thinking about it either as I can do far better focusing on today and the next 5yrs of my use. DSLR is where I"d go. I'd also suggest if you do have experience, you go well above the 3xxx and 5xxx or Rebel line if you go Canon. The entry level bodies are too limiting IMO for someone with camera experience. If you plan on doing portraits, go full frame. Sports, FF works too but today's crop body cams do have advantages there. I shoot both. I have a Canon 40D, 1DMKII and a 5DMKII. I use my 40D crop body for sports and as my personal daily carry. My older 1D is bar far my best sports camera. The 5 series is for my walk around and corporate photo work both events and portraits. Hope my points help. Looking forward to hearing more about what you're looking to shoot and what your budget looks like as it relates to what you want to shoot now/today vs what you might likely grow into.
  10. If you don't want kids and find yourself as you spend time with them you still don't want them, then leave her alone for the sake of the kid. The moment a child is in the picture, but all accounts, the world revolves around them and certainly not you. I'm a father and very happy and that's the way it is and should be. We didn't change a whole lot between how my wife and I interact or what we do, as we expect the "family" to partake in events. However, no doubt, a child comes first. If you find yourself in love and enjoying her company and the above paragraph doesn't apply to you, then focus on her. She's not likely going to judge you just on how you treat her, but likely how you and the child interact first. If you two don't click, but you and her do, you're likely still "out" Kids are awesome and as a father, I will say even I didn't know that until I made the commitment to my wife to make the leap. I'd do it all over again just the same, only I'd likely have them earlier. I don't what to say but to hold true to my signature for Gabe, I must say one last thing. I suggest you talk with her about things up front and define needs and expectations on both sides. It is somewhat a business decision for both of you as there's a third party involved. Good luck, have fun and enjoy the moments man. I personally wouldn't let a child come in between me and someone I enjoyed. Believe it or not, it could be one of the best things to happen to you and might just bring you up a few levels in terms of life's lessons and growing up. Not that you're immature, but believe me, having kid in the picture changes you. Changing you for good or bad is up to you not a fault or result of the kid.
  11. Gotcha....didn't realize they lack sound like that.
  12. Nice! I would lower the volume of the music. Better yet, fade it out once the racing starts, fade it back in and add in some credits. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Welcome Jeff. Once you clear the oven you'll have fun. Stick it out until then. Cars and Coffee meets are at Cup O Joe on Saturday Mornings 8-11 or even noon as some do stay late. I'd recommend stopping out. Several Ohio Bimmer members are here. Some just do C&C and not CR. You'll also meet several Die-Hard Auto X participants.
  14. Offer to help your nieghbor by practicing on his car. Just make sure he isn't too picky. Sounds crazy, but that's seriously what I did :lolguy: I didn't fuck it up, but I did practice the hell out my technique and won't tell him, but it took a few tries to get a couple panels on his car perfect :gabe:
  15. Jeff, Wags and Rockey....excellent job my friends!
  16. I've been told that David's car isn't even built yet. WTF kind of debate do we have going on among adults that includes a yet to be built car? Off to go bang my yet to be supermodel whore that's 45yrs my junior and is still in the balls of her father. :dumb:
  17. STFU, are you serious? :dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb: Well then fuck it, even my wife's minivan will kick that rides ass. Hang on, BRB, going to post that I can lift more than anyone once I complete my body building program. Not sure how long it will be, but just you wait....... Oh yeah....and my dad could have beat your dad up in his prime. :dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb::dumb: Close this thread. Useless.
  18. and I think the distance covered and type of run was completely different than what's being discussed here. hey, I'm late to this Urinary Olympic event, someone please post me some pics of both these bad ass cars that are being debated about there. I've seen Jamie's but not for a while. What about David's? I think I saw what is supposed to be his the other day, but there's no way it could be as that mofo was just a shell. I don't want to sift through 20pgs of thread to find them. Please don't tell me we're talking about bench racing a shell against a car that runs either as I'll fucking puke. in for pics. thx!
  19. C&C at Cup O' Joe's today was fun.
  20. On one hand I can see that side of it, but on the other, it's not all about cars. IMO, most of the fun about our C&C is just talking with friends and making new ones. Do these "high end" guys have other cars they could drive and do they still show up? Probably not. Hell, CR's group meets in the winter! I'd make more of ours, even today, if my kids soccer games weren't going on at the same time. Rain or shine, we play and yes, my kids come first. Enjoy guys and go show those high end guys what C&C is really about.
  21. Sounds like a great business opportunity with some time to prepare. On one side of the issues, I like the concept but not much. I only say this as I remember several years back when there was a LEO killed on 270 near the east side and they used the Black Box from the drunk drivers Blazer to determine his speed and actions prior to the wreck. In the end though, I would not blink when it comes to modifying the box or it's capabilities of doing it's job. Where there's a will, there's a way. In fact, I'd even go so far as taking the car on a 1-2 day test drive prior to officially taking delivery of it and having it done then.
  22. 13yr OD with an iPhone > many here with a dedicated camera :fa: Fun shots.
  23. pdqwagon no longer applies. I deem you're new name goddamnmotherfuckinfastwagon 151.66 :fuckyeah:
