  1. Depends on your house IMO. Both from a Decour and security stand point. I have a great place in my office that I would love display my rifles and in turn mount my hand guns in frames on the walls but I can't due to kids floating all over. I'm not worried about anyone peering in an seeing them.
  2. Just sent you a follow up email with some custom Christmas Cards for you to use. I hope you like them.
  3. I have a several as many of my family members served. This time of year I get slammed with restoration work, much of which is military related. Unfortuately, most of my family stuff is still waiting for me to get to it.
  4. I pulled some records from a property that my wife and I own that has 10 solar panels on the roof. The system was installed prior to us buying the property and here's what it consists of. It's a small system (10 panels) and doesn't power anything specific like a pool or anything. All of the electricity to pushed on to the power grid for the electrical utility. The system is now 4 years old and out the door costs including installation was $7,200 (after all rebates). Original estimates were that there was a savings of about $50 per month, but it turns out that was actually low. The savings are difficult to measure because there are so many variables. However, the current tenants (it's a rental for us) have tracked their bills and today shared that they have been calculating it at roughly $75/month. One factor many don't take into account is panel cleaning. Dirty panels can cut production and the cost of cleaning often isn't included in the savings calculations. I have them cleaned twice per year, usually with other typical maintenance that I have done there. Now, many providers only offer leased system but on the system we plan on using on our home, I am likely going to assemble the panels on my own and buy the equipment outright again. Again, pricing of the panels today is 1/3 what they used to so I expect a much better ROI on the next system. Hope that provides you a bit more information.
  5. Won't help you this year, but seriously, if you can buy 2x what you need and save the second half for next year, you'll be in heaven and never buy for the current year again. We did this after moving into our house years ago and the owner left me a 2yr old cord of seasoned hardwood. I was intense...pun intended. Do it. Best kinds are hard stuff and some fruit trees. Oak, Ash, Birch, Hickory, etc....I had a 1/2 cord of Apple from our neighbor and it was great too. Honestly did burn with a nice fragrant aroma (not like apple but good).
  6. Jym Ganahl asked that you all stop trolling in his business.
  7. They won't hear it. If they hear it or me, I've failed. That won't happen. I'll leave it at that.
  8. My brother just retired from Schlumberger and spent nearly 30 years with them. You're right, they've been doing it for quite a while and quite well, but others have not. Those others, human error and explosion of drilling will absolutely lead to more issues. Issues that simply can't have a price put on. He has very specifically told me that while we are both making great money off the gobs of Schlumberger stock we've purchased and had provided over the years, keep it at that. If they drill anywhere near your land, move. Period. I trust and fully believe him. It's just simple fact that the shit they are doing is very risky and many of those risks and issues that have occurred are quickly buried with money. We've all been around long enough to know when you mix, shit tons of money, mention gas or oil, companies like Halliburton are involved and politicians and regulations are involved and the processes here bring words like toxicity, cancer, radiation and well water contamination ......all that mixed into one sentence will equal a chance in hell if it were to freeze over of any truth coming out. Run.
  9. If you watch that video I linked you too and still feel this is even remotely a good idea, please log out of CR and don't come back. No way would I want to see this on my land.

  12. Definitely will read. I've taken my share of abuse here for stating that about being shot regardless of caliber and even round. Thankfully, I've never been in such a situation, but have no doubt that if someone were to invade my home, one of the last things they will be thinking about when the wife and I begin firing is what type of gun they are being shot with or what rounds I'm using. The only exception being our 12 gauge. I do believe if/when someone realizes the homeowner is firing 00 Buck they run faster :gabe:
  13. Seriously.....$53k ? Fuck that. I have zero respect for someone who would pay above $30k for that car even when it had a warranty and a company behind it. The one upside to this whole crash and burn issue with Saab is that one of our neighbors that I just can't stand bought one for his wife a few months back. Dumb ass sucker. I hope he feels like a dumb shit.
  14. Here in Ohio you're covered as you have a specified amount of time to notify your insurance company. Not sure about Utah or his policy.
